That Dreams Die Cruel - ST/SG:A Spam Fic
Star Trek, Sg: Atlantis, neither belong to me. This story was inspired by Star Trek: Atlantis, written by themorningstar No rudeness or disrespect is meant by this parody and no permission was granted. Through an unlikely series of events, a ring of a formerly unknown heavy element and a control unit was discovered on Birtydod 3, a planet in the distant edge of the United Federation of Planets. Through six months of hard work, trial and error and a great deal of luck (Some previous user had carved it into control unit unknown years ago) a wormhole connection was established to a place far far away. All this was well and good I'm sure, but for the attack of Orion Pirates upon the base did force a hasty retreat through the stargate into a dark chamber. The computer system in the massive city that the new comers had intruded upon booted up for a second, scanned the intruders and shut down. The chamber stayed Dark. The Starfleet MACO's immediately launched into action, securing the perimeter and placing guards at choke points while scout teams moved out to explore. The Science Teams explored also, while their computer and alien technology experts worked on activating the computers in the room. One of the team moved up a stair well and found a room full of small tube like ships. The rooms shuddered and one of the science team who was looking through a window paled in fear. Through the window and the shielding holding untold litres of water back, and through the water, was a city laying on an ocean floor. And part of that city had just been flooded with water, merely moments before the team member had looked through the window. Elsewhere, one of the science teams had managed to boot up the mainframe system. The lights on the oddly shaped control panel were steady and a few key touches had brought up lights in the main room. Several cheers rebounded. Another scientist had entered a small room and was watching a recording with fascination. His translator was slowly converting the words into his own language. Elsewhere, the science teams, comprising of well over fifty people, were starting up random bits and pieces, opening doors for the Maco's to dash through and secure. Atlantis was coming to life... A mere half hour later a panicked squeal from one of the scientists caught others attention. The explanation spread the panic a little, but the scientist calmed quickly and set to work. The rooms shuddered again as another section of the city collapsed. The science teams worked harder, trying to figure out what could be done. There wasn't even enough energy to activate the ring, even if they had an address to go to. Generators were connected to the frame and invariably were destroyed or destroyed the power connections as they tried to give too much energy through connections not designed to handle it. A final shudder came from the city, water started to pour down as the shields collapsed. The entire city was flooding. The Maco’s were pulled back to the main room, machines and doors were closed, they retreated up the stairs to the room with the small tubelike shuttles where the water continued to pour in. They died, drowning and writhing in the cold deep water. There was no person on the team with the special Gene, the Gene that would activate the time-ship, send that ship back in time where the survivor would cause the city to be modified to allow it to rise to the surface, to survive the lack of power... And a mere half-day later, another team of people received a response from a probe that told that the environment was hostile to their life. Their inheritance, that had been waiting ten thousand years for them to come, had been cruelly snatched away. Fin. Comments may be made Here
