An Evil Overlord Is You!: RP Thread 1

  1. ReinZero Facepalming so hard at SB's hypocrisy.

Not entirely. An Overlord that is quick to pursue the course of action to deal with the state of affairs and all, is better than one that waits and dallys.

We do need a slight professional extent as well when needed. But yes, aside from that, I agree on the relationship end.
  2. linkhyrule5 Hero of Time

    So, a few things.

One, this meeting really could have waited until we talked with Rusty.

Two, we really need to keep our relationship warm and personal, or he won't stay trustworthy.

Three, if we really want to seem "strong" we should've gone with the mind-voice thing. I'm envisioning us as a Machiavellian Prince, both loved and feared by our subjects, and sudden privacy invasion coupled with a respectful amount of time is a wonderful start.
  3. Mizuki_Stone Gnd. Admiral

    Uuugh...

You do know that 'The Prince' was written as Satire right? Most of it is inefficient, the rest is just outright hindering. Honestly the Author get's a bum rap for that book.

Run that way if you want. You could also fallow the Evil Overlord's List to a T if you wish, but please do not bring up that book in my RP.
  4. Lord_Asmodeus And he went forth conquering, and to conquer

    Quite so, quite so.
  5. linkhyrule5 Hero of Time

Lol, fine. A Vetinarian Prince then :p.
  6. Please. The only reason he works is because of an author who specificly sets out to write him that way. No SBer could hope to match that level, much less a group of them.
  7. zweibach I seem to have missplaced a nuke.

Unless our world runs on Narrativium a Vetinari is not possible.

    [X] Great him warmly.
[X] Outline the plan of action for the day to him.
[X] Ask his advice: Names and characters of everyone important. Especially the Almighty Janitor types. Basically, briefed enough to not look like an idiot.
  8. Happerry Scion of the last Winter

    [X] Great him professional.
[X] Just outline the plan of action for the day to him.
  9. SneakyWalrus Is the Water Free?

Right, everyone wants to outline the days plan to him.
So, other than meeting the generals/advisors and planing a speech to the masses, what else are we going to do today?

Begin cataloguing the old Overlord's various spells?
Get some of our Clockwork minions online?
Practice some magic/plan out some blueprints for some Magitech?
Get some information on the current state of affairs within our kingdom for some other sources?
  10. I think for the next few days we'll be assuming the reins of power. If we still need sleep, we will wish we had an upgrade to remove the need for it.
  11. Wander Not all those who Wander are lost.

Let's not make any plans until after the meeting- That will tell us how much work needs to be done and how much time we'll have to do it.
  12. ReinZero Facepalming so hard at SB's hypocrisy.

    Someone called? (Yes I'm joking)

Anyhow, Robot, you mean starting bonus.
  13. SneakyWalrus Is the Water Free?

Do we even need an upgrade for it?
We are a robot with the soul of a human snake-man. Or is it that our remaining fleshy bits require us to sleep.
  14. Wing101 Bahala Na

    supported
  15. We'll want to look into how easy it is to create new upgrades as well.
  16. HecateGW No longer rampant and practicing techno-sorcery.

    [X] Great him warmly.
[X] Outline the plan of action for the day to him.

[X] Ask his advice: Names and characters of everyone important. Especially the Almighty Janitor types. Basically, briefed enough to not look like an idiot.
  17. Wander Not all those who Wander are lost.

I think we're pure machine actually.
  18. linkhyrule5 Hero of Time

We're pure machine, but we have a bed, so I guess we need sleep. We'll want to work on that :p.
  19. HecateGW No longer rampant and practicing techno-sorcery.

    How about this idea?

Would it be possible to speed up the effects of sleep so that we could gradually change our sleeping habits from 8 hours to 7 to 6 and eventually having it down to mere minutes, if not seconds?

Or even elminate sleep for several days/weeks/months at a time?
  20. Mizuki_Stone Gnd. Admiral

Even computer's need to Defrag now and then.

You don't need much sleep, nore do you need it often, but your mental proformance starts to go to hell if you go without too long. Some of your bigger spell work (like say summoning a Storm Of Doom) will also knock you into a Mini coma for a while, while your brain defuzzels.

  21. SneakyWalrus Is the Water Free?

Well first we'd have to find out what kinds of upgrade we can build and how many we can have. But we can worry about upgrades when we have the time, for now lets deal with the general/advisor meeting first.
  22. HecateGW No longer rampant and practicing techno-sorcery.

    Baby steps then.

And a lot of trial and error.
  23. zweibach I seem to have missplaced a nuke.

Can we get some kind of compartmentalization upgrade later so we can function on a low level while re-booting after epic level spell casting?
  24. SneakyWalrus Is the Water Free?

    OOOOHH
    IDEA
We have an army of Clockwork soldiers so we can experiment on them and when we get a decent upgrade for ourselves, we can upgrade all our troops as well. Well, we'd have to have a functioning mine and a decent mechanical industry first. Maybe we can build a clockwork factory?
  25. zweibach I seem to have missplaced a nuke.

From what Mizuki have said in the other thread the country already have capacity for building 'bots and conversion from fleshling to SUPERIOR STEEL! happen fairly often. That's how we turned into one after all.
