The sad part is that it doesnt help his argument either way, though I'm starting to see your point about 40k canon I suppose.

1. Pretty much, yeah.

2. I've only found a mention of 'millions' so far. Although that may be for Guardsmen fighting at any one time; billions may be the number that was devoted to the crusade overall, in the form of reinforcements and so on.

3. Yeah, it's pretty interesting as fluff, and has some nice artwork. It's got 142 pages, and nope, no profiles for tanks, although there is stuff on a Tyranid creature or two, some Chaos guys, and a few Tau things.

Hey! On page 42 of the Tau Empire codex, second paragraph, the Tau purged a system of "the hateful Reek." I'm not sure that is proper xenocide, but the idea is there.
