Immortal. A Rob story.
He then lead you along the beach and stop at a spot, a few minutes later a strange shelled creature crawl up on land "Would you look at that...the first creature to ever put its little crawlys on land." He then look up at you "Now...where where i...oh yes. This is a copy of your universe and we are back in time. You are completely immortal. You...cant...die. You cant age. And don't worry about changing history, its not written yet." He bend down to pick up and pet the creature before handing it to you "Have fun" Before being gone in a flash!

Throw the shelled creature back into the water, and ascend as a being of pure paradox.

I end up trying to sleep...a lot. Particularly for the first 500 million to 1 billion years. After that, then I try to forge my own means of living semi-comfortably.
Hmm, what happens if I'm eaten by something? Can the predator simply find that they can't do anything to me, or am I ripped, gnashed, swallowed bit by bloody bit, and then passed through the thing's digestive system...and eventually reform on the other side?

I try not to alter history at all by sealing myself away, then I kill "myself" at this exact moment and continue on as if nothing happened.
Or I could do what that one guy in Xenosaga did and rule the world forever, but that seems like a lot of work.

Well, I suspect that with nothing to do, really (unless ROB has given us super-duper intelligence / powers etc?), and no one to talk to I go completely batshit insane, utterly bally doolally within about... oooh... at most the first 10-20 thousand years. And that is optimistic in the extreme.
This sounds wonderful for the first few weeks, months, maybe even years depending on how solipsistic we may be... and then a fairly literal living hell for the remaining billion or so years. Can ROB give us anything to sweeten the deal a little? |

While your memory is quite good you are unlikely to be able to remember any lesser details further than say...a thousand years? Bigger things you will be able to remember ofcrourse. So no worries, in five thousand years you wont be able how you got there other than something about some guy named Rob. Unless you start writing stuff down ofcourse...

Well then, it will be interesting to see how the world does end up.
I better do my best not to kill anything related to humans.

I go utterly batshit insane.
When humans evolve, I issue an ultimatum-you will develop the Internet, WarHammer 40k, and vidya, or I will kill you all and wait for another civilization to do the same. I could work better if I were given the abilities of a DF Dorf.

I try to breed Dino-cavalry.
Other than that? Just wait for humanity to evolve I guess and then guide its steps as the Immortal God Emperor of Mankind. By 2009, my humanity will be far more technologically advanced than the current, soon to be obsolute version. None of that Dark Age nonsense when I'm around. Anyone tries to burn a witch will answer to me. I use my knowledge ( Even if I don't know exactly how) To grant early bonuses to mankind. For example, I know that the Earth is round, I know steam can be used to power machines, I know just how complex machines can be and that with sufficient time, we can network computers together. I may not know how to do this, but even knowing it can be done will allow me to drive my civilization far faster than happened originally. |

Well, our memory is pretty good right? So, it should be immune to blunt force trauma.
I'll probably spend my time developing a machine/deathtrap that can reliably knock me unconcious for an extended period of time. Or I can try fermenting myself a HELL of a lot of booze, I'm talking enough booze to fill the Grand Canyon, and spending the next few millenia pissed out of my head. I wonder if there were any Narcotics around back then? I could try getting high off smoking dinosaurs!

I go insane. It's that simple: When you live for a few billion years, you're bound to lose a bunch of marbles.
Question about eating: We don't need to do it (being immortal), but will we be hungry if we don't? Same goes for drinking. Question #2: If we don't need to eat or drink... do we sweat? Do we defecate? I mean, logic would say "no", but, I mean, ROB's ROB. If the answer is "no" and "no" to these questions, then that greatly reduces the need for toilet paper and the like. Things to consider: ROB is said to flash in front of you and then take you to the beach. Logically, you would be carrying what you would normally have on your person at the time. For me? That means I'm going back in time with a: + Cell Phone. Fat lot of good that does. + House Keys. Can't use them as keys any more, but might be able to use the metal for other purposes. + Wallet w/ receipts, cash, coins, etcetera. Coins might be useable for some thing, money / receipts will likely be cannibalized for opening day toiletpaper / writing material / kindle, wallet is decent repair cloth, etcetera. + Shoes. Wonder how long these'll last. + Socks. See Shoes. + Pants. See Shoes. Also, if I'm in a consistently warm enough environment, I can "cannibalize" some of the cloth for other purposes (cut the legs). + Shirt. See Shoes. + Coat. See Shoes. On the plus side, lotsa pouches for carrying stuff and - as with the pants - can be "cannibalized" if the environment proves to consistently be warm. + Music Player w/ Headphones. Well, there's my last link to my old life. I use it as sparingly as possible, in the hope of preserving its batteries as long as possible so I can listen to the music over as long a period as possible. For the first few days, I'm probably going to be exploring. Land should still have trees if I'm not mistaken, or at least some form of plant life. I'll need to find some way to make shelter out of it, or find somewhere in the climate where I could live without worry of being buried alive for a few thousand / million years (I don't want to have to ride inside the planet's magma / lava until I hit a volcanic vent). Once I have a shelter, observe the local surroundings. Take notes (Luckily I can write small: Provided I had a writing tool on me at the time of nabbing ink might be a bigger concern than receipts), rinse and repeat. Move every now and then, especially considering when it might flood or something. Find something to entertain myself (create solitaire rocks, for instance). I'm going to need to find stuff to entertain me for a long, long time until enough / large enough animals are on land to start domesticating and the like. Or, or... Animals fear me / learn to associate harming me with their own demise. I train sharks to be rideable. I form Shark Cavalry, one time, for shits & giggles. There's no doubt that I'm going to go insane. Might as well make it worthwhile in that the first sentient species talks about a strange hairless hominid riding around on Giant Sharks raiding settlements with his strange animal herd. They'll listen to me, not the other speaking creatures. I'll attack coastlines with herds of Sharks & Crabs. I'll attack on land with massive Scorpions and Bears. |

Since i'm immortal i'll begin work on machines. I've got the advantage of knowing more than they did when they started so i should have an advanced home in a few million years. By the time humanity shows up i should have some good stuff.
First need to make make paper, and ink, and something to write with. Then start with the designs. Might just have to start off with carved rock tablets instead. Might go insane. But eventually that would get boring and it'd be right back to sanity again. Oh and i go with the Lucky thing instead of having them simply turn and run away. This gives me an ample supply of meat as all i have to do is walk into an area where there are things that want to eat me and wait for them to kill themselves trying.
