Oh, how the weak have fallen further...
LOL!
You know, when they told me that you had scurried away to SB.com with your tail between your legs, I could barely believe my ears. "No," I thought, "they've got to be mistaken. For all the shit I give him, Ryan wouldn't actually go play in THAT sandbox, would he?"
I'm happy to say I was wrong!
Hey, Ryan, maybe you and Boyd can start a "Couldn't Stand Heat -- Left Kitchen" forum here, and have your little crybaby party about how mean we are on ASVS.
Briefly, on debate:
I've never tried to hide the fact that I approach these "Vs. Forums" as debates, with all that I've been taught about competitive debate applying in full force. Thus, I'm not afraid to say several things:

Debate is not a search for truth. It is an exercise in rhetoric.
As it is not a search for truth, positions which I do not personally agree with may be adopted to win.
The objective of debate is to emerge the "victor," having used superior rhetorical tecniques to gain victory.
Any tactic empirically effective at advancing a position should be used.
Gothmog has it right. Capital-T truth is much too big an issue to ever be hashed out on webboards and USENET, and if you believe otherwise... well, you'll see. I hope.
