Have you ever seen a Japanese Haiku? Its a form of very short poem which might suit you, only three lines which makes it snappy and easy to write.

Sounds like you don't need a huge piece, a handful of lines perhaps. Had any ideas about what words you will use? Because in this format it's the actual choice of words which will carry the rhythm and make it work :)

Well I'm trying to figure out some poetic lines. Basically it's a conversation between old friends. The CO of one of the Task Force sends a text message to Captain Wilder ( Macross Frontier ) that says "It is not the strong that wins. It is the one who wins who is strong."

Wilder quickly realizes who it is so he sends a text message back. It's suppose to be poetic. Basically he's asking if she's planning to join her deceased husband and unborn child in death.

She sends back a reply saying that she plans to live and fight to honor their memory.

some, I've tried my hand at verse and also song lyrics. Wrote a whole story in verse at one point trying to emulate something slightly Shakespearian :D

As I understand it you don't need to rhyme, you just need a rhythm, so you repeat a pattern of syllables every few lines depending on the exact style you want. That's probably the easiest way to make it work, pacing rather than rhyming :)

LC, do you have an experience writing poetic lines ?

So Hephaestus-class Supportstars sound good?

Entirely possible, in real life the roles tend to be performed by separate ships, Oil Tankers, Stores ships, Ammo ships, usually separate but not always.

It is feasible. Hephaestus was the blacksmith of the gods, he fixed stuff and made weapons and armour for Zeus, Aries, Athena etc. I'd call that the perfect name for a ship that fixes up Battlestars named after ancient gods and stuff

I was thinking the Fleet would put all their Eggs in one thing to make easier like food, fuel, ammunition, and supply's into a Supportstar...and a Mobile spacedock for repairing, and building new ships up to a Mercury-class.

Hephaestus for a start, Equus, Vulcan (Technically that's Hephaestus again but meh :) )

I'd suggest a quick look on Wiki at US fleet tender names, then copy them. For transports I'd guess things like Caprica Star, Dawn of Tauron, Leonis Maru, that sort of thing
