My character will be looking for men to join him, and start fighting against looters and the like initially in order to give the inexperienced men he would hire experience in killing and fighting. After he gets a small band of experienced troops, hell see if he can start working as a mercenary.

Its just the old Harry potter fic 'Make A Wish' by Rorschach's Blot. ITs a good one though... very entertaining. It has a couple sequels and a bajillion spinoffs made by other writers.

Harry goes on vacation with a disquise device and does various small things which are misinterpreted. Pretty soon hes the most powerful dark wizard ever to exist, is thousands of years old and/or is a god... its freaking hilarious.
