        On a side note. This is probably a bad time for it, but one of these days I want to run a Quest where the protagonist is the protagonist only so long as he wears a narrativium amulet he found one day. :p

        Well, it's more like the heroic stuff only works while he wears it. You know - enemies are a derp, random guy picks up a sword and suddenly knows how to use it, people attack one at a time... until he loses the pendant. That would be the fun part - the hero who isn't a Hero.

        Or better yet, both? (Doubt it'd be viable in plot though...)

        If it's one or the other, depends. If I was concerned for Ib's feels, then it'd be Gary (the BEST ENDING, at least.)

        But I might lean personally towards Mary just for the Yan/Yuri part, and that's ignoring the fact that in that ending, she killed Gary, someone whom Ib possibly developed a bond over at that point.
