A Long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.....

SBME IN STAR WARS

The Milky Way Galaxy could, finally, catch it's breath. The synthetic-based race known as the REAPERS, responsible for the systemic genocides of countless races over countless years, had finally been vanquished by a interstellar nation-state known as the GALACTIC UNION. Organic and Synthetic-based life had proven they can inhabit the same galaxy in peace.

In another Galaxy, stretching across the cosmos, it was almost the opposite. The GALACTIC EMPIRE, led by DARTH SIDIOUS and his apprentice, DARTH VADER, has recently executed a plot to not only tear down democracy, but slaughter their ideological opposites, the JEDI ORDER. Hundreds of trillions of beings live in silent terror, and the JEDI left alive are on the run or in hiding.

By act of BROB, you and fourteen other Councilors decide the fate of the player-driven polity, the Galactic Union, and it's actions upon suddenly being thrust into this universe.

I'm putting a tentative date of 1 August for the beginning of the successor game. Please don't be heartbroken if it's a little later, but it will start sometime in August.

-Starting date as of right now is 16 BBY (Years before Battle of Yavin). It's 3 years after the Fall of the Republic, formation of the Empire, and Lord Vader is still hunting for Jedi who survived Order 66. The Empire itself is taking time to firm it's grasp over the galaxy, but make no mistake, they are the unrivaled power.

-The polity will be likely dropped somewhere in the Unknown Regions.

-You will be getting a 'wildcard' tech, and nothing from verses you haven't already seen from the first game. So it'll be from the following:

-Mass Effect
-Halo
-Starcraft
-Command and Conquer
-Startrek

You can also choose to use a 'wildcard' to finish off research you've already begun.

I will be posting more tidbits in the following few weeks.

Since we have 3 GMs, we may be able to handle a few more players then we've had before. I'm putting the slot limit at 15 for now. First priority for slots will be given to players that have played in SBME, SB-SGA, and Obi Juan's SW RPs on a regular basis. We will weed out troublemakers.

Generally, how a Council-type RP works is that you vote on a list of actions. I have been using an 8 action, 4 research sheet for regular turns, with the intelligence arm a lower number.

We will be using the same system here.

Rolls will be transparent everytime, via InvisibleCastle.

GMs will then take the action sheet once it is decided upon by a majority, roll the appropriate number of times for the actions given, and then tell you how successful (or unsuccessful) your action was.

I dont think thats a good idea. According to Wookiepedia, a SD costs what is the equivalent of some star system's economic output, so if we buy one than the Emperor will probably send in ships and people to investigate us. It would probably be better to steal a smaller ship, say a Nebulon frigate, reverse engineer it, and make our own SD equivalent.

Can we breed Zerg ships and Vong ships to create unholy abominations?

Eh, if we really need to we can go pirate-hunting, as pirates seem to have at least light capitals. Or we can take a big risk and deploy like 50 wings with grav rippers to catch a SD on patrol.

I'd prefer not to see the product of that.

But i will admit it's worth it for shits and giggles.

Well, if you do Zerg quest correctly, you get the Zerg race on your alliance! Well, just a single organism that control it entire race but good enough.

...Wait, several star systems? That's ridiculous. While they don't grow on trees, ImpStars aren't that absurd.

I'd believe that of an Eclipse, maybe, maybe an Executor, but there are far too man ImpStars floating around for that to sound right. I think that's another one of those instances of "scifi writers have no sense of scale" that we can write off without sweating it.

Remember, the Empire fielded dozens upon dozens of SD's at Endor. (Wiki says "30+", but I'd wager "100" isn't a bad guess.) There are millions of ships in their navy. I'd wager at least a quarter, if not more, are Star Destroyers. I bet their goal (that they reached) was one in every major star system, one for every couple of minor systems, and then enough besides that to make a couple roving fleets (it's how I'd do it).

Now, they're no laughing matter, and there's no way they're "cheap". But "several star system's economic output" is silly, unless every one of them is, say, Tatooine. Heck, I'd wager a planet like Earth could put out enough economics for 1 SD in a year, and we're way below their tech level.

Point is, I'm going into this expecting several large fleets of ImpStars, with just as many Victories, supported by swarms of lighter ships and clouds of fighters that block out the sun.
Which means our ships will fight in the shade.

All I want are plasma-firing Zerglings and Swarmlords (is that the right name?) with Vonduun Crab Armor and Dovin Basaals! What's the worst that could happen with a creature that is anathema to all living things, can make micro-black holes, and is largely impervious to lightsabers?

I have not played any RPs before (besides a Naruto one that has a long time between updates) so this would be a first for me.
