At the expense of being longer than you planned, maybe look at chopping the next planned chapter into a pair of smaller chapters.

I'm sure you'll turn out something good. BTW, I seem to recall you mentioning something about a Dilgar War story. Is that considered a prequel, or a stand alone, or did you set it up where it could go either way.
