Aftermarth SD

Well, if anyone ever was in the orgiginal aftermarth SD, you'll know all about it, otherwise, it's bascially like this:

The world has just had a huge nuclear war that wiped out nearly the entire human race. There were few survivors, and some of the people that survived mutated. You can be one person. No super characters. Each person has one talent, and a variety of tools (within reason). No huge weapons, and you are to be on your own, unless you find others. Characters can meet one another.

its like 20 or so years after WW3 witch ended in neclear war. The players play one or two charictors who survived the war, or have been born after the war. I believe we had some slight mutations, nothing like in New Future SDs though.

OK, looks like we have some interest, so I'll post my character information. I'll play Prudence Standish, a once wealthy business woman who is nothing after the war. She is still comming to grips with the whole thing. Being rich, she isn't particulary good with her hands, but her brain isn't too bad. She has a hand-gun she managed to scavage from the house after the war. She is about 6'3, and in fairly good shape. Her looks are also more than average and this was to her benefit before the war, and can be after the war as well. For the past 10 years she has bascially been keeping to herself in her slightly damaged mansion, living on the large ammounts of food in her house (ok, ok, I know, 10 years of rations is a little bit over the top, but she was VERY rich =P)

Basically, it's about time there was a female in one of these things, so here she is =P

Bio:Neo is an ex-military officer from austriala. He is only 19, bore after the war, but he has served in the army, covert-ops, barrets, and the navy. He quite after being assigned to city patrol(there really wasn't much of a city there) for punching his commanding officer in the nose, breaking it. He resigned and moved to america. He has been living in what used to be New York. The US government, had the whole area de-contaminated, with a new technece found during the war. He gets by day to day. He has traveled around for the last year, with different groups of poeple all across the nation.

Inside her ruined masion, Prudence holds a cold, dull pistol to her head. 10 years, and finally it happened. She switched off the safety and loaded a bullet into the chamber. How stupid could have she been. She had to know she would run out of food sometime, yet did she ration. Of course not, it would go against her over-indulging spirit. She felt her finger on the trigger and wondered what it would be like to pull it, to give up the everything that made her who she was. But that would be the easy way out, and taking the easy way out wasn't something Prudence was about to do. She threw the shrewed weapon across the over sized room and heard lead propel itself into the night. Crying herself to sleep had become a bad habit lately. She went to bed and did just that.

You do know you have to carry all of that. I also think it is a bit much. You are carry enough weapons for about 4 poeple. Atleast me carictor has bags and it limited to only 2 offensive weapons, those being handguns.


I would also like to add that my charictor has clip holders on his belt and more strapped to his laegs, to hold his extro ammo.

OOC: I actually am only carrying one person's worth of weapons. The M-203 is a grenade launcher is placed underneath the M-16. That's why Soliders can blow up so much.

OOC: Ok, I think we all agree that you have way too many weapons. You are limited to 2 guns (rifle or hand-gun) and 5 close combat weapons. You can be creative, but that many weapons is unacceptable.

IC: Robert woke up and looked to the world he saw everyday. He sighed and thought what the world was like before all the destruction had happened. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a photo. It had been 11 years, elevn long years since he had seen a relative. He left his resting spot, an old bus shelter. He packed up what little he had and wiped a tear from his eye and went of his way, to nowhere in particular but he had to do something and walking was it.

Daron had a hard live growing up. Supplies of food and water were short. He grew up in very Northern Canada and is unaffected by the cold. He's never visited anywhere with a temperature of 20+ c. He's very tall and musculer and a expert at hand to hand combat. His weapons were taken from his dead father, a ex-military officer. He will do anything for money from guarding to assanitation. He's a fairly good machenic and though he cannot drive, loves to fly. He's saving up what little money he gets to buy a plane and move because his town was bombed and is a wreck. He suffers from paranoia and trusts no one, and is almost always angry

So, I believe we should change something in this SD - instead of having players go all over the world, limit it to an island or something, so that we have more interaction.

We have decided on Melbourne, Australia for the setting for this SD, as Australia is where most of the people in this SD come from

OOC: OK, after a short discussion with Clanner (who is admitidley a lot more experienced with this thing than me), who made me see reason, I have decided to make one more ammendment about this whole weapons situation, and convert to the original Aftermarth rules of one gun, two other pieces of equipment, and enough food to survive for a couple of weeks. Everything else you'll have to find along the way, and no finding entire weapons barracks (errr... yeah, like I tried to do with the first one... hehehe) I hereby grant permission for clanner to co-moderate this thread with me.

Prudence woke up startled by a noise. These days, she just took it for granted that it was simply the chaotic winds that plagued this war-torn town, and not an enemy that made the loud but electrifying swishing sound. She stared into the half-light and let her eyes adjust to her surroundings. She had no idea of time or date, but this was her morning. It could have been the middle of the night for all she knew, it was always dark these days. She wandered out of bed and a memmory struck her. She still had a weeks worth of rations in a safe underneath her bed. Before the war, it held all that was private to her; confidential documents and the likes. She decided to leave it for now, she needed to save as much of it as possible. If she could, she would make this weeks worth of rations last two.

She got up and walked into the bare kitchen. It was a miserable grey colour, and had the faint smell of death and vomit. She had grown used to it, but anybody else who entered would surely pass out. But she was well aware the chances of anyone entering where similar to the chance of the world returning back to it's original state. Over the past 10 years, she had been working on a pump and filter system that would filter the disgusting polluted rain water from the acid rain clouds that the scientests once said would last 50 years or more. From her research, she had discovered this was a true over-statement, designed in the effort to stop the war.

Her estimates said the clouds should begin clearing any time this year, and if she could only find food to live of life could be picking up dramitically soon. She HAD to find other survivors, she had already gone crazy. She planned to set out and do just that tommorow. She had only one goal left in life. To find out just what really caused this hideous war!
