well they are so the ftl is limited to how familiar they are with the territories then no? they must have impressive long range sensors? I mean once its spun its instantaneous and all but to get from point A to point b the way there needs to be mapped?

Once spun up, instantaneous. But there is a range limit relative to the power generation capability of the ships, and the drive capacitors must be recharged between jumps. A battlecruiser can cross our galaxy with three-four jumps and need one hour charging time between jumps. Dreadnought up can jump all the way across a galaxy or overcharge using reserve capacitors (smaller ships don't have these, as long term charging standart ftl capacitors is not safe and these capacitors are a bulkier, different design that does not allow rapid charge/release of shorter jumps) and jump to other galaxies. Smaller ships use foldgates set up in rim systems for intergalactic jumps.

they would probably be a half decent challenge for prime kree/skrull but still not the shi'ar comparable fire power but smaller turf and probably smaller industry...how fast is the ftl?

seems like they could potentially be a contender for The kree or skrulls or The Shi;ar as they are now weakened and depowered..not so much at their height(they approach time lord level at their peek)....Ge too mybe IOM sounds like some bad ass dudes
