I'm not saying the Forerunners or the Procurers can beat the Ancients only that from my understand, the Procurers can be the Forerunners. It's not much but it's something. I truly believe the Ancients could win if their competent with the use of their technology.

Note that the fastest warship the UNSC has is a corvette, which most certainly isn't going to generate more power than a cruiser, or probably even a frigate.

There is a part in GoO where times are stated as well as distances (specifically the parts where Blue team jacks a Covenant ship) that implies around 30 - 40 ly/hr slipspace speeds for Covenant ships. The Covenant low end itself would be a ship covering the distance between the distance the PoA took weeks to travel and taking the trip it did backwards in 13 hours. UNSC speeds themselves are a little sketchy, but 17 light years is stated to be two weeks away from the UNSC's territory.

Goa'uld Hyperdrives travel approx. 3.6 Ly/hr. That's 32,000 light years a year. As It would have taken a Goa'uld Ha'tak 125 years to travel the 4 million light year void between the Milky Way and Ida galaxies.

Older model hyperdrives. Newer Ha'tak, especially the Season 6+ Ha'tak Anubis brought in, appear to have MUCH faster hyperdrives. To say nothing of the Replicator tinkered ones left over after their invasion.

And of course, that doesn't really have any bearing on the upper level Ancient hyperdrives which are intergalactic in a matter of hours.

Oh of course. The number I took was from Season 5. Something I'm wondering is what would be considered reasonable travel time between galaxies for it to classify as intergalactic. I'm guessing when I say within a month as it takes 18 days for the Daedalus.

EDIT: After researching some more it appears that if a ship can travel the void in several months it's considered Intergalactic as when teh Prometheus was going to Pegasus that's how long the trip would have taken.

Ja, although its explicit that the Asgard hyperdrive is dramatically underpowered, when it can be supplied with the power it needs to run at full power, thats cut to a couple of days.

And of course, REAL Asgard ships only take hours, even dragging another ship in hyperspace behind them. Dito the fully upgraded Odyssey with the top of the line technology in 'Unending'.

And the ultimate It Shall Never Be Mentioned Again tech is the wormhole drive on Atlantis which is instant transport from A to B. And Ori Supergate technology.

I always blame poor power efficiency and generation when comparing Earth ships to other advance vessels.

I found the WHDrive funny as it was something the plot demanded when the writers tried to add more drama.

We know Covenant ships have some safeties in place, allowing Blue team to jump with 98% power or something like that, but what these safety systems are isn't stated (like spare power/emergency capacitor/luck or some such).
All I'm saying is that the Keyship being operated by the Covenant is only good as a low end, because it's clear that they did not have it fully functional. If they were only able to get 10% of the power from the reactors, what's to say what condition the rest of the critical systems were in? It's hardly likely that the slipspace system is in perfectly functional condition while the power system is at 1/10th it's peak.

Well in Halo-3 after opening the Arc portal and going through to the other side, it wasn't able to join the battle, despite not really having anything else to do - and given that the Seperatists swiftly gained Space and Air superority as a result, I'm guessing it might have been somewhat on its last legs.

We also have that fleet of Forerunner warships in HALO-Wars that the Covenenat were going to a LOT of effort to get their hands on. There didn't appear to be a HUGE number of them, and given the size of the Covenant fleet, you don't think they would be going to so much effort if they were only marginally more powerful then Covenant ships of the same size.

There is also the fact that it'd been stripped of any weapons (or at least all the ones the Prophets knew about) centuries before.

Apophis' ships in season 1 went faster than that, close to 100,000c.

Really? I was actually looking that up too but I couldn't find a definite speed. SG-1 was obviously on that ship for a few hours so we know that. Teal'c said the ship was traveling at 10 light years(obviously not true) which according to Carter would take a year to get to earth. I can't find anything to help determine the speed the ship was going at.
