      Doesn't much change.

Just means that you use a slightly lighter set of equipment, but still at about the max you can carry around.

I'm going to try to balance it around agil based dodging and accurate shooting vs straight STR based heavy armor and firepower.

I also have to do a power based mechanic for biotics and psychics, along with whatever other non=direct damage effects get included in combat.

What about requirements based on SPECIAL?
    7. Gear
Yeah, still need to simplify it some more for a forum play environment, the cold I've picked up has been disrupting my sleep cycle hasn't been helping much either.

Think I'm going to basically use starship combat mechanics but with terrain bonus' to some stats to represent cover.

Still need to make a system to make personal level weapons and armor that won't just end up with everyone carrying the largest possible gun and armor around at all times.
    8. Nanao-kun
Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate with that system of yours.
    9. Gear
Sorry, had some problems with my payment schedule, haven't had any budget to spend on games at all this month.

Anyway, I think I'll just wait till a new ending DLC is released before buying it anyway.

I've found a D6 ME rpg system that I'm going to examine first, but I think I'm going to do a full rewrite of the rules again anyway.
    10. Nanao-kun
So did ME3 give you any insight?
    11. Nanao-kun
The problem is how to limit 'tacti-cool', people stuffing so many features onto an item that the item itself becomes little more than a frame holding all these extra items together.

Maybe limit it in the form of "1 hacking tool requires 3 unit of space out of however much units it has" or something, along with the types of stuff you can put on it?
    12. Gear
Well, I've been holding off on working on the system till I get ME3 to get a feel for their strategic resources system.

(Emergency tire replacement took all my game money till my next paycheck.)

The problem with personal scale items such as armor, guns, and omnitools, along with whatever else people want to make, is that they can be using very complicated effects, and the starship rules are a little too abstract for anything beyond basic weapons, armor, and utility items.

But mostly, I still have to refine the combat system to account for non-direct damage weapon effects such as DOT's, Buffs, De-Buffs, support skills, etc.

I'm also still trying to think up a good way to use action points in a forum based play environment where there are no maps, and thus no distances beyond 'close' and 'long'.

The problem is how to limit 'tacti-cool', people stuffing so many features onto an item that the item itself becomes little more than a frame holding all these extra items together.
    13. Nanao-kun
What problems are you having with armor and weaponry construction?
    14. Gear
Hm, nope, put it up on PsyckoSama's board here

Those are the rules as I have them right now, I think I'm narrowing the construction down to where I want it, but I'll have to fix ship construction, and make a system for armor and weaponry construction before I can be finished with it.
    15. Nanao-kun
So do you have them saved to a google doc? It makes it easy for people to see and evaluate them.
    16. Gear
The problem is that I need to simplify my rules, and balance them. Right now they're sort of three or four slightly different versions jammed together as I worked on them.

I Need to separate them out and really look at them all again.
    17. Nanao-kun
      Sounds pretty cool.
    18. Gear
Looks like a straight adaptation of Fallout's system for forum play. I'm trying for more than combat and social events, such as manufacturing, tech research, group leadership, army leadership, vehicle design, etc.

I want to be able to do just about anything with my system.
    19. Nanao-kun
Ah, I see. By the way, do you want to see the system I made for my Fallout game? Took me a couple of hours to make. Here.
    20. Gear
Right now I'm kind of stuck on manufacturing. I'm trying to get it to be useful for beginning characters, but not stupidly overpowering later in the game once they get some cash.

I'm working on trying to balance number of workers and pay costs to balance that right now.

It involves a lot of math. Also, I've started a new job, so I'm still getting used to my new schedule.
    21. Nanao-kun
You should save it as a google doc, makes it easy.
    22. Gear
Have it saved, on my laptop right now, I'll see about PM'ing it to you tonight
    23. Nanao-kun
Ah. Where do you keep your current rule sheet? A google doc or do you have it saved?
    24. Gear
Can't do Skype with my limited bandwidth per month. Never really used internet chat programs outside of games either.
