Yea, not much matches up well with XS.

I know some about Mass Effect.

And Xenosaga is waaaaay out of it's league ^^ XS is pretty high up there even without gods or gnosis or anything Zohar/U-do related.
    3. Obi Juan Kenobi
They have been in the latest Clone Wars TV season as well as the book The Courtship of Princess Leia

Did you see the Nightsister vs on the second page?

No problem. Well. It's been a long time since I read them. Like a very long time.

The second movie was essentially a two hour long episode of the show. Many of people disliked it for this reason, but I loved it. The first movie tried too hard to be a summer blockbuster when the X-Files has never been about the special effects, but about Mulder and Scully.

I think the mytharc was done well in that it was interesting. But it never resolved anything, it just answered every question with more mysteries. The real problem is that Chris Carter never had a solution in mind- he just kept in adding elements that were cool and later tried to fit them into the overall story. In hindsight this is annoying because you were trying to figure out what everything meant when it actually *didn't mean anything* in the long run until Carter figured it out.

That said, what we ended up getting was pretty cool (if derivative). X-Files was always a character-driven show, I can look beyond any failings of the plot because of how good the writing and acting was. Alot of the MOTW episodes were weak, but others were among the best in the series.

Let me order my thoughts some...

The Ori. There was great potential there that was badly squandered. As things stand, they were a monolithic block of evil with no variety and keeping them almost entirely offscreen (including their death) was a mistake. As presented, they are essentially the Goa'uld 2.0 with more power and less personality.

Not that the Goa'uld are anything to write home about, but at least there was some variety to them. The final story arc could have been much improved if the Ori had been given some gray shading by making their claims of ascending their followers be true.

I rather think that you are beating a dead horse here. There is some truth in the arguments from both sides and too much fanboyism rampant for the conversation resulting in something useful/constructive. I think that the matter is best left to rest.

I'd recommend to you Conan stories written by the original author Robert E Howard he was in many ways a true peer of tolkien but wrote far more I should say "common" stories but they are very good when your done with Tolkiens work start heading in his direction..

cool man your really getting into Tolkien mythology huh?
