No. But I think I remember you from a few years ago. I was a lurker until I got the PC version of KOTOR.

Well it's good to meet someone else who'd since gone on the greener pastures. I had since set up a new account, but the activity there has been so scarce.

It used to be somewhat active. And... if I remember correctly... it was a strict site with some members being. Not as laidback as on here.

I know what the episode said; but you haven't extended this point to somehow concluding that the planetary crust being literally destroyed would be essential to the plot. It was essential that they could life-wipe the planet; it wasn't essential that they literally destroy the planet's crust.

Come on, we had a good discussion going on. Did you have to ruin it by appealing to "you are a Star Wars wanker! SuperS4 is a biased idiot! I'm right, and you're wrong!"? Just agree to disagree, and walk out with dignity, alright?

      TDIC

Incorrect. The plot did not depend on 30% of the planetary crust being destroyed; it only depended on bombardment powerful enough to wipe out all sapient life on the planet. Destroying 30% of the planetary crust would be overkill to a ridiculous margin. Additionally, going by this line of logic, you must accept a DET Death Star due to being plot essential...and, well, that puts SW yields far above even TDiC calcs.

PS. My point about industry and numbers still stands, even if yields went to Trek.

      TDIC:

You are the one ignoring canon by replacing what we actually see with what you feel should have happened. We are analyzing sci fi from a scientific mindset; you cannot throw out the facts on the basis of being “cheesy special effects”.
      -------
Even if Trek outmatched Wars ships pound for pound, which they do not, logistically they haven’t the slightest chance in hell of winning. They will consistently be outnumbered millions to one [based on WEG stats, and the size of the Death Star, as well as the size of a single transport fleet in Slave Ship] at least, against a foe that can move faster than Trek can even communicate. Can a galaxy class starship defeat a million frigates? What about the ten million frigates ready the next month; or the hundred million ready the next year? War is a numbers game, and Star Wars wins this handily.

But, I’d suggest that one of us start a new thread to discuss, and not clog up our visitor boards.

Star Trek by far has more strategic weapons than Star Wars

More vs better. A completed Death Star is completed immune to any Federation attack, and can literally destroy galactic civilization in months. The galaxy gun...well, that is an out of context problem even for civilizations like the Imperium of Man; sniping Earth from light years away, hidden somewhere in the quintillion-quintillion kilometers of space; it is entirely impossible for the Federation to counter.

Meanwhile, red matter, for example, takes half an hour to deploy, and decades to actually get anywhere meaningful with warp drive. There is no comparison.

Or, for example, Dooku's personal ship going from the altitude of a few hundred meters to beyond Geonosis's rings in literally seconds; the time that it took for Yoda to pick up his cane, and for a very concerned Padme to run inside to rescue her boyfriend and Obi Wan. Calculating this, it turns out to ICS level stats; straight from the highest canon.

And these are just two random examples, pulled from the top of my head.
    7. Sci Fi Fan
SW obviously has the edge in quantity... why not just concede that ST ships are proportionately more powerful for their size?

Because it isn't true. The United States' military is larger than the Roman legions; should I concede that they are qualitatively inferior just to play mass media here?

The Executor and the imperial fleet circumnavigate Yavin IV in under a minute; and the novelization rules out the possibility of any microjump haven been used. Now, based on any reasonable estimate as to the mass of the Executor, this feat would require engine powers comparable to ICS states; straight from the highest canon.
    8. Sci Fi Fan
There's a lot of stuff in ST which puts it above SW

Interestingly enough, you conceded that the Death Star can singlehandedly crush the Federation like an insect beneath its boots, which has got to be the most hilarious inadvertent concession I have ever heard.

PS: Are you admiral breetai from SFJ?
    9. CIDE
Why'd you delete your message? I did get a chance to read it prior to that but I'll wait for the reasoning before I give a proper response. Just in case.
    10. Rogerd
Jesus Christ, have you read this dishonest garbage they're spreading? Oh...wait, why are you banned?
    11. Rogerd
There's a lot of stuff in ST which puts it above SW, and the Warsies cling to ICS for dear life, plus the fact that Lucas has explicitly said films and EU are totally different. It is getting out of hand.
    12. Rogerd
Well said dude. I'm getting sick of the Wars wankers being deliberately dishonest.
