  4. mdkcde Not good enuff.

    Some context on this plz?
  5. Dermonster Annihilator of plot rails

In Dwarf Fortress, the RAWs is the extremely editable part of the code. It defines creatures, objects, basically everything. It is hyper complex though.

One misstep and you could embark with walking faint yellow diamonds while exploding boiling leather teleports around setting the flesh-grass ablaze. That is a thing that has actually happened.
  6. Gafgar Sir Not Appearing On This Forum

The snippet is a crossover with Dwarf Fortress. Much of the game's data is stored in text files known as "the raws", which allow the game to be modded considerably.

In short, the dwarf was leaning on the fourth wall as a vaguely religious figure of speech.
  7. Dermonster Annihilator of plot rails

He's going to be doing a lot more than leaning. 'Complete and utter annihilation' is a more apt term.

Take the quantum closet stone storage, or the dwarven atom-smasher. I did say physics would cry.
  8. Kyte Nya!

You did point out that in DF stuff doesn't exist until it has to exist, right?

That alone is an extremely scary concept.
  9. Largo Writing, Sports, Politics. Joys of Life

Chapter 6 is 25% done, but I feel like doing something a little different, a sort-of preview.

I've had quotes at the beginning of each chapter, quotes which I think help symbolize what each part is about. This is the quote for the next chapter, which I hope should give an idea about what it'll be about:

“As king, you must have stronger desires than anyone else. You must be more magnificent, more easily angered than everyone else! He should be both pure and chaotic, a man who was more real than any other man. Only through this, could your subjects be impressed by the king, and only this, would the message of 'if only I was king, that would be wondrous' would be imprinted upon the people’s heart”
    - Rider, Fate Zero.
  10. Rodyle ~Cutest Detective In the World~

I don't know what Fate Zero is but that sure sounds like Alexander the Great to me.
  11. It is the Nasuverse version of Alexander the Great otherwise know as Broskander (based on Iksander another form of his name in the ancient world). He is such a bro that his Reality Marble summons everyone who has every fought for him out of their sheer loyalty enduring even after death.

    He is made of awesome.
  12. SmallTips Ally of convenience

The sarcasm is strong in this one.

Edit: see above for completely missing the point.
  13. @SmallTips

You would be surprised by how many people still don't know about Fate/Zero and stuff like this, or just "know of it" and have yet to see it.

I was just talking with a friend who loves anime even more than me and just ignored everything related to Nasuverse based on the fact that it was originally an Eroge. Yes I consider him weird considering the sheer number of works adapted from Eroge's. Admittedly he has his reasons, Saya no Uta was the first Visual Novel he ever played, that kind of turned him off to anything like that and gave him an uncontrollable hatred for Gen Urobuchi. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him about Puella Magica Madoka, which he still refuses to watch based on Gen Urobuchi's involvement with the project. And remember Nitroplus is involved in Fate/Zero. No matter how I try to convince him he refuses to give it a chance due to this.

Moving on, Nitroplus is really into the whole "Cosmic Horror" thing. Let's have Louise summon the Necronomicon. No not the one from Evil Dead and the Army of Darkness, one of the Nitroplus versions, specifically Another Blood, blood version of the Necronomicon. She is a red head who is yandere for her father to the point that she wants to take the place of her mother (Al Azif). Oh and despite it being "light" as far as Cosmic Horrors go, in terms of power levels.............. well let's just say that "universe breaking" is a little more literal in this setting once you get to the highest levels of power. And Another Blood is the daughter of the people who pulled this feat off. :D I wonder what Louise would do with this kind of power if she convinces Another Blood to accept a contract?

Oh and did I mention that all the Grimoire's in the series come with Deus Machina, artificial magitech Gods? Look it up if you are not familiar with the series, and imagine the havoc this kind of magic would wreak on Halkeginia.

Edit: son of a bitch the servers are busy, how long until I can post this!? I believe I mentioned this idea before, but nothing ever came of it.
  14. Drachyench Registered

    So, there's an auto-translation effect?

That's... somewhat interesting, and leads to more questions. What happens if it's translating for someone who's multi-lingual? Do they recognize it as any particular language? Does it immediately come off as "wrong" / not their language but yet understood regardless? Does the translation work both ways (and if so, is it for everything the person says, or could they choose to speak unintelligibly?)? Askeladd was recently stabbed after going on a frenzy, so just what he hears upon waking up could very readily determine how quick he is to relax.
  15. Jonen C F.M.D.G.

    Fuck? A new thread already?

    ... I go away for a weekend...

I'll finish Number 21 in a bit, then.

    For now, a oneshot:

    Discontinuity

    ***

Whatever it was, it'd been lying in wait.

Saito, still weak after the rock-slide three worlds earlier had been bringing up the rear with Derff and the mules while the girls scouted out a camp-site. He'd stopped at the rim of the crater, looking down at the Gate as the last mule clambered over the rim, to follow the caravan onto the regolith. Derff, ever the rearguard, had stopped, swung a sensor cluster around to face him and asked: "What up, mein freund?"

Saito had turned to answer when he'd seen a glimpse of something catching the sunlight in the crater, and a -flash- of -something- moving. He'd let himself slip and slide back down into the crater, behind one of the larger rocky outcroppings on the rim. Just in time, he caught the edge of some sort of energy field, and his entoptics, radio... Everything died.

Through the rock, the suit, his own body, he heard the drone of Derffs repeaters as the Reaper laid down a hail of fire into the crater. He ducked and tried to make himself a smaller target as whatever -it- was in the crater shifted its fire onto Derff and the drones.

He saw a shadow pass overhead, momentarily blocking out the glare of the blue sun, and he knew Sylpheed was on station, and wherever their military grade AGI went, he knew Tabs would be close behind. To his side, he saw Derff take a direct hit from whatever -it- was firing, the Reaper chassis lifting off the ground and flying - disintegrating in slow motion - backwards out of the crater, already as dead as the surrounding rock.

He clumsily brought out his seeker pistol and tried to provide some sort of fire support - he was in a concealed position, but with the number of drones they had on the crater rim now, laying down fire and being picked off, there was bound to be a targeting laser that could guide his shots in. But the seeker was dead. He suddenly realized he's sweating, hard, and wonders how long he'll last in a dead suit. And isn't the rock he's relying on for cover looking a bit red on the edges? Oh. It's melting.

It makes sense that whatever it is knows where he is, and is keeping him pinned. He wonders if the drones actually firing on him shouldn't be higher priority targets, but then... It started with him, and took out Derff pretty quickly after that. Maybe whatever -it- is, it's hunting them.

He realizes he can't see Sylpheed. He assumes she's been shot down as well. There's a buzz and his suit systems restart. So does his seeker, and all the other systems he had running when the shooting started. Most of it's coming up gibberish, and he doesn't have time to fix it right now, as he's arming his seeker and adding his fire to the rest of the group.

Right. Need to check in with them. "Tabs! Kirche! Anyone?" He's got good cover for another few minutes at least, unless whatever it is starts moving. Use the time to sort out the comms and get access to the tacnet.

"Busy." Tabs is still alright. Despite her terse response, she links him up with the tacnet. He gets visual on the thing in the crater from one of the drones, the window turns into static and is replaced by a new one. It's a slim, silver ovoid, the surface is rippling under the concentrated barrage of fire, but it seems none the worse for wear.

It returns fire every few seconds, the effect only noticeable by a small, blindingly bright, dot of light near the tip, and the loss of another drone - at least they've already got the spacing to avoid multiple losses to a single shot, but they're running low on spares.

Tacnet feeds show Derff and Sylpheed are down, the rest of the caravan are taking cover and laying down fire, letting the drones draw attention. Still, every ten or so shots is aimed at the rock Saito is covering behind, visual feed shows an alarmingly deep crater of molten material forming on the side facing the ovoid.

"Saito, you still in one piece?" Kirche takes the line.

"It hit me with some sort of EM scrambler, but I think I've got most of my functionality back, yes." And he's fairly sure most of the gibberish he's seeing now is damage, and not some sort of insidious virus or hack. He's out of seekers at any rate, so he probably wouldn't be able to kill the rest of the team if he was subverted.

"Can you move?" He tries, remaining flat on his back to avoid exposing himself. His feet slide and fail to secure any holds, he gets some grip with his hands, but he'd have to expose himself to make best use of them.

He reports: "Maybe. Not a lot of options, I'm thinking. My cover is starting to glow. Not a lot of footholds here, though."

"Okay, stand by... Gramont, you're closest, what you think, wire?" Saito gets a bad feeling. He bends his knees and lets himself fall down closer to his increasingly hot piece of cover, sitting up.

"That's a negative. He'd be exposed to fire, and I think it's a safe bet that whatever that thing is it really doesn't like us... But, never fear Kirche my dear, I'll have him out of there in a... Well a jiff. You figure out some way to kill that thing before it kills us." Experience tells Saito that when someone who landscapes with mining charges says he'll have a situation solved in a jiff, it's to late to be worried. Assume the position.

"BRACE! BRACE! BRACE! FIRE IN THE HOLE!" The crater wall collapses, and the rockslide carries Saito down, away from danger. He tucks and rolls, narrowly evading being buried, or covered in molten slag from his former cover, but he's marginally safer than he was. Gramont is up, and drags him away from the crater and into cover. On the tacnet he sees Tabs withdrawing the rest of the drones.

"Scatter." On Tabs order, Gramont shoves him off towards a standing rock and heads off in another direction.

"Sho... we ...group?" Static. Not a good sign. Saito can't even tell who that was.

"Negative. Hostile pursuit. Evade." No static on Tabs, but then she's... Right on top of him, shoving him out of the way as whatever -it- is comes over the crater rim and pulses a shot right through where he just was. His suit dies again. And he's pretty sure Tabs just died, or at least her Reaper is playing dead very convincingly, keeling over outside of cover like that.

He can't hear anything but his own breathing. And he's reasonably sure that the only reason he's not feeling a whole collection of broken ribs is the fact that he's got more drugs circulating his system than you can get a hold of this side of Carnivale. He sees Gramont, behind cover a bit beyond Tabs downed Reaper. He's motioning, signing, for Saito to... Something something.

    Cover. Right.

Saito turns. Whatever -it- is is floating over the crater rim, bearing down on him. Not firing. Not at him, anyway. He sees the light blink on and off, but whatever it's shooting at isn't in his line of sight, and with no atmosphere or other tell tale...

He's pretty sure he has a concussion, or something.

There's something pink. - A ludicrous flourescent pink, under the light of the blue sun. He can't recall what color her suit is supposed to be. - Lois... Small, indomitable, fierce... Beautiful Lois. She's in cover, hidden from the view, in the path of the approaching -thing- waiting in ambush. As if she had a weapon that could...

The thing passes over her, Lois rises, her arms and head raised up towards it, as if pushing against a great weight. The -thing- slows, the silvery surface ripples and flows. She pulls. The -thing- stops, drops down. She brings her hands together, and tears them apart. The -thing- -folds- itself apart... Explodes, silvery droplets spray out and litter the landscape.

There's the buzz, and his suit reactivates. The tacnet is full of noise.

"uck? What the fuck?" "HOLY SHIT! Did you... HOLY SHIT!" "Hailmaryfullofgrace..."

"Guys." Lois speaks, and everyone falls silent. "I think I'm going to pass out now."

    ***

They don't set up camp. Tabs, now jacked into a Spare, says the -thing- is reassembling itself. They gather up what they can salvage and head back to the gate. Lois hasn't regained consciousness, Sylpheed and Derff are not recoverable. The others are keeping quiet.

"Address locked in, opening the aperture now." Henrietta is quiet, businesslike, as she mans the interface controls.

"Entering the probe." Gramont is manning the sensor package. "Okay, first look is good. Rads within acceptable limits, nice pressure... No sign of any bug-eyes or bad guys."

"Alright, widening the aperture. Get the next probe in."

    "On it."

"... That -thing- went after Saito." Henrietta says quietly as they wait for the report.

"He was close at hand." Kirche defends him.

    "No, after."

    "Target fixation, maybe?"

"Can we -not- talk about this right now." Gramont says, annoyed. "Pressure is -good-, very nearly breathable mix, biosphere, rads well within tolerable limits, area around the gate looks clear, signs of a pre-existing biosphere... I say we go for it, anywhere but here."

"Agreed, any objections?" No objections were forthcoming. "Alright then, Tabs and Gramont on point, then the mules, Siesta with the wounded in the center, Henrietta and I bring up the rear. Lets move, people."

"Um... What about Lois?" Henrietta says as the caravan starts moving.

    "What about, Lois?"

"What she did to that -thing-... Not to say that I'm not grateful, but... That wasn't natural."

"Not the time." A mule clears the gate and sends an all clear back on the wire. "Saito, you're up, can you walk?"

"Sort of. Okay. Lets do this." He steps through the portal...

    ... and is gone.

    ***

Basically, I recently read the Gatecrashing manual for Eclipse Phase, and decided to do a bit of experimental tweaking on another type of EP/ZnT crossover altogether.

Discontinuity!Saito is a Gatejumper. One of an entire Caravan of such, most of which are loosely based on characters we are familiar with in ZnT. Which raises interesting questions for him as to what it is he is actually experiencing in this strange land called Halkeginia, where he ended up after stepping through a gate and ending up without the rest of his group anywhere in sight. Where everyone he meets seems eerily familiar to someone he's met, or knows of, from his previous life, which seems as though a nightmare...
  16. Like I said in my previous post, the idea I posted was something I believe I suggested before. This got me thinking. I just saw Mystery Men on HBO for the first time in years (I noticed that it actually seemed better than when I first saw it awhile back). I believe someone once suggested Mr. Furious from that movie but not much came of it.

One thing that I noticed is that the character has rare spurts of one thing most people seem to lack in comic books (and by extension comic book movies) that rarest and most valued of powers "common sense". He recognized Captain Amazing's secret identity because of the old cliche of it being just a pair of glasses used as a disguise. So what would this character be like in Halkeginia? He is a nice guy most of the time (if something of an idiot), but when really pissed he shows that he is not just talk about his power of uncontrollable rage, that combined with the Gandalfr Runes and his sudden onsets of common sense would make an interesting story.
  17. Rodyle ~Cutest Detective In the World~

Yeah no man I was joking, I'm a huge Nasu fanatic and had been waiting for a Fate Zero anime for years, believing it'd never actually come (or if it did, it'd be by DEEN and not Ufotable like most of us wanted).

God why can't it be april so we can see the rest of the series?
  18. Baladar Mad Scientist In Training

I knew what Iskandar's NP was, but I hadn't seen the anime yet. It was so awesome! I think I even saw Adult Walker mixed in there too.
  19. @Rodyle

I suspected as much, but there are still people out there who have not yet seen Fate/Stay Night in any form and are ignorant of it. Admittedly we Nasuverse fans a a little ......eccentric......... that's the word when it comes to discussions. You know what I mean. This can make it a little difficult for newbies to get involved in following the Nasuverse.

Speaking of Nasuverse, has anyone ever suggested summoning Len, regular, White, or both? I for one think it has all kinds of interesting angles, Len not speaking, White Len's powers inherited from the Night of Wallachia, their nature as "succubi like", and the thought of the looks on peoples faces when Len (or White Len) whip out Derflinger and absolutely destroy whoever is trying to threaten them. Of course this is based on Melty Blood and what they can do there.

Oh! I just had another thought, a rather evil one. Ciel might not be the most "devout" member of the Church having joined it as a way to accomplish her revenge on Roa. She has Roa's knowledge of Thaumaturgy, and the Sacraments of The Church, as well as the Seventh Holy Scripture. She would make a very powerful and dangerous Gandalfr, but the political implications of summoning an exorcist of a non Brimiric religion might be interesting. Of course it would have to be post Roa's death, otherwise she would likely flip out and kill everyone once she realizes she has been denied her vengeance.

And then she finds out Halkeginia has no form of Curry. Now imagine her reaction to this. :drevil:
  20. Mignonette Count Zero

Isn't the seventh Holy Scripture a seperate spirit living within a tool? Or was it the spirit of a tool ciel modified.... I forget
  21. Rodyle ~Cutest Detective In the World~

Seventh Holy Scripture is a literal scripture that Ciel rebuilt into a fucking pile bunker, the thing she shoots are pages of that scripture. Seven herself is a fusion of a girl and a unicorn that was bound to create that scripture.

Ciel would be kind of neat I guess. I dunno about Len/White Len though.

By the way that's not supposed to be a grown Waver, but rather it's probably supposed to be Eumenes, since he's from a tribe of men with long dark hair.
  22. The Seventh Holy Scripture is a tool with it's own spirit, that used to be a human girl. It was created by combining her soul with the horn of a unicorn. It was originally a tool to prevent reincarnation doubling as a melee weapon, but Ciel then got her hands on it and modified it into a pile bunker. In it's modified form it now has enough power to physically kill a vampire on it's own, and it's main effect as a conceptual weapon to prevent reincarnation combined with the power to damage spiritual beings makes it a serious threat to most things.

    Edit: Ninja'd!
  23. So while we're on the topic of Type-Moon and out of curiosity. Does anyone think that they can make a decent story were Louise summons Arcueid? Not normal Arcueid. This Arcueid.

Seriously just imagine her next to Louise. They would be the most adorable People of Mass Destruction the world has ever known.

... I just got the next A Green Sun Illuminates the Void chapter off to beta. So that will be up probably within the next day or two, depending on how many changes and corrections will be needed.

    Yay.

    Hehehe...

    Hehehehehehe...

    Hahahahahahahaha!

    ...

Funny thing when you look at the Totality of Existence in the macro sense. There is actually more than one Universe out there somewhere. Each possibility that could happen can and probably already did somewhere or is still waiting for its own Universe to be born for said happening to actually happen. One could probably compare it to either a Kaleidoscope or a massive limitless library where each universe is a book that holds countless similar universes.

Kind of makes one feel pretty insignificant in the face of everything else doesn't it? Then again, if you are aware of how vast the Totality of Existence really is, chances are you aren't an insignificant being in the first place. But I digress...

The point is that there is always a possibility that something somewhere that could happen can, has, or will happen. No matter how insane or unlikely the odds, statistically speaking, everything should be able to happen somewhere at some point.

However, if the unlimited possibilities of existence is truly unlimited, wouldn't that in itself be a limitation? Nah...probably not. After all, the beast known as Possibility cares little for things such as logic when looking at the bigger picture.

-Blabberings of some guy who had an interesting life

    ...

"By the Founder! She summoned a dragon!"

    "As expected of her!"

    "Absolutely amazing!"

    "Well done Tabitha~!"

"A fine summon indeed Miss Tabitha! Please make sure to take care when completing the contact with your new familiar."

The words of praises for their peer that managed to summon a healthy blue dragon echoed throughout the field. It was early spring in the country of Tristainia, which was snugly located in the middle of the Halkeginian continent. The Tristain Magic Academy was often lauded as the very best school of magic in the entirety of Halkeginia. With the track record it had through the many many centuries so far, it was a reputation that was very difficult to refute.

Thus, many sons and daughters of prominent members of nobility from both Tristania and its neighboring countries come to this school to be part of its history and maybe even try to make history there.

Speaking of history, the current event that is playing out today is the Springtime Familiar Summoning Ritual, the definition of which is self-explanatory. It has been a tradition in this academy that all second year students that have made it this far are to try to summon and contract a familiar, a partner that will serve and remain loyal to them till their last day. Familiars are also very big responsibilities considering that they are technically an extension of the mages who summoned them.

The actions of the familiar are the actions of the mage. That was the main idea behind the concept, something that someone thought up of so mages at least become responsible enough to take care of their own familiar. After all, they're still living beings. No one really knows anymore who exactly came up with the rule of second year students summoning their familiars during spring nor what they intended when they came up with it. It's been part of their tradition for so long, everyone just thought that it was important since it has worked so well so far.

There is also a more practical reason why familiar summonings are done and only done in the second year of a student's tenure in the academy. It makes sure that the students who participate in the ritual already have some degree of proficiency in magic to prevent any nasty accidents from happening before, during, and after the ritual.

Of course, there are always exceptions to every rule...yes, every last one. Always.

"Miss Valliere? It is your turn. Please step forward." The professor handling this class called out to a certain student. The professor was rather simple looking man and exuded the aura of 'teacher' very well. He looked to be physically in the middle of his life with a prominently receding hairline and simple glasses. He also had a seemingly permanently plastered good willed smile on his face that added to his already boisterous teaching aura. He wore simple blue robes and had a wooden staff on one hand and a leatherbound book on the other. The typical magician look so to speak.

"Miss Valliere?" Said professor called out again to the certain student. Said certain student was a young woman who had long flowing pink hair, sharp amber eyes, and a determined yet fearful expression. She was wearing the standard uniform for a female student of the academy, a white long sleeved shirt which was mostly covered by a black mantle that was held by a brooch with the symbol of a pentagram, black socks that reached up to her thighs and matching shoes. She also had a very very modest chest, but I wouldn't say that within earshot of her if I were you. In her right hand was the standard wooden wand supplied by the academy. The academy allows its students to use other objects as their preferred focus for spells provided that they prove that they can use said object of choice properly. In fact, the aforementioned summoner of the blue dragon was using a gnarled wooden staff that was even taller than she was.

    "I think Zero just broke!"

"That's not surprising since she has already failed at trying to summon a familiar twice now!"

"We should all just leave, the outcome of the Zero's summoning should be obvious already!"

    "No! I wanna see this!"

"Why does she even bother to try?"

"Children please! There is no need for such words here!"

The pink-haired young woman wasn't listening to any of them though, she had bigger things to worry about even though they had a point. On the theoretical and academic side of her studies, she is nearly unmatched. Only the quiet blue-haired girl named Tabitha, the girl that summoned the dragon, was better than her in academics. The problem stemmed from her pratical application grades, you know...the part where the students of magic try to actually perform magic. She doesn't have as much success in that part of her studies. In fact, she's had zero success in that area of her studies. Hence, the derogatory nickname of Zero that her classmates have come to call her. Odd since Zero is a very awesome way to be known by anywhere else.

This is my last chance! I have to be able to do this! I can't fail! I can't fail! I would shame my family! I would shame my parents! I would shame my sisters! I would shame my ancestors! I would shame myself! Young Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere, yes her actual full name, thought as she took slow deliberate steps forward to where her professor was waiting for her. Everything around her seemed to slow down as she put one foot in front of the other. All sound blocked out, all movement around her became sluggish. All she had was herself and her inner fears.

Louise's mother was once the Commander of the Royal Tristanian Manticore Knight Corps. It was a magic knight corps that usually have manticores for mounts. Yes. Manticores. As mounts.

She was also, and still is, a very powerful Wind Mage and was given the infamous title of 'Heavy Wind' because of her signature spell. Louise's thoughts were completely swamped with the thought of disappointing a woman who had become a living legend in her country. She had to make sure to make her mother proud!

She needed to summon the perfect familiar for that purpose!

Louise stepped forward and took a few breaths to calm herself down and focus. She didn't even notice her professor tell her if she was alright and to begin her third try as soon as she was ready. The young woman, incompetent in all forms of conventional magic in her own realm, blocked out everything around her and focused soley in her task.

    And then she was alone.

She opened her mouth and pointed her wand straight up to the open blue skies.

    One who is powerful!

    "I beg of you..."

    One who is noble!

"My slave to who lives somewhere in the Universe!"

    One who is wise!

"Oh sacred, beautiful and strong familiar spirit!"

One who can prove that I am not a failure!

"I desire and here I plead from my heart!"

One who can help me become a true mage!

    "Answer to my guidance!"

One who can make me proud to be a member of the Valliere family!

The explosion that followed should have been enough to be considered a hostile attack. Black smoke spread out everywhere and anyone who wasn't rendered temporarily deaf from the inital blast found their vision to be non-existent. Louise did her best to fan away all the smoke that was produced by her spell in an effort to get any sort of confirmation that she was successful or not. That was the biggest explosion that she had ever made with her spells and she was very very very worried that, even if she was able to summon something, her familiar-to-be might have been injured and killed by being at the center of the summoning explosion.

Louise silently pleaded to the founder of her civilization, her god, and the world itself that her summon was there and was safe. Interestingly enough, she was actually given an answer. Beyond the smoke, Louise suddenly saw a very small glint right in front of her. A moment later, she was suddenly caught in a very powerful gust of wind.

She could barely hear the panicked screams of her peers over the howling of the wind. Obviously, because of said howling wind, the smoke that was obscuring everyone's view was blown away in short order. The thing was, the source of the wind came from the center of the explosion. Logically speaking, that meant that it came from whatever it was that Louise summoned.

"What manner of trickery is this?!" Or 'who' as the coherent sentence seemed to indicate. The voice was that of a young woman not unlike Louise herself but held an edge that could give you a nasty papercut just by hearing it. The summoner herself just managed to cough up the last of the smoke that she accidentally inhaled and finally got a good look at her handiwork.

She then proceeded to cough again when she saw the source of the voice.

The term 'young woman' seemed to fit the one Louise had summoned. Yes, she summoned a female human. One who was in her early to mid-teens based on her appearance alone. She was petite and was only a inch or two taller than her summoner. She was wearing...well...Louise couldn't help but let her jaw drop as if some sort of invisible force was dragging it down. Not really.

The reason for her apparent shock was because her summon was wearing a sleeveless white blouse that covered her modest chest, almost as modest as Louise's, and was wearing a pair of white leather shorts that were barely shorts at all. Seriously, those things rode up to her upper thighs and gave a very generous view of the young woman's smooth legs. Thankfully she was still wearing brown shoes, rather stylish ones at that. Her short shorts had a thick brown belt that was almost covering the shorts. The distinctive thing about it was that there was a thin scabbard attached on the left side of the belt.

Louise assumed that the scabbard was for the sword wand that the young woman in question was holding in her right hand. Yes. A sword-wand. It had the hilt and length of a standard rapier but was much thicker and the end was blunt. It was more a wand in the shape of a sword rather than a sword with wand-like properties.

The young woman also had a cape...no...under closer inspection it was a blue coat, a long coat to be exact, draped over her shoulders like a cape would. How that stays on is anyone's guess...it was probably because of magic.

All those things made the young woman in front of our summoner look very distinct and very striking. However, for Louise anyway, those details were moot compared to something else. Something more...familiar.

The young woman's face was fair and looked delicate but her expression and especially her eyes betrayed fierce determination and strength. Steel was in her eyes as it were. The young woman had long pink flowing hair that was tied up into a ponytail, likely more for practicality than style. Though it did look very nice on her.

If you haven't noticed anything odd yet, read the description of the summon again. If you still can't get anything, work on your imagination a bit more.

"You!" The young woman called out to Louise in a fierce manner that made the student flinch.

"You wear the uniform of a student of the Tristain Magic Academy. Explain yourself! What am I doing here?!" The young woman demanded while pointing her sword-wand at Louise. Her voice commanded great strength of character despite having the tone and inflection of a teenage girl. The young summoner could not help but take a step back at her words. The summon narrowed her eyes and Louise after being unsatisfied with the silence that hung in the air.

"What is your name?" The young woman finally asked while still pointing her sword-wand at Louise.

"A-a--my--ah--" Louise muttered far to softly and incoherently to be of any effect.

"Speak up!" That yell was enough to break Louise's silence.

"Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere!" Louise stammered out her rather long name. The young woman suddenly blinked in surprise before lowering her wand.

"The house Valliere. An honored noble house that has great history in Tristanian magic." The young woman muttered before giving Louise another once over. She eventually nodded to herself before sheathing her sword-wand and walked up to Louise.

"I apologize for my earlier reaction. I was not sure what was going on so I had to secure myself first before doing anything else. I hope that I did not offend you or your house." The young woman stated in a crisp and respectful tone of voice.

"Umm..." Was all Louise was able to say. The young woman tilted her head to the side before blinking in realization of something.

"I apologize. In my haste, I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. I am a Chevalier in the service of the Tristainian Royal Crown. I am not able to provide you my full name at the moment but you may call me Karin." The young woman named Karin introduced herself while giving Louise a respectful bow.

She stood up straight as soon as she heard a dull thumping sound and saw Louise on the ground unconscious.

"Are you well, Lady Valliere?" Karin asked in honest concern before going to Louise's aid, completely unaware of what she and the passed out young woman had just gotten themselves into.
