Currently the Imperial Navy is still undergoing management changes as unsuitable persons are either forced into retirement or transferred to less important postings.

ISB is still young and hasnt started purging the Imperial Fleet and Army yet.

Four modified Dreadnought heavy cruisers and a quartet of Nebulon-B frigates are getting transferred to Commodore Hawks command.

The Dreadnoughts are getting improved automation and an increase in maintenance droids, dropping crew requirements down from 16000 to 2200, improved hyperdrives, armour, sublights, weapons and shields.

I was thinking about it. Although my guess is that real life sidetracked him. Same probably happened to AJW as we never got any more updates for the Klingon War AU timeline or for Beyond the Farthest Star.

Yup and in the meantime you can start reading up on the Terran Empire series. Or look for a story called The Looming Shadow by Lightning Count. That is another spacebattles gem that sadly, never got finished.

I'm thinking about it. Right now the semester is winding down which means lots of tests and papers coming up. Plus I am also looking for another job currently. I'll contact you again if I can think of something.

Sorry to say still have not had a chance to read the stuff on the link you gave me yet.
Had an awful day and still feeling terrible, not been able get much of anything done.
What i'll do is go to the link now and save the webpage to a txt file. That way when i'm feeling well enough to give it a good read i can do so off line if i need to. When i manage to get to reading it i'll let you know.

And sadly the pic you showed me what not the ship in question. I saw it once in the picture archive on filefront, it was for one of the Trek games. It was literally an enlarged Prometheus class, and maker of that pic called it an Archer class battleship.

I also like bigger ships. I was thinking this could be set at least a decade after the Dominion War, on a ship built for combat. Think something the shape of a Prometheus class, but as big or bigger than a Romulan Warbird and without that ridiculous MVAM.
It would be armed, armored, and shielded to the teeth, enough to pound the Scimitar to scrap. And perhaps a squadron of these would even be a match for a Borg tactical cube. I'm thinking this monster should have Q-torps, enhanced phasers, pulse phasers, armor replication (to a certain degree), at least 3 "All Good Things" Ent-D style phaser lances, and multi layered, regenerating, auto adaptive shields. I know it sounds like wank, but it's certainly something in the UFP's capability to build, especially since war and it's aftermath can really drive scientific development.

It's nice to see more of other races in Starfleet. The Orion for a commander is fine, and I'm also thinking about an Andorian Captain and a Gorn as the tactical officer, or as the leader of the ship based marines. Somewhere in there could be a Vulcan, who doesn't suppress his/her emotions, but does practice a VERY high level of self control.
