=/ Intentional or not, this post of yours is quite insulting to a large number of people for a large variety of reasons. Hell, I make it a point not to care about what most people say on general principle and I'm still finding this post of yours insulting. Can you imagine how this can be viewed by Blackrapter, considering how you just insulted a good deal of his work?
On one hand, he's free to not be interested in whatever he doesn't like. On the other: dude, that was like the briefest Cliff's Notes I-haven't-actually-read-the-story-but-I'm-still-gonna-point-you-in-the-right-direction summary. You could at least skim the first chapter. Raptor's good enough a writer that a less-than-compelling premise can still end up good.
Requesting that the numbering be stated as "4B", since i have rewritten the overly dramatic 4 and split it into 2 ======== And on the issue of further ideas: Had the lol thought of thinking of having a Chocobo for a summon... Not just any Chocobo. Chobi from Final Fantasy Unlimited even if just for lolz
But what would it be summoned as, none of the 4 familiar powers will be useful for a Chocobo to have.
It wasn't a matter of Blackraptor's writing talents (obviously I've not problem with that), I just want to see more Karin. If more Karin comes at the expense of some Touhou related thing, that doesn't bother me because I don't particularly care about Touhou. It's obviously a lot of other people's thing but that's not relevant to the question at hand. Anyway yeah I'm up for more Karin time shenanigans, better than anything I'd put out that's for sure.
This, I on the other hand am fond of Touhou -crossovers but they aren't as interesting to me as some of the other snippets here such as Raptor's Karin-ficlet or Dan-Heron's Link -snippets. I am still hoping said snippets will turn into a story of their own as I feel they'll have much more potential for a good earth shaking plot compared to anything related to Touhou.
hmm, Raptor, while the Karin idea is interesting, I would prefer if you keep on working on the Yuuka story. It'd be sad if you put that one in the back burner after working so hard and for so long on it.
Agreed, I'd like to see it continued by someone competent even if you end up dropping it for more BCWYWF, if you did both though, that would be just as awesome if slower. Agreed, I love touhou but a lot of why I read BCWYWF is because I'm a sucker for face heel turns or whatever theyre called, and seeing Yuuka develop into someone with empathy and how s/he deals with it is something I like, however, for the most part it isn't focused on much as a story element. The Karin story, provided she gets bonded at some point and picks up the role of gandalfr seems just full of novelty and fresh story elements that it would turn the series on it's head just as easily, if less heavy handedly that a powerful touhou could enact. More of what I'm interested in, Seems like theres about even number of people in both directions of opinion regardless.
Hence why I like the Link -snippets. It would be a break from the various canon -rehashes going on as even the various wars between countries would have to be put on a back burner to save the entire world, which is what usually happens when anything from Zelda is involved.
I'm less enthusiastic but it's possible. I really liked the unordered snippets from thread 1 But the link to a new world snippets seem much less interesting.
Fixed that, I just number them as I find them. Other than that, feeling really odd tonight. *Decommissioned snippet, it really didn't work out.* I'm going to stop typing these late at night, this one could have been a lot better.
I like both Karin's and Yuuka's stories unfortunately, just because they offer completely different storytelling possibilities.
*Sees everyone swinging either way on whether or not I should pursue the Karin route* Damn, you people aren't making it easy for me to make a decision. Doesn't really help that work has been killer this week either. I tried to map out a story based on what I've written so far for Karin and it is honestly the hardest thing I have ever had to plot out. I'm running Karin as a Louise with a hardened sense of justice and even more courage and determination and is equipped with wind magic. Character-wise, the interactions between them seem clear with me so far. I set her to be the way she was when she first became a Chevalier and before she finally completely fell for Centurion to make her as approachable to Louise as possible but still retaining her badass status. The problem comes with everything else. Karin finding out that she's decades displaced from her own time, that Louise is her daughter, that she grew up to be such a prude, the ramifications of finding out that she's a Gandalfr and that Louise is a Void mage, the Tristanian Royalty finding out about her, Reconquista finding out about her through Wardes, VITTORIO finding out about her. You guys get the idea. This story is gonna be hard to pull off, even with crazy narrator. Much harder than Be careful what you wish for, certainly. I'll write a few more snips when I can and decide then. If anyone else wants to pick up the idea and go postal with it, be my guest.
Yuuka's story kinda started to go down hill with Rukato being found. Also hey I might listen to the voices in my head later and write something else with Parsee. (Although I might be posting in the Touhou Thread as I'm finding myself getting Green Eyed later) Although I wonder... if Louise became a Bridge Princess would that technically make her Parsee's sister or cousin? Since Parsee knows how one becomes one.
Will the P4 snippet be continued? And what happened to Saito having his laptop and has internet connection through Louise? I'm thinking of Louise and Siesta stumbling into romance visual novels (Katawa Shoujo, Canvas 2, Hinata Bokko...) Haiz... can't remove this feeling after clearing Lilly's route in KS...
I have a similar feeling about one of the games I'm currently playing, except instead of romancing cripples it's about hookshoting around a fictional cross between North Korea and Hawaii. Rico Rodriguez for Familiar 2012
Huzzah, the passive works, if the snip sits for five seconds, it is effectively invisible. They'll never get me now...
I don't want to rain on your parade sliver. But all your snippets can be summed down to. If people are skipping, don't be surprised.
You have a good point... I should probably find a new way then. And the red star passes once more, to return later when it has a better idea.
