Though they are maneuvered extensively and often instructed by Germans or Italians, they lack combat experience as they weren't extensively utilized in the internal wars and the war with Uruguay. The only ones with experience are the carriers based at Montevideo which, coupled with well trained air wings, serve as a highly effective force which attempts somewhat successfully to emulate Imperial Japanese Navy. The rest of the force is competent but nothing beyond that. In general, the navy is deficient around the mid-range vessels but tends to get better around carriers, high end line ships and the real low end (500 and < ton tiny things) mostly cuz they could afford those easier while pumping the army. Underground movements to overthrow the existing junta first began under the leadership of Juan Peron, Carlos Verta and Fernando Martion succeeds in overthrowing the junta at the time, putting Peron to power. Fearing his partner during the revolution, Verta would attempt to wrest power from him, he has him assassinated. Due to known views of Juan Peron regarding Uruguay, the nation assists Verta in overthrowing Peron. Peron establishes movements to continue support of the Axis powers in Europe. Germany and Italy replace Britain as a market for the massive agriculture, leading to economic booming. Peron, though, dies of a heart attack. Fernando Martino succeeds the dead president, but, unlike the previous leader, does not give full support of the Axis powers. He is still very weary of their motives, and does not fully trust them. He instead sides with Britain and American supplies, and tries to form many alliances. Pressure is still growing in Uruguay as Paraguay, as the junta becomes more Axis-based and definitely tries to undermine the Republican authority. While growing tensions with Chile are being kept stable, Argentina is currently suffering from a torn two-faced diplomatic party - Axis, or Allies?

OOC Errata:
- Moderators, if you haven't seen it already, note that the Romanian airforce now includes the IAR-80C, an aircraft that I had intended to produce since the game's beginning and erronously filled orders for with erroneous listings of IAR-81C and -81B models. I've rectified this - not a major issue since most of the designs are very similar -, and the recent Orders of Battle factor in IAR-80C production only from Jan 1944 onwards. - Clanner, I have a copy of some Latin American Orders of Battle. Fenris, I can provision you with one if you'd like to see some data on the Argentine military of the day. Do note, Clanner, that Argentina was a fairly industrial South American nation, and certainly a powerful voice in politics at least in its hemisphere. The rate of GDP, however, is a point of reference which can be decieving. Despite that benefit, Argentina also held many, many unemployed. It was merely the status of European immigrant life and per-capita income for the working class that bouyed the factor. Also, following the major powers of the day - England, France, Italy, USSR, USA, Germany, and Japan -, Argentina, Brazil, Sweden, Poland, Czechslovakia, Chile, Romania, Finland, and Turkey were not so far behind as they are today.

St Louis Automotives unveiled their first working prototype of the new AAT-1 Amphibious Assualt Tank for the Brazilian Military. The impressive vechile made a quick trip from the shop to the bay, to the 1st marker and back. They did not fire the weapons, but it did prove to be nibble in both water and on land. Hopes are that this vechile will be ready for production by mid October of 1944. The Brazilian Military plans to use this vechile in combination with the TLV-1 of Graham Paige to form Special Combat Amphibious Units to work in conjucture with the recently ordered amphibious support ships. St. Louis Automotives is also hopeing that several other nations will take notice of this new piece of equipment and provide additional orders. |

Im going to join as Chile
Ive got the OOB: Chiléan Order of Battle ... Nation: The Federated State of Greater Chilé Territories: Chilé Population: 15,500,000 Government: Military Junta under Republican auspice Capital: Santiago, Chilé Currency: Peso(d), Reichmark(f) Industry: Pathetic Economy: Beyond Repair Merchant Marine: 1 million tons Resources: fishmeal, coffee, copper, nitrates, precious metals, silver, timber, tin, iron ores, tungsten, zinc, natural gas, patroleum, cereals, fruits/vegetables, coal, livestock National Advantages: • Well-trained, battle-hardened military strenghtened via stable chains-of-command and competant junior officers with up to a decade of experiance in the field. • Copious amounts of aid furnished by Europe's fascist governments, including those of Rome and Berlin. Disadvantages: 1) Inclusion of modern naval and air arms into the Furenzas Terristas remains a difficult process despite considerable aid from sources both German and Italian. 2) The lack of any coherent industrial basis of even the most limited size, and a severe shortage - indeed starvation for - machine tools and mechanized staples. 3) Pathetic economy only now rising - questionably - from the grips of utter Depression, fueled by rising inflation, overemphasis on military gains, and an almost non-existant industrial- or academic-minded population. Only those Destroyers based in Concepcion are modern. Her Submarine force is likewise outdated, yet effective. To Britain:
We respect your stand, but we are still requesting that you withdraw most of your military assests from Gibraltor. Currentley they worry our countries people and are undoubtly a strain on your military. On other matters we wish to sign a non-aggression treaty between our two nations so as to show friendship.

Subj: On the Subject of Munitions Stat: Diplomatic Courier Package Bucharesti, greatful for the continued support of Berlin, shall endeavor to transfer additional quantities of crude and refined product to Germany via rail this coming year. Payment in hard currency for munitions orders is also likely. We impress upon Germany, however, the necessity of provisioning Romanian units with no piece lesser than 75mm in calibre on the divisional level and again place an order for these in great abundance. Romania would also appreciate the transfer of infantry kits, support weaponary, and such equippage to our regional depots by German interests. Furthermore, we look forward to the esatablishment of additional tractor factories in both Brasov and Bucharesti. This does not mitigate our present need, however, and perhaps an effort to ship motorized farm impliments at a sooner date would be more according. Rest assured as well that Romania will not endanger the precious balance of Turkish exports via our territory, nor shall we permit that it is broken by representatives of Ankara.

Jeez Oshay. You're even more stubborn than the real British Government back in the 40's. The British were under considerable pressure from sides in the British House of Commons and the House of Lords to withdraw from Gibraltor in the 40's, 50's and 60's. In 1967 the Spanish requested the withdrawl of Britain from Gibraltor. When they refused it turned into a Mexican standoff with people from Gibraltor unable to leave via land. I just hope that you will eventually give up your stubborness and agree. You would be handsomely compensated. IC: The German and Itallian would most likely support the signing of a non-aggression treaty.
