      Now your sig makes me want to make a version of Star Control where the Arilou Skiff has Xeelee wings, the Laser is a red Starbreaker that reaches the edge of the screen, and the map uses an image of the center of the milky way at something like 20,000 x 20,000 pixels plus a scattering of stars instead of planets.

    I like to think that the classic Atari game "Asteroids" is actually an adaption of Stephen Baxter's "Exultant", where you get to play as a Xeelee Nightfighter. You can point out that Asteroids came out 25 years before Exultant, but you know, that really isn't a problem.
