Seas of Steel (Part 15)
World data goes here. PM me anything you want added in, name changes for colonies, movement of colonists to increase local population and so forth. A note on population expansion so you can have an idea of how I'm adjusting the numbers (Having read up some books on population expansion I've miodified this slightly). The assumption is that most of the nations on the A, B, C, D, and E continents are grossly underpopulated. As such their base population gain is a staggering 10% a year. This is adjusted to 20% for nations with rich food sources (or two normal, with fruits and livestock counting as 1/2), and 30% for those with greater than rich. Other more populous nations (in general any NPC state over 3 million, though those on I and F with populations lower than this are because of inhospitable land, not underpopulation) are assumed to have greater restrictions. Gain for most NPC states ranges from 1% - 3% a year, based on the same criteria. The exception to this are the Nazca and Zoetec who because of enforced use of fertility drugs and vast food resources see a gain of 3-9% Most of our nations would see a rise of 1-3% based on that criteria, with some of the overcrowded and urban ones (Dassen, Gondoa) coming in at .2 - .6%. This rate includes a level of migration, though not specific mass exodus'. World Map: http://www.geocities.com/huntingwolf1/index.html North Western Continent, Nilisia: Equivalent to 1890s Europe. Starting place of all industrialised nations. A-Continent, Anditria: Until contact with the Nilisians it was a remote place though with numerous sizeable and wealthy nations comparable to Europe of the early 1700s. Crash modernisation now sees many of the nations on par with their Bernicean cousins. The Commonwealth dominates this continent as a political, financial, and most recently, military entity. Resources: Copper, some Iron, some Coal, some Gold, Fish, some Timber B-Continent, Bernicea: Possessed of many nations comparable in size to the Industrialised nations of the world, only a lack of industrial resources and modern medicines prevented any major world powers from arising from these lands. This continent has been ravaged by war, and is in need of serious rebuilding. Hardest hit are Halvas (which suffered an extermination campaign under Prussian rule) and Veiland (which was largely flatteed in the final months of the war). B-1: Durham. Population: 106,000. Through some geological cataclysm, the volcanoes exploded, leaving a broken, mountainous land with accessible metals, but with few other redeeming qualities. The Locals call it Dasachar, Dahrakar, or a number of other various similar names. The Nilisians simply call it what it is. Blasted D-1: Echrendar/the Shattered Isles/Gehenna. The lands North-East of the mountains are barren, the legacy of the violent cataclysm that stattered the Blasted Lands before written history. F-Continent. Fazaca/Fajhistan:
Geography: Fajhistan is a huge and long continent that runs a gamut of types. In the north it is made up of thick almost impenetrable equatorial jungle surrounding inland peaks that almost reach the heights of those in Isenyela. However, for those who journey this deep inland the view is significantly more enchanting, with endless waterfalls and palm covered peaks. The center of the continent becomes wide savannahs (many created by extensive irrigation works) interspersed with the occasional desert, and the south finally slides up into hilly grasslands and low mountains. It is a temperate land, with a wide spread of resources. Inhabitants: The people of Fajhistan fall into three groups, each separated from the other by culture and geography: The Northern Jungles (which the locals call Fazaca rather than Fajhistan) are a sweep of contrasts, from primitive pygmy tribes to the advanced and wealthy Nazca and Zoetec civilisations. Some of their tech is more advanced than even Nilisian – like in astronomy, agriculture and architecture. Weapons are on–par with 1860s tech (breech loading rifles and cannon) however the Nazca and Zoetec have developed a number of unique and incredibly deadly devices not seen anywhere else - their chemical science leaves that of Nilisia in the dust. The massive pyramidal cities of these people poke out of the jungle and mountains and are some of the most amazing sights in the world. These civilisations are both are ruled by God-Emperors who are seen as the embodiment of the divine. Priests form a governing religio-political caste. Under this absolute rule rest a staggeringly vast number of citizens – due to agricultural sophistication including a number of specially bred crops the Empire’s have food in abundance. This population base means that the armies of these Empires are monstrously huge, numbering many millions each.. If the two civilisations would only co-operate they might well rule the continent, however they are locked in a state of perpetual war going back a millennia. The duration is due to the resources of both Empires and the difficulty of fighting over the mountainous and jungle terrain, rather than any unwillingness on the part of either combatant to crush the other. Despite their proximity, a series of wide rivers, thick jungle and mountain ridges separate Nazca and Zoetec, forcing the war to be fought around the flanks. The pygmies of course are always caught in these battles. This war has effectively isolated the northern part of the continent from the rest of the world since foreigners are generally killed on sight and out of hand by all parties. The Central Lowlands are dominated by the most powerful organisation on the continent: The Caliphate of Azhir. The Caliphate is a civilisation basking in the glow of a slowly fading golden age. It is formed out of seven separate kingdoms which formed a loose unity to share and preserve art, wealth and knowledge as the rest of the local civilisation slid into a dark age. Its rulers are the Seven Caliphs, who form a governing council called – unsurprisingly – the Council of Seven. The Caliphs are chosen through an elaborate system of merit and peer-election which has served – so far – to provide the Caliphate with intelligent and capable sovereigns. For a time the Caliphate was the most advanced civilisation in the world but it has stagnated somewhat in the past century, and while its tech is theoretically on par with Nilisia much has not been widely applied – Industry in particular is minimal. A strong army is maintained, but while the Caliphate’s awesome navy is not to be trifled with, it has languished over the past few decades as lack of international trade or travel, or an even close local rival has made it somewhat redundant and thus led to neglect. The people of the Caliphate consider themselves the most sophisticated in the world and are immensely content with their lot, as the Caliphate is well governed with a high standard of living. While the clear arbiter of regional affairs, the Caliphate is very inward-looking and does not overly concern itself with the affairs of others when they have no immediate bearing on the Caliphate. Overall the Caliphate can be describes as “beautifully majestic.” This is in contrast to the rest of the land not under the Caliphate for which the words “squalid corruption” are most apt. The states around the Seven Kingdoms are in some ways a dark reflection of the glories of the Caliphate. There, the social conditions of the citizenry are almost mediaeval, and petty tyrants calling themselves “Sultans” hold sway over oppressed and subservient populaces. Only their armies by which they maintain their power are fully modern. The worst is the so-called “Magium of Keseri”, ruled over by the self-proclaimed Sorcerer King Shadat al’Essef whose dark plans are forming a growing web over the world. The Southern Highlands are populated by a number of powerful city states. The states grew out of wandering tribes that finally settled down. Many of them are grouped under an organisation known as the Malawi Mktaba. The Mktaba (Pact) was formed in response to the Southern state’s growing power and desire to have an organisation that could match the Caliphate. It is even less a unified political body than the Caliphate – rather it is an alliance of common purpose. The Mktabu (Pact members) are not in direct conflict with the Caliphate, indeed many of the members supply mercenaries to the Caliphate, and trade it much needed resources, however it is realised that the Caliphate will not be around forever, and the Mktabu are prepared to take up its torch once it falls, however long that may take. There is a great sense of manifest destiny in these proud people. The Southern states are just below the Caliphate in weapons tech, but significantly further behind in other areas, save perhaps industry. The citizens are hard working, throw mean parties and make formidable warriors. Freedom is valued, and the rule of the day is a form of limited monarchy, where the King or Queen is overseen by a council of the leading citizens. Where the Nazca and Zoetec are trapped in a spiral of self-destruction, the Caliphate is coasting on past glories and the Sultanates rotting, the Mktabu are vibrant and rising. They may be the weakest of the three main power groups on the continent, but they have the strongest future ahead. A Key Element: Fajhistan often calls itself the birthplace of human civilisation. It may indeed be right, but more importantly to the other nations of the world it is the birthplace of the Red Death: a lethal plague that wiped out much of the populations of Anditria, Bernicea and Etheem in a recent outbreak. Nilisia got off lightly due to medicine and quarantine, and most of the surviving world population still retains a level of immunity to it, nevertheless the plague remains in Fajhistan and is the greatest threat to foreigners. The locals remain largely unaffected (the sickness is still an inconvenience to them, but rarely fatal or long lasting), but any foreigner spending too much time in Fajhistan (particularly the Northern Jungles) is very likely to fall sick, perhaps even die if not given medical treatment. Treatment can range from simple doses of various medicines, to hospitalisation lasting years, depending on severity of the case. This has led to Fajhistan being essentially quarantined, a situation that suits most of the locals just fine. F-1 Tuegalpa. Population: 593,000. Attitude: Paranoid-Peaceful. Isenyela: Geography: Isenyela is a large continent that impacted into the Antarctic landmass millions of years ago. It is characterised by cool winter temperatures and absolutely frigid summer temperatures, long hours of daylight and night, and fierce storms. The land is rocky and fairly rich in resources, rising out of the sea, climbing up to sharp peaks (the highest in the world) and then descending into glacial plains and finally the Antarctic icecap. To the north the land is thickly forested with coniferous trees and the soil is moderately fertile – when it thaws at least. As it climbs up the mountains trees still cling amidst the rocks, often in great numbers, but the southern face is desolation. Swept by the frigid winds coming up from the pole, little exists here, and out to the glaciers the population of both plants and animals drops off drastically. Inhabitants: The people of Isenyela are very hardy folk. Many of the outer tribes are small and relatively friendly, if wary. However, the interior is dominated by the fearsome Uragan – a xenophobic warrior society that has tamed many of the native beast for use in war. The animals of this land include such creatures as caribou, wolves, seals, penguins, arctic falcons, ice beetles, polar bears and the most fearsome and legendary woolly mammoths and snow-tigers. Culture and Tech Level: Isenyela is rooted in the “bone age”, with most tools made of what can be created from animal hide and sinew. Populations are small and mobile mostly in little more than extended family groupings. The one exception is the Uragan, who have discovered domestication and iron, agriculture and permanent housing, and methods of organised warfare, and even wooden ships both for sea and ice. The have built what could even be called cities. They utterly dominate their area of land. The Uragan believe they are following a doomed celestial destiny, as warned of by an apocalyptic prophet five centuries ago. They have advanced knowledge of the stars, and believe that a great demon will eventually descend from the sky to destroy them. Rather than fear, this prospect fills them with grim determination: they do not intend to go without a fight. To further that aim they have managed to gain vast amounts of obsolete rifles, and even sizeable stocks of modern ones, and now they are organizing to defend their borders against the coming evil. Apart from this belief, the inhabitants of Isenyela are and intensely pragmatic people who consider everything, even the gods, as just another part in the vast weave of life. I-1 Yamyr. Views foreigners with suspicion and do not welcome them nor encourage contact. Will fight at the drop of a hat, or at least with provocation. -Militant Expantionist: Wishes wider ranges of power and dominion, and willing to kick ass to get it. They will form alliances, when it benefits them, and drop them just as easily. Fickle and dangerous, especially if you trust them. -Paranoid: Peaceful, but doesn't trust foreigners as far as they can throw them. Thse are the bunches that'll stick their noses into everything looking to the knife waiting to stab them in the back. Distractions, delays, and even sabotage are common. -Hostile: For some reason or another, they HATE outsiders. Entering thier lands means death, by fight or by silent dagger in the night. -Militant-Hostile: A nightmare. Homicidal tenancies and the organized government and military to persue it on a wide-level. Don't try making alliances with them, unless you like training new diplomats. Just far enough above subsistance level that it's probably worth the effort to mine them.

DESTROYERS
Lejardenclass destroyer escort http://www.warships1.com/BRd1d08_E_pic1.jpg The Lejarden is a Leifahr but so heavily modified it is considered a different ship by the Anditian nations, for whom the design was comissioned. It is still primarily an ASW combatant, but many changes have been made. Primary among them is a significant up-gunning of the vessel, as this was a major weakness of the old class. The downside of this is that the added weight, while offset for the purpose of speed and range by new turbines and more fuel storage, makes the ship a little less seaworthy, something that was never a virtue of the class in the first place: A long patrol in rough seas can be a sickening experience for the unseasoned sailor. In the Freismarine the Lejarden is sometimes called the Leifahr Mod B. The Mod B is actually a slightly different refit of a number of older Leifahrs, but is functionally very similar. Dimensions: 96' long 874 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 2 oil fired turbines powering 2 shafts range of 8,600 nm at 15 kts 25 kts Armour None Armament: 2 x 4.1” in single mounts (1 fore, 1 aft) 2 x 40mm machineguns in single mounts (1 fore, 1 aft) 4 x .50 machineguns in dual mounts (1 port, 1 starboard) 4 Depth charge launchers. Keljare class destroyers http://www.warships1.com/BRd1d23_Versatile_strbrd.jpg The final upgrade of the venerable Kestor encompasses a number of changes, and stretches the design to its very limit, wringing every last drop of capability from the hull. The class features a number of all around improvements, and bears very little resemblance to the first Kestors of 1880’s vintage. In fact, they do not go by the name Kestor using instead the Anditrian moniker, “Keljare.” Dimensions: 298' long 1,320 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 2 oil fired turbines powering 2 shafts range of 9,000 nm at 15 kts 30 kts Armour None Armament: 8 x 4.1” in dual mounts (2 fore, 1 center, 1 aft) 4 x .50 machineguns in twin mounts 4 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline) 10 torpedoes total 4 Depth charge launchers. Gefreizar Mod A class fleet destroyer http://www.warships1.com/GERdd36_Z20_prt.jpg The fleet destroyer concept is that of a ship that can engage in fleet actions and come away victorious. Born of Dassen’s distaste for the battleline these destroyers are true cruiser killers. Using Dassen’s knowledge as world leader in turbine technology, and with the weight saved by switching to oil fired engines, they are sickeningly fast and nimble, and pack a torpedo punch that, if properly delivered, can sink a battleship. Due to the insane speed of their attack runs however, they usually only fire one of their tube banks in an attack, as if they do not turn away they often overrun their own weapons. Enterprising captains have overcome this limitation by stacking more of the tubes to one side before an attack. This is practice is often disguised by wooden facsimiles on the opposite side to hide intent. The Gefriezar also carries depth charges in case of submarine entanglements, but in general sub chasing is left to other less capable classes. These ships are excellent seakeepers and probably the best single ship design to come out of the Krauss yards in years. Dimensions: 330' long 1,550 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 3 oil fired turbines powering 3 shafts range of 6,800 nm at 15 kts 37 kts Armour None, but very sturdy design Armament: 6 x 4.1” in double mounts (2 fore, 1 aft) 2 x 40mm machineguns 8 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline, standard configuration 4/4, often changed to 6/2, even 8/0 on rare occasions) 12 torpedoes total 2 Depth charge launchers. Zelander class destroyer http://www.warships1.com/GERdd36a_Z38_strbrdfrt.jpg The Zelander is the new design for Dassen’s destroyers of the future. In the past ships were often overly specialised. The Prussian War showed that to properly function destroyers had to be “jacks of all trades,” and that overspecialisation was for vessels like escorts and torpedo boats. The Zelander builds on this experience; larger and heavier than past ships, it is capable of performing all tasks; from fleet work, to convoy escort. One key feature of the design is the move to gunning it with new, powerful, fast firing 5.9” weapons as compared to the 3”, 3.5” and 4” weapons mounted on past ships. This was undertaken in part due to the power conferred by the 40mm mounts in close range fighting; ranges where in the past it had been deemed 6” class weapons were less effective. Dimensions: 342' long 2,050 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 3 oil fired turbines powering 3 shafts range of 7,350 nm at 15 kts 35 kts Armour None, but very sturdy design Armament: 4 x 5.9” in double mounts (1 fore, 1 aft) 4 x 40mm machine guns in single mounts (2 port, 2 starboard) 6 x .50 machineguns in three dual mounts (1 port/fore, 1 starboard/fore, 1 aft) 8 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline) 16 torpedoes total 4 Depth charge launchers. CRUISERS Nabelung class cruiser: http://www.warships1.com/GERcl19_Weisbaden_prt2.jpg Originally a sub par escort cruiser, the Nabelungs have recently undergone a major refit, fitting them for their new role as destroyer leader as the newer Opneim cruisers take their place on the seaways. The refit made them quite deadly vessels, with new engines and improved armaments. The removal of the below waterline tubes as well as the new expansion geared turbine engines has lead to a quantum increase in their speed. While effective, this class is now a bit long in the tooth, but is kept in service as it is still effective, and there is a lack of sufficiently numerous replacements. There are no plans to refit it though, and it retains the older 3.5” weapons rather than the newer 88mm or even 105mm (4.1”) ones. Dimensions: 385' long 3,820 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 2 oil fired turbines powering 2 shafts range of 5,000 nm at 15 kts 32 kts Armour Belt: 1.5” Deck: 1.5” Tower: 3” Turrets: 2” Armament: 14 x 3.5” in seven double mounts (2 fore, 2 centre/staggered, 3 aft) 8 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline) 16 torpedoes total Ceres class cruiser: http://www.warships1.com/BRcl16_Cardiff_prtfrt.jpg Ordered after heavy casualties to the cruiser forces in the final battles of 1892, the Ceres class were drawn from a number of other basic Dassian designs and intended for quick construction and deployment. Their seakeeping is not quite as good as some other Dassian designs nor is their endurance but they do pack a fair punch and carry a little more amour than most other Dassian light cruisers. Surprisingly for Dassian ships, they’re very cheap, leading the Anditian nations to order this class in bulk. Dimensions: 450' long 5,020 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 2 oil fired turbines powering 2 shafts range of 5,000 nm at 15 kts 29.5 kts Armour Belt: 3” Deck: 1.5” Tower: 3” Turrets: 2” Armament: 5 x 5.9” in five single mounts (2 fore, 1 amidships, 2 aft) 8 x 88mm in eight single mounts 6 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline) 10 torpedoes total Opneim Mod B class raiding cruiser: http://www.warships1.com/GERcl22_Coeln_strbrd.jpg The Opniem bears a designation borne from Dassen’s somewhat excessive focus on aggressive tactics. In truth, given Dassen’s needs, these ships should be escort cruisers, but Naval Command got somewhat side-tracked during the design phase, and instead ended up creating a ship perfectly suited for raiding the very kind of commerce it should have been focussing on protecting. Fast (there are recorded instances of ships achieving 34 knots in combat), with a strong punch thanks to being somewhat over gunned with 8.5” weapons rather than the more usual 6” weapons and possessing unparalleled high-speed endurance, they are often used as fleet scouts. An exceptionally good ship, and another brilliant success for the Krauss Yards, but not really what the Freismarine needed. Dimensions: 490' long 7,810 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 2 oil fired turbines powering 2 shafts range of 8,000 nm at 20 kts 32 kts Armour Belt: 2.5” Deck: 2.5” Tower: 3” Turrets: 2.5” Armament: 4 x 8.5”L60 in four single mounts (1 fore, 2 center/staggered, 1 aft) 12 x 88mm in six double mounts 8 x 21 torpedo tubes (above waterline) 16 torpedoes total Macht class super-heavy cruiser: http://www.warships1.com/BRbc08_NZealand_prt.jpg Three of these impressive armoured cruisers were claimed from Prussia by Dassia. They were refitted as heavy cruisers, with armament changed to 8.5” weapons. In this role they are quite effective, if slower than Dassen’s other contemporary vessels. They are also the first of Dassen’s unique 10 gun heavy cruiser configuration. Dimensions: 467' long 16,050 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 4 coal fired engines powering 2 shafts range of 15,000 nm at 12 kts 24 kts Armour Belt: 7” Deck: 3” Tower: 8” Turrets: 4” Armament: 10 x 8.5”L60 in 2 triple turrets, (1 fore, 1 aft) and 2 twin turrets (2 center staggered) 12 x 5.9” in 6 twin turrets 12 x 88mm in single mounts 2 x 40mm machineguns in single mounts 6 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline) 12 torpedoes total Dassmarch class heavy escort cruiser: http://www.warships1.com/BRcl10_Frobisher_43.jpg The Dassmarch ships were built to be powerful escort vessels, cheaper than armoured cruisers but capable of outgunning any likely raider, and even able to mess with the odd submarine. The Freismarine designed these ships with an eye to the writing on the wall; with the advent of submarines and battlecruisers the days of the armoured cruiser were becoming numbered, and ships like the Nordwind that could fight the trend were far too expensive. The decision was made to equip the Dassmarch vessels with coal fired engines like those on the freighters they were expected to escort to simplify supply, though at cost of lowered cruising range. They are a hotbed of new technologies introducing welded armour techniques, triple turrets, expansion steam turbines (diesel in the newer versions which has extended cruising range), stereoscopic/tele-optic sights, wireless systems, more advanced ship layout including better ammo handling arrangements, and the new 8.5L60 “longbarrel” (this has all been kept very secret, and few understand just how revolutionary these ships are). To date, though they have been heavily engaged in all theatres of war, only one Nordwind class cruiser has been lost – during the pyrrhic battle of the Arctic Lights to a suicide attack by LZ-93. Dimensions: 502' long 12,500 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 3 coal fired turbine engines powering 3 shafts range of 7,800 nm at 12 kts 27 kts Armour Belt: 6” Deck: 3” Tower: 6.5” Turrets: 4.5” Armament: 6 x 8.5”L60 in 2 triple turrets, 1 fore, 1 aft 8 x 5.9” in 4 twin turrets 12 x 88mm in 12 single mounts 4 x 21” torpedo tubes (below waterline) 16 torpedoes total Zaurberin class cruiser http://www.warships1.com/GERcl26_Leipzig_strbrd.jpg This class was developed as a quantum leap in cruiser technology to match the proposed Westwind class. Making use of the new triple turrets it packs its armament in tightly, within a sleek, seaworthy hull. Most deadly of all is its staggering one-shot torpedo armament, achieved by the banks of torpedo tubes on its forward deck. Dimensions: 505' long 6,470 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 4 oil fired turbines powering 2 shafts range of 6,100 nm at 15 kts 30 kts Armour Belt: 3” Deck: 2” Tower: 3” Turrets: 2” Armament: 9 x 5.9” in three triple turrets (1 fore, 2 aft) 8 x 88mm in four twin turrets (2 port, 2 starboard) 4 x 40mm machineguns 16 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline in four quadruple launchers behind the tower) 28 torpedoes total Westwind class heavy cruiser http://www.warships1.com/GERbc07_Lut...rdfrt-Bern.jpg In a way, the Westwind is a Nordwind-lite. It packs the same firepower, but in a less well armoured hull. Nevertheless it is an excellent vessel, with a number of advances over its more powerful, but over-costly predecessor. Particular attention has been paid to improved anti-aircraft ability as the Freismarine has noted the victories of airships, and is keeping an eye to the future. Dimensions: 548' long 12,000 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 3 oil fired turbine engines powering 3 shafts range of 16,000 nm at 15 kts 28 kts Armour Belt: 4” Deck: 2” Tower: 3” Turrets: 4” Armament: 6 x 8.5”L60 in 2 triple turrets (1 fore, 1 aft) 8 x 5.9” in 4 twin turrets (2 port, 2 starboard) 8 x 88mm in 4 twin turrets (2 port, 2 starboard) 4 x 40mm machineguns 8 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline) 12 torpedoes total Magewind class heavy cruiser http://www.warships1.com/GERbc07_Lut...rdfrt-Bern.jpg The Magewind pushes the very edge of the Naval Limitation bill’s tonnage limit. It uses the unique Dassian 10-gun/8.5” heavy cruiser configuration, in a greater divergence from the Nordwind concept. Despite this it is very similar to the Westwind design, and Westwinds mounting false turret mockups are easily mistaken for the more powerful Magewind. Dimensions: 592' long 15,000 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 3 oil fired turbine engines powering 3 shafts range of 15,000 nm at 15 kts 28 kts Armour Belt: 5” Deck: 2” Tower: 3” Turrets: 5” Armament: 10 x 8.5”L60 in 2 triple turrets (1 fore, 1 aft) and 2 superfiring twin turrets (1 fore, 1 aft) 8 x 5.9” in 4 twin turrets (2 port, 2 starboard) 8 x 88mm in 4 twin turrets (2 port, 2 starboard) 6 x 40mm machineguns 8 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline) 12 torpedoes total BATTLECRUISERS Raechen class battlecruiser: (Raechen, Realicht, Okiria) http://www.warships1.com/BRbc12_Renown_30_strbrd.jpg The Raechens were taken from Prussia as war prizes at wars end. Compared to Dassian battlecruisers they are very thin skinned, but the Freismarine saw a lot of potential in them for a raider/counter raider role. The turbines were brought up to Dassian standards and the underwater torpedoes removed, gaining another knot of speed and far more reliability. Most importantly the weapons were brought down to triple 11” rifles. The rationale for this was that the 11” was all that was needed for hunting the ships the Raechen would most likely encounter, and the reduction in calibre allowed massive increases in turret and internal armour to prevent the magazine explosions that claimed three of Prussia’s battlecruisers during the war. Dimensions: 754' long 29,220 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 8 oil fired engines powering 4 shafts range of 12,000 nm at 15 kts 33 kts Armour Belt: 6” Deck: 3” Tower: 10” Turrets: 16” Armament: 9 x 11” in 3 triple turrets, 2 fore, 1 aft 12 x 5.9” in six double mounts 6 x 88mm in single mounts 4 x 40mm machineguns in single mounts 8 x 21” torpedoes (above waterline) 12 torpedoes total Regentes Valreya battlecruiser: (Regentes Valreya, Adelphis Disenys, Apollion, Niyrene, Alexis Arjenta, Vistas Cyreil) http://www.warships1.com/GERbc01_VDerTann_strbrdfrt.jpg The Regentes Valreya are developments of the Blucher class, though much has been changed to incorporate new knowledge. Decidedly light and small ships next to the current monsters Dassen is fielding, they are nevertheless the largest and most powerful vessels ever seen in the Anditrian navies. A key departure in the design is the incorporation of 12” rather than 11” weapons. The 12” rifles used are from a Kroda design that was not accepted for use by the Freismarine which already was wedded to the 11” concept, and so was sold to the Commonwealth on the cheap. This is providential, since the Kroda 12” would otherwise have been lamented as one of the great lost weapons of history – it is a fantastic design and lethally effective – almost as much so as the Krauss 13.5”. Accuracy is on par with that of the 11”, range is greater, though it cannot match the rate of fire of the 11”. All in all it gives the Anditrian ships quite a punch. Dimensions: 560' long 21,500 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 3 coal fired turbines powering 3 shafts range of 6,000 nm at 12 kts 28 kts Armour Belt: 9” Deck: 4” Tower: 7.5” Turrets: 8” Armament: 8 x 12” in 4 double turrets, 1 fore, 2 amidships, 1 aft 10 x 5.9” in single mounts 12 x 88mm in 12 single mounts Schaen battlecruiser: (Schaen, Stantaller -sunk, Schanzow, Suvarn - sunk) (Schifflau, Seffstein, Solbrecht, Streben) http://www.warships1.com/GERbc02_Moltke_prt2.jpg The Schaen vessels are part of the “S” class and Dassen’s first purpose built battlecruisers. The “S” class gets its names from the layout of the ships five twin turrets. These ships are lethally fast, well armed and well protected. Their sturdy construction is intended to keep them afloat despite massive damage, as well as provide a stable firing platform. In fact, the decision to retain dual turrets instead of the more common triple turrets was driven by the increased accuracy and rate of fire gained by using only a twin system. They use an oil/coal hybrid system, due to the limited supplies of fuel oil Dassen had on hand when they were conceived. The current refits have removed all major differences between the Schaens and the succeeding Schifflau sub-class. Dimensions: 620' long 26,800 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 4 oil/coal fired turbines powering 4 shafts range of 8,000 nm at 15 kts 28.5 kts Armour Belt: 11” Deck: 4” Tower: 9” Turrets: 9” Armament: 10 x 11” in 5 double turrets, 1 fore, 2 amidships (staggered), 2 aft 12 x 5.9” in single mounts 12 x 88mm in single mounts 4 x 21” torpedo tubes (below waterline) 12 torpedoes total Eitel battlecruiser: (Eitel, Aergern, Krone, Orion) http://www.warships1.com/GERbc04_Hindenburg_prt2.jpg The Eitel class are the part of Dassia’s new breed of ship, while still bearing traces of the old. A more advanced design, they still use coal fired boilers. This makes them the last class of Dassian ship to do so, though as it the Schaen class an oil hybrid system is used. Somewhat slower than other Dassian battlecruisers due to significantly improved protection they fill an interim role: The following Drachen class followed directly from the Eitels which can be considered working prototypes. Dimensions: 695' long 31,050 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 4 oil/coal fired turbines powering 4 shafts range of 12,000 nm at 15 kts 26.5 kts Armour Belt: 12” Deck: 3” Tower: 12” Turrets: 10.5” Armament: 12 x 11” in 4 triple turrets, 2 fore, 2 aft 12 x 5.9” in single mounts 6 x 88mm in single mounts 4 x 21” torpedo tubes (below waterline) 12 torpedoes total Drachen battlecruiser: (Drachen, Daemon, Zangist, Kobold, Vulcan, Lindwurm, Invictus, Warg) http://www.warships1.com/GERbc04_Derfflinger_prttp.jpg Awesomely powerful battlecruisers, the Drachens follow directly from the preceding Eitels. They are better in every way, faster, better protected, and as the first Dassian battlecruiser to mount 13.5” weapons, better armed. In fact, the 13.8” guns and turrets on the Drachens are of a new design and are significantly superior to the 13.5” weapons carried on the Schrecken class. These ships are in fact fast battleships, capable of going toe to toe with dreadnoughts, and of outrunning almost any other cruiser. Dimensions: 735' long 35,000 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 4 oil fired turbines powering 4 shafts range of 16,000 nm at 15 kts 28 kts Armour Belt: 12” Deck: 4” Tower: 13” Turrets: 12.5” Armament: 8 x 13.8” in 4 twin turrets, 2 fore, 2 aft 12 x 5.9” in single mounts 8 x 88mm in single mounts 6 x 21” torpedo tubes (below waterline) 14 torpedoes total DREADNOUGHTS AND HEAVY SHIPS Karsgard Class Heavy Monitor (Karsgard, Kolgard) http://www.warships1.com/Weapons/WNB..._Wolfe_pic.jpg The Karsgard class were developed to use the original 18” Krauss guns. They are essentially lumbering siege platforms. Armour on the whole is light, save anti torpedo defences which are prodigious. Neither ship has yet seen action, and it is unknown how well the concept will perform. Dimensions: 380' long 9,200 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 2 coal fired engines powering 2 shafts range of 4,000 nm at 10 kts 15 kts Armour Belt: 6” (mostly torpedo and mine protection) Deck: 2” Tower: 2” Turrets: 3” Armament: 1 x 18” in 1 single turret (fore) 4 x 5.9” in single mounts 4 x 88mm in single mounts Severinge Class Coastal Battleship (Severinge, Viborn, Volmarch, Zaacha, Koningslar, Graf Kraden, Dorind, Farjold) http://www.warships1.com/SWEca10_DV_ice40.jpg The Severinge class were created to fill an interesting niche; a coastal shallow draught warship for limited duties. The idea is to free up other blue-water ships for ocean duty by putting these ships on more enclosed stations that would otherwise need a full dreadnought, such as the northern waters. The design concept was made possible by a bit of a revolution in 15.2” loading systems, allowing the ship to develop a high rate of fire despite only four main rifles. They’re slow, but they can travel in very shallow waters, and are exceedingly tough, especially against torpedoes and most especially mines. They are in fact quite a nasty shock for an attacker if the fight occurs in the Severinge’s home waters. These ships actually exceed the tonnage limits fully loaded, which is why they were listed with their empty weight and armed with triple 11” weapons (which actually ended up on the refitted Raechens) to get them past the censors. Dimensions: 425' long 16,200 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 4 oil fired turbines powering 4 shafts range of 3,000 nm at 15 kts 20 kts Armour Belt: 14” Deck: 4” Tower: 8” Turrets: 10” Armament: 4 x 15.2” in 2 twin turrets, 1 fore, 1 aft 14 x 5.9” in seven twin turrets 8 x 88mm in four twin turrets 4 x 40mm in single mounts 12 x 21” torpedo tubes (above waterline) 24 torpedoes total (often used for mine storage instead) Schrecken Class Dreadnought (Schrecken, Saar, Stazzen, Sadgren, Sadzen, Salberg – sunk, Stallheim, Syditz, Seelitz, Schondal) http://www.warships1.com/GERbb04_Kaiserin-Bern.jpg The Schreken is another vessel in the “S” class, so designated because of the staggered pattern of its center turrets. These battleships are designed to be tough and fast, showing the heritage of their design in the Dassian battlecruiser concept. The ships are now undergoing a series of refits to modernize their armaments and armour scheme, especially the addition of more anti-air weapons. The removal of the torpedo armament and some work on the turbines has allowed more fuel bunkerage and a 1 knot increase in speed. It was debated on whether to up gun them to 13.8” weapons, but was decided the work would be too lengthy. Dimensions: 610' long 28,350 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 3 coal fired turbines powering 3 shafts range of 10,000 nm at 10 kts 24 kts Armour Belt: 14” Deck: 5” Tower: 10” Turrets: 10” Armament: 10 x 13.5” in 5 twin turrets, 1 fore, 2 centreline (staggered), 2 aft 12 x 5.9” in 12 single mounts 12 x 88mm in 12 single mounts 4 x 40mm in 4 single mounts Furst Monarch Class Dreadnought (Furst Monarch, Mar Regis, Ezherzog, Kaiserin Karl, Koenigin Maria, Szent Zenta) http://www.warships1.com/AHbb05_VUnitis_prtfrt.jpg These ships saw a mid-construction design change. As the hulls were being finished it was quickly realized that as built to original specs they would be blindingly obsolete upon completion (especially since Mannehausen intends them as a means of challenging Dassen’s dominance of the Freismarine). A serious design alteration was undertaken, and the ships were redesignated the Furst Monarch class. Coal propulsion was retained as Lydalia has large coal reserves but no oil. They are well protected ships, but slow and short ranged. This fits with their planned role for use in Dassian Sea rather than the open ocean, and serves an additional purpose in preventing them from being assigned to faraway stations. Dimensions: 615' long 28,600 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 3 coal fired turbines powering 3 shafts range of 5,000 nm at 12 kts 20 kts Armour Belt: 15” Deck: 5” Tower: 12” Turrets: 15” Armament: 12 x 13.8” in 4 triple turrets, 2 fore, 2 aft 14 x 5.9” in 14 single mounts 20 x 88mm in single mounts 6 x 21” torpedoes (4 bow, 1 on each beam, all below waterline) 17 torpedoes total List Class Super Dreadnought (List Everst, List Feur) http://www.warships1.com/JAPbb04_Yamashiro_30_stbrd.jpg The Super Dreadnought concept was considered by many to be flawed from the beginning, the argument being that the equivalent cost in smaller ships would be far more effective. Additionally there were many engineering compromises necessary in creating so monstrous a design since Dassen had little prior experience in battleship construction. This was exacerbated by the rushing of the final phases of the ship’s construction. Nevertheless, despite a massive series of poorly disguised flaws, on paper the two vessels were truly awesome ships. Continual refit work over 1891 (the Lists now have quite a reputation as harbour queens) served to make them so in fact. Further refits in 1892 following the Battle of the Dassian sea and the observed power of the Gondoan 16" weapons saw their guns replaced with twelve massive 15.6" rifles, previously designed for use in the coastal fortresses of Shalden Island. Now the ships are in for another long refit, which will replace their guns with 15.8” weapons, remove one centreline turret (found to have the most limited arcs) and put in oil fired engines. Dimensions: 820' long 52,350 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 6 oil fired turbines powering 4 shafts range of 8,000 nm at 15 kts 23 kts Armour Belt: 15.5” Deck: 5” Tower: 15” Turrets: 16.5” Armament: 10 x 15.8” in 5 twin turrets, 2 fore, 1 centreline, 2 aft 24 x 5.9” in 12 twin turrets 18 x 88mm in 18 single mounts 8 x 40mm machineguns in single mounts Ersatz Endsieg (Ersatz Endsieg, Graf Gerat, Ksargen, Reizendel, Graefin Annegret, Zend Straga, Remlinn, Krondar Krydek) http://www.warships1.com/GERbb06_Baden_prtfrt.jpg The Ersatz Endsieg class now mount the 15.2” modification of the 15.6”, and have undergone a degree of modification to increase steadiness. The reduction of topside weight has benefited the class immensely, though overall weight has increased due to additional underwater armour. These ships will be the backbone of Dassen’s battleline for some time to come, even though the York’s now look set to become the squadron ship of choice once they enter service. Dimensions: 632' long 36,500 t. displacement full load Propulsion: 4 oil fired turbines powering 4 shafts range of 10,000 nm at 15 kts 23 kts Armour Belt: 14” Deck: 5” Tower: 15” Turrets: 14” Armament: 8 x 15.2” in 4 twin turrets, 2 fore, 2 aft 16 x 5.9” in 8 twin turrets 10 x 88mm in single mounts 4 x 40mm machineguns in single mounts

As of Fall 1985 Nation: Imperial Dominions of Elmindar Leader: Emperor Rantserv IV Government: Monarchy (Monarch elected by other lesser monarchs inside the kingdom) Capitol: Verkin (pop-6.6 million) Currency: Necro (medium sized silver coin) [1 Necro ~ 1 US Dollar] Population: 26.4 million Flag: Gold background with red star burst in the center and two silver scimitars crossing in front Industry: above average Economy: strong Religions: 50% Christian, 47% Blairic, 3% other (Yes this will play into my overall story later) Merchant marines: around 3 million tons (most based in verkin) Exports: Silver, fossil fuels, gold, steel, iron, other resources for industry Imports: manufactured goods, helium, timber, food stuffs National Advantages: 1)Technology: War as always loomed on the horizon in Elmindar so each state developed better and better weaponry for their soldiers and to protect their, main cities. Now that the 7 states are at peace, for the most part, with one another under the emperor’s rule these advancements have been incorporated into the national divisions of the army, navy & air force. 2) large surplus of resources: many years ago large amounts of different industrial resources and precious metals were found in the inner deserts of the home land, and ever since then they have just been flowing out in large quantities. 3)Defense: the internel unrest did have an interesting effect on the defense of the nation because if you try to invade it is like invading 7 other countries although the states only now have their own militias instead of true armies they are still as good as the normal armies National Disadvantages: 1) Low food supply: because allot of the country is a dessert there is a limited food supply, so most has to be exported from else were. 2) Internal unrest: because of the “different” states in the region before Rantservs became the leader the different warlords and kings of the states fought amongst them selves for power over the country, that tension still survives today. It became so bad at on time that Centoria one of the states succeeded from the Empire and created the Christian Republic of Centoria 3) Weak railroad system: most of the inner country being barren and desolate and because of the wars that happened 50 some odd years ago between the states the rail roads were never truly developed Millitary: Imperial Elmindar Navy (IEN): Main Fleet Headquarters: Verkin city Auxiliary fleet HQs: Calister (cordelia), Terkin (Island 100 miles off coast) Commander of Navies: Lord Admiral Valdirmof Commanders of Main naval Ports: Admiral Apophite (Calister), Admiral Giligan ( ) (Terkin), Admirl Ranchez (verkin City)IEN history- Since most of the older civil wars were fought within the country it’s self, The navy was put on second priority to the 3 Provinces that had a coast line and had the navy (Palatine, Cordelia & old Centoria) how ever when most of the Provinces decided to join together and gain more power the navy was put into a new light since it would be needed for the Empire to become a true world power. so the late Emperor founded it 20 years ago and since then the ship yards have been working non stop to create ships for the empire to use. IEN Fleets: (Ship class/ship name/any damage) [F= flagship of squadron, FF=flagship of fleet, IF= Flag ship of the navy] Home fleets First fleet: Commander: Admiral William Haval Current loaction- traveling along coast line Squadron 1: Commander: Vice Admiral Moziken Current location: traveling north from Verkin City Orders: protect coast line ships in squadron: Halex / Halex [IF] Halex / Agincourt Iron Talon/ Iron talon Iron Talon / Reshadieh Mader / Mader Mader / Brandenburg Mader / Drama Cordoba / Cordoba Cordoba / Breslau Cordoba / Strassbürg Cordoba / Turgutreis Viper / Viper Viper / Yildrim Viper / Adatepe Viper / Zafer Viper / Trakya Viper / Mauvenet Viper / Barbaros Viper / Salamis Calister / Calister Squadron 2: Commander: Vice Admiral Castille Current location: traveling south from Calister Orders: protect coast line Ships of Squadron: Halex / Iron Talon / Hydra Iron Talon / Kimon Iron Talon / Rommel Mader / Crimea Cordoba / Crete Cordoba / Aegean Cordoba / Bosporus Prophecy/ Prophecy Prophecy / kara Desert Blade / Bogaz Desert Blade / Laptev Desert Blade / Novaya Desert Blade / Kirkuk Desert Blade / Imhoteb Anobus/ Anobus Anobus / Mespo VIper / Sargos VIper / Ararat VIper / Thar VIper / Mazar VIper / Sidra Calister / Oran Calister / Tibesti Calister / Algiers Terkin Defense fleet: Ships in fleet: Expliten/ Expliten Expliten / Terkin Expliten / Verkin Jade / Jade Jade/ Molastar Jade / Sardalis Jade / Gabes Jade / Bizerte Viminal / Viminal Class 1 U-Boat/ J1 Class 1 U-Boat/ J1 High seas fleet: Commander: High Admiral Loche Current location: Verkin Current Orders: protect verkin Squadrons- Hornet squadron (Fast response squadron)- Commander: Vice Admiral Griston Ships of the Squadron: Mader / Giza Viper / Sovcotra Viper / tanta Viper / Luxor Viper / Syrian Viper / Istanbul Viper / Constantinople Viper / Elburz Viper / Urmia Viper / Asir Viper / Knanga Calister / Cape Calister / Takla Calister / xizang* Second Squadron Commander: Admiral galen Current orders: at home (some ships at F-cont) Ships of squadren: Halex / Sonmiani Cordoba / Karachi (F-cont) Cordoba / Kutch Cordoba / Indus VIper / deccan (F-Cont) Viper / Range of fire (F-Cont) VIper / Coral Light* Main squadron: Commander: High Admiral Loche ships in squadron: Iron Talon / blade breaker Iron Talon / Prophet / Sunshi Prophet / Sinir Prophet / Slinir Desert blade / mekro Desert Blade / nicren Desert Blade / syrint VIper / astor Viper / gret mar VIper / alcie calister / alexandria Anobus / Bologna Anobus / malaga Anobus / Vincent Anobus / Murcia* New foreign class vessels: 1 x Hoessen class battleship (Hoessen) 2 x Freidland Armoured Cruisers 1 x Jormungad Armoured Cruisers 20 x Leifahr Destroyer Escorts observation balloons GIS Tokiya (Tokiya class Dreadnought GIS Twinrova (Rova class Battleship) 1 x Nicol Armored Destroyer 3 x hale class cruiser 6 x N-Type Torpedo Boat 2 x Orasaydes Cruiser Ship Classes of the IEN: Pre-Dreadnaughts: total in fleet: 12 Halex Class- number in service: 4 Specifications- Max Speed- 21-22 knots Protection: Side Belt 3.9"- 9.8"-3.9" side (100-249-100mm) Deck 1.5"- 2.0" (38-51mm) Armament: Main Battery 2 x 12" (304mm)/40 cal in 2 single turrets fore and aft Secondary 12 x 8" (240mm)/45 cal (in 6 twin beam turrets) Other Guns 16-24 x 3" (76mm)/40 cal Torpedoes 2 x 17.7" (450mm) submerged Crew compliment-740 http://www.warships1.com/ITpbb10_VE.htm Iron Talon class- number in service: 7 Specifications= max speed -16 knots Armor: Armor Belt - (People, please post your OOBs on teh OOB thread. It would be easier to find stuff if you kept it in one place. Considering we have an OOB thread, it only makes sence to use it.)

Coalition of Soviet Socialist Republic (CSSR) As of October 1895 Name: Coalition of Soviet Socialist Republic (CSSR) Government: Communist Republic-Dictatorship Population: 29.8 million (2% Growth rate) Capital: St. Victors Leader: General Sectary Taryn Flag: Soviet Union Flag with the Words C.S.S.R in white letters in the center top Currency: Jaiaian Dollar Slipways: 3 Destroyer; 7 Merchant Slipways Economy : Climbing to Moderate Industry : Raising as the Economy raises; largely intact but mostly unable to be used Merchant Tonnage: 2,000 tons (5 400-ton ships) 14 River Transports Advantages Loyal Population - Since the downfall of the Empire the people were looking for something that they had forever; Order complete and unquestioned order. The CSSR gives that and so the people our as loyal as they were to the old Empire. To them the Fatherland is still the same but with new Leadership. The Loss of the Empire is even mourned and the Republic does not blam anything of the Old Regime only its inabilty to run the nation. Strong Military - The Army is well trained and well equipped. Most are veterans from the Invasion and Prussian Wars. Industry - No matter what happened in the War the Industry is still one of the best in the world- just not used much now. It is beginning to degrade as it is inactive. Advanced Navy: the Navy Through small, now only U-Boats, had a high level of Tec. Guns were better then other nations counter parts, a need for Jaia's small navy to have some edge made Navel Tec advancements important. Railroad Network: A huge Rail network is conorstone for the Jaiaian econimey, it allows troops to be moved around from one side of the country to the Other in very little time. Disadvantages Shakily Government - The CSSR is still a infant, it rules Jaia completely with no contenders, but its New Government is undergoing a period that all new Governments go through. Not trusted - by capitalist Nations and others as Communism is seen as “Evil”. Also not many Jaiaians are found of foreigners- they tend to die rather fast in Jaia. Through fellow Communists are accepted as “Distant Family” War Wounds - The Civilwar and Invasion has left Wounds in the outer areas, this is a constant problem as the Frontier with Aachaden is nearly abandoned. Old Roads: The Roads are now in better shape then before, this Disadvantage is becoming meaningless. The Road Network was not suitable to heavy transport since the Railway network allowed better Transportation faster and cheaper to. Now the Roads are being strengthened and expended. Though not a true giant, the Goddess class is a solid design, packing surprising toughness with less than the average belt coverage on a dreadnought. As usual, she's a roomy ship, with superior accomodation and working space. Among the Jaian developments in the design include Jaian style turbines (though at the same power as most Gondoan ships giving a somewhat pokey speed of 20.57 knots) and a rounded 6" secondary setup.

Sendarian News
Today the Sendarian navy launched five subs today, the first in the history of the Sendaria. The plan is that these subs will help to knock holes in blockaids during war time. The hulls of five other subs have been layed down.
All across the Sendarian Empire money has been pouring in to improve industries and economies. This have been the main promise of the new Tory government and it appears that they are keeping their word. New factories and jobs are opening up all across the Empire along with transportion systems are being improved. Along with a build up in industry there has been a build up in the military. Production of tanks have been increased, 30,000 more troops have beem sent to Persarion in order to bring put down the gangs and rebel holdouts that have sprung up, and it is rumored that there are plans to make Northern Davion into a fortress. In other news riot police were called in to break up striking farmers in North Sendaria. The farmers are anger over increasing taxes that are paying for the improvements of updating the industry of the Empire. Prime Minister Clark claimed that the strike was the start of a Communist revolt. The farmers aslo claimed that the new taxes are hurting food producion although Sendaria is one of, if not the largest producer of food in the world and rest of the Empire increases production by a quarter. However last month's production rate did drop a bit.

OOC: Another semi-sinister chapter. See who can spot the wrongness of the Gondoan people's memories.
November 11th, Imperial Palace The Gondoan Remembrance Day took place on the same day as the Remembrance Day of any other nation that had pulled through the Prussian War but the mood was entirely different. The Gondoan spirit was different and the rift was especially clear today as the volunteers at the base of the palace stopped their work for a minute of silence. The silence was from other nations might be broken by a trumpet playing the Last Post. The atmosphere, a solemn one of memory to those who died. By contrast, the silence of Gondoa was the silence of death. This was what thirty years under the Vectorian Dynasty had done to the fundamental emotions of the people of a nation. Gondoa's silence was a dead, forbidding silence. "On this day of the eleventh of November, we remember. The costliest war that mankind and Gondoa had ever seen. A war that demonstrated the power of human…" The speaker spoke into a microphone, which, by Imperial order, had been wired to one of the many cables running to the Observatory. The voice rang clarion clear even at the heights of the great pyramidal nerve center of the empire. "…the fearsome blow of this war may yet revisit Gondoa, but…" "You didn't write or influence the speech did you?" "No, Sagara, I did not." The Emperor paused. "Does it disturb you, this speech? Or does it fill you with an excitement of what is to be achieved?" "A little of both I think." Gondoa's Prime Minister said, looking down at the specks that were the gathered people of an empire of over fifty million souls. "These people have changed. They remember the wrong…well, the different things, they love the different things." "They aren't wrong." Migel responded, despite Sagara's own correction. "They are an empire that knows what it runs on and runs on it." Migel paused. Down below, the ceremony that so closely resembed but was yet, so different from any other Remembrance Day, still continued. In a moment, the two minutes' silence began. Migel continued. "But you didn't come here to comment on their speech. You have the report from the results of the council deliberations?" The High Council of the Emperor ultimately held no decision-making power above the Emperor. Even the title of Prime Minister didn't change that and furthermore, many of the members were former Dynasts, current Dynasts or relatives of a surviving one. However, this served to keep the old noble class satisfied that they still had some say in the running of things as the Emperor made a point of listening carefully to advice as delivered via Sagara. Capable advisors, were afterall, quite capable of informing the Emperor of any missed issue of importance. Not that there were many. Few within the upper echelons of the palace failed to be unnerved by the massive administrative powers that a single younger man could handle without collapsing. It was said that Migel wasn't ismply the Emperor of Gondoa, he was Gondoa. The level of micromanagement he could handle seemed unlimited. "Not surprisingly, the council wanted to respond, like they do to every other action by every other rival nation. Though also not surprising, they ignored the submarines." "Sendaria's actions have always been in conflict with ours and have been for some time now." The Emperor said, shrugging as the silence continued at the base of the palace. "I find it hard we could be worried by Sendarian submarines. I find it hard to believe Sendaria's military and industrial movements would be cause of alarm. However, as you know, I applaud their spirit. They are acting just like normal people act and normalcy is good." Sagara nodded in agreement. "Where there is happiness, trust and tolerance, there will be contrast. Hate, jealousy and fear. At no other time is a human being or his nation quite so alive as in desperate struggle with others, each trying to outdo the other and that is why Gondoa is strong, that is why Dassia is strong and why Prussia was strong and why Jaia and Iberia will be strong. We hate others for their actions that oppose our will. We are jealous of another's power that matches or exceeds our own and we fear being outdone and defeat and those negative feelings are what Gondoa runs on. Look at what man and woman can achieve with such motivations." "Did the council draw up a full report? In a few weeks will be the tenth year of my rule. I want to see with clear eyes before things get hectic."

Private Letter to the Grand Duke of Aachaden (hand delivered by a Courier of the Royal Court)
I bid you goo tidings, my friend. However, I wish this letter was of equally good concern. I am forced to espress my concern at the growing worldwide dissent and conflict being provoked by these "Communist" organizations sprining up within the nations of Nilesia. I am sure you have heard of the recent caustic events within the borders of our ally, Sendaria, and of our mutual neighbor, Emanon. Both, I fear, are cause for concern. A communist upheaval in Sendaria would cause great harm to our alliance. A communist takeover in Emanon, driven by anger at and fear of our nations, on the other hand, could place a potential enemy possessing warmongering ideals squarely between our borders. Considering these problems, I would like to arrange a meeting where we can discuss the implications of these simmering revolutions-in-the-making and meathods of dealing with this threat befor it becomes larger than we are prepared to handle. With all urgency, Kaiser Wilhelm von Bismark Gilder

Considering Jaia hasn't really been developing tech for a while due to teh revolution and rebuilding etc., you've proabably fallen behind as well. I'd rephrase that to say that you make good quality ships and the like, but saying you're better than other nations is a step too far. Dassen is the world's shipbuilding leader, and the TL as a whole has the best technology than can be found anywhere. Gondoa has a specialty in arms, but even Mal admits he's matched or outlcassed by Dassian quality. So while you may have an advanced navy with relatively advanced tech, I wouldn't say it's superior, especially after your revolution.

Private Message to Kaiser Wilhelm von Bismarck, Gilder(Private Courier)
Indeed. How fitting that the very danger you hyposit makes building a telegraph through Emanon to connect our nations impossible, and thus forces us to rely upon communications methods that were ancient when our dynasties were young. I believe that a meeting shortly after the New Years would be best, perhaps even during the holidays themselves, as it will keep any dissidents from mounting an operation during said visit. I find it ironic, however, that during the meeting for anti-communism the ISDA held some years ago, you claimed that Communism would never become a threat in our lifetimes, while I advocated strong action. In this case, however, I heartily wish that I had been wrong. For all our sakes. Yours, Heinrich Guderian, Grand Duke Aachaden

I don't see your problem. I never said that they are Surperiors other then Navel Guns to some degree besides my 14"/46 that was designed before the Imperial Government topped.
IXjax can you give me the Stats for the Type III destroyers and Mark II subs? Got the Info for the Mark IIB and Type IV's.
