Yes, Halo. I think the vast majority of SB underestimates Halo for the stupidest of reasons, reasons that are too varied and diverse to list right now. Why do you personally think Halo wouldn't stomp us?
Nobody argues for Mass Effect being beaten by modern day military. Halo does get its ass kicked, as their weapondry is only as good as today's and their tanks/warthogs are horribad.
I disagree, seeing as they likely have superior airpower, there is little hard evidence suggesting their guns/armor are worse than ours and nothing to prove that their equivlants to our vehicles are worse than ours too. Unfortunatley, due to Bungie having about as much military knowledge as most video game developers, there is little evidence to prove they DO have those things too, which is why I generally avoid debates with them.
UNSC AI hacks the entire US Infrastructure, then all Government databases, proceeds to find every government secret kept on a computer. Within days the UNSC has blackmailed the US government into surrendering... or they release national secrets to the highest bidder/anyone who wants them. No brute force required.
I've wanted to brother, but like I said, due to the consistent idiocy of Bungie there is little hard evidence supporting either side. We have little reliable information on vehicle capabilities, weapon ranges/yields, ect. What we do have is unreliable stats that do place Halo well below a modern military, that come from sources that f**k up countless other points(Encyclopedia), or were made by people who obviously don't have a damn clue what they're talking about(The Flood, those weapon stats on Bungie.net, some Nylund novels, the anime, etc.) I already know that if I made a Halo vs Modern military thread, it would be me being dogpiled by countless other posters screaming "U HAZ NO PROOFS" and quoting the same weak ass showings from the same dumb ass sources over and over. That combined with me having an uncooperative router, me having difficulty collecting my thoughts, and me just not giving that much of a shit, would likely result in the thread dying out rapidly. Unless Nattuo or some other Haloite who can debate better than me joins. Halo Wars disagrees with you my friend. Reasons there aren't that many great things in the shooter games are the UNSC was running on fumes anyway by that point, and Bungie has a long tradition of making things appear and dissapear from game to game without explanation for balance's sake. See half the infantry weapons in the main trilogy.
Once inside the system of a covenant warship, cortana had complete control over the whole damn thing. they use similar tactics all the fucking time... albeit more for seizing control of automated systems and murdering aliens by venting the atmosphere but Hacking the US government would be so easy its not even funny for a Smart AI. I'm going to have to go through the books for the actual quotes. Oh yeah and Dumb AI's run planetary infrastructures on their own... a smart AI greatly exceeds a dumb AI in capability. I'll go through the books for Quotes later if you can't take my word for it.
Actually, all a Smart AI exceeds a "dumb" one is is that there is no memory limit for Smart. Conceded about the hacking issue.
Thank you. I will concede that the UNSC, barring Spartan's, bubble shield and spartan lasers are pretty much equal to modern day earth on the ground. and thus would win more through superior numbers than anything else.

Not really. Halo still curb-stomps modern military easily due to orbital assistance, technology like Spartans, SPARTAN lasers, Smart A.I hacking entire U.S's network and forcing modern military and government to give up. And also they can spam nukes as they wish to, since modern military cannot do that. (Due to treaties with other countries as such: if any nation unleashes a nuke, everyone will use nukes which it will spell death for earth.) Even with lowest end of firepower as 64 kiloton of MAC, is still threat to ground forces. Also they have literally thousands of archer missiles to spam too. So yeah, try again.
