What if Dr Bashir stopped existing?
^ After they get beamed up, only O'Brien re-materialises and no one sees anything wrong with that. As of that second, Bashir no longer exists. DS9 Season 5, Episode 6. From that point on, Bashir does not exist. What happens? I don't mean "what happens if we delete his character from X episode" - I'm on about the whole Section 31 thing, the relationship with Ezri, him being with Worf at the Dominion asteroid prison... It was the genetically engineered "freaks" who started the turn in the war with the Dominion - he was never there to communicate with them. For the sake of causality, he "existed" up until that point in the turbo-lift - therefore season 1-5.06 of DS9 happens as it did, but because of Q, all paradoxes are lifted - it's only from that point that he doesn't exist, it's just that no one bothers with it.

How I wish I'd been unborn, wish I was unliving here. I haul the bricks down, one by one; leave a big hole in the wall, just where you are looking in. |

The series becomes far more boring for a start with a bigger focus on Bajoran real polotik.
