Basic Rules on Index? New Thread for every 200+ Pages (if the Mods/Admins would prefere it) instead of complaining for a new thread with such a small number of pages like last time. We're in Xen now, not VBullet, so we won't have to worry on broken Page lengths (for now.)

On Snippets; if it's way to short, it won't be included in the Index (so no One Liners, or Snippets that barely contains more than 3 Paragraphs, or barely even fills the screen please.)

EDIT= 24/07/2012: And in case people can't read plain Text; by Thread Consensus/Good Will/Majority/est. NO, ONE LINER COMMENTS ON "X IS FAMAILIAR, DISCUSS!"

Now I can understand why you might accidentally make the One Liner mistake every so often. But if you can respect the (unofficial) Rule of the Thumb here (^Points to "On Snippets") and try your best to follow it, then you (should) be forgiven somewhat. But;

CONTINUED POSTING OF ONE LINER IDEAS/COMMENTS MAY RESULT IN THE INDEXERS TAKING ACTION FROM NOT INDEXING YOUR SNIPS, TO REMOVING ALL TRACE OF YOUR EXISTANCE IN THE MAIN INDEX PAGE! DEPENDING ON SEVERITY!

In case you stumble upon a One Liner Comment; Ignore, and don't respond to the idea. Said person hasn't made it clear enough, that's all.

EDIT (9th July): Also, another thing that I've forgot to add (thank Felix3D) is "Don't just write a name and cross down and expect us to discuss it", or in plain English: No just suggest on "How would X do as Louise's Familiar", and expect everyone to 'get' what/who you're talking about because let's face it; this thread's so big that unless you state the reason why you think it's a good idea (or if you have a new 'idea'), and who s/he is from it's most likely going to get ignored.

As usual, if you actually write your own ideas/snips and it's long enough; it's more likely to gather attention and read by SBers than just trading ideas. Speaking of which, on Story Snippets'

If the Title/Description doesn't mention what Familiar is being summoned and what CROSSOVER it's from,

if it's an ORIGINAL (Original Characters. If it's based on some other Quest, label it under CROSSOVER, with the Link if it's SFW,)

a REVERSE SUMMON (And which Verse being CROSSOVER'D,)

a 'REAL LIFE' Snip that crosses ZnT/FoZ with Real Life Earth (be it some Pandemic, Marines, an FBI Agent, est...)

a DIFFERENT SAITO (and what changes have been made,)

or even focused on ANOTHER CHARACTER (State which Character, from Tabitha/Kirche, to Colbert/Guiche , or even *God forbid* Scarron, and if there's a CROSSOVER, to also mention it.)

OTHERWISE, having your Snippet being labled UNKNOWN in the official Index would be kind/nice compared to being called even more inventive/embarrasing names (such as YOU ARE AN IDIOT!,) or even Ignored/UNINDEXED if the Indexers can't find/figure out/know what/where your 'Snippet' is from, even via a simple Google Search.

Speaking of which, the Indexers who spend time surfing through this Index would most likely leave "Index Markers" per every 20 or so Pages for easy reference, but it'd only cover pages 1/20, 21/40, est. Said Indexers have voluntary spend a lot of their free time (starting with Zelinko) combing through these extremely long Mega Threads. So be nice to them with proper Manners/Netiquette, give them the kudos/respect they deserve and personally contact them if you have any issues with how they've Titled your Snippets.

Also, if you're rolling out more than 4 Snippets in the same verse, and you're going to the point that you're dedicated to writing said Snippets on a regular basis. Feel free to Turn it into a Story thread for more focused commentry, and not overly advertise it afterwards in this Thread unless asked. (Just label that it's updated once or so for when you have started, and then leave the updates in said Story Thread in CREATIVE WRITING.)

Lastly, Official Sticky Index Link (Because it's gotten that BIG it needed it's own Sticky Thread!) and the Last Thread Link (not that you care.)

It's always like this. Whenever I post something bigger, it's either the last post of a page, at the end of a dying thread, completely ignored or forgotten and not indexed anywhere. Sometimes you two things at once.

I don't remember miss Westwood (dear god why) summoning anything in canon, so yeah.

Is this really necessary, or is it going to end up closed like the last thread #38?

Well, if I'm honest, I think it's probably a good idea to start new threads when something gets mega-huge, simply to make it possible to find things inside them. Then again, I thought we should have kept the 20 page limit for rec threads and the like for the same reason, so I might be considered quite, quite mad.

Meh, me and a few others thought the same, We'll see in the next few hours if discussion will transit here or remain in the old mega-thread

Posting this in the 'maybe new' Mega Thread, comment's wise.

If we make a new thread like this, should we also make a Update thread? One where we collect links to all of the stories that "Branched off" from the Main ZnT threads and then have the authors post update notifications there (that way if watch that thread, each time you get an alert it's an actual update, not just a "oops, just random natter" kind of thing)?

And shouldn't we use a more noticeable thread ender? (I have a pretty cool ZnT one if needed)

Also: Robo will be busy for a while from now on, so help indexing and would be really great.

On RoboJesus being Busy in Real Life issues; worse case scenario, The Admins/Mods should help edit the last pieces of the Index in, and I wouldn't mind combing through another 20 or so Pages. Dunno about the Update thread, but if it has branched out into a story thread, I think the Thread should also be linked in the main Index (along with maybe a "Last Updated" status?

As for the Next Title, I personally have "A Place in the Tsun", "Fun, Fun, Fun~, in the Tsun, Tsun, Tsun~" or "Louise, beware the TsunTsun, who'd go Dere on you." Eh, let's just leave the Title debate until it nighs 200+ or so pages again.

It's an Ecchi manga one-shot made by the guy behind MonsterGirl Encyclopedia. It's hilarious, and a brilliant take on the Unwanted harem and "Gamer Guy trapped in a fantasy RPG game" tropes.

For Louise it'll be a funny thing both ways. Summoning a Genre-Savvy Gamer that summons his own harem, or Louise as a giant Yuri Harem Summoner... that's completely straight.

But what about poor poor Saya? Has she been covered yet via a Snippet?

That's actually a good/decent title. In fact, all those tiny title Ideas has now given me what Louise's Title would be in Homestuck: Summoner of Void, due to all the Snippets showing her summon alternative Familiars.

The problem I see with Saya would be that unless Louise suffered a similar head injury with the related dellusions as whatshisface, Saya would likely look far too abominationy for her to bind.

Eh, just blame it on Voidhaxx. I mean, considering that she effortlessly binds demi-gods capable of utterly obliterating Halkeginia, it's not that much of a stretch.

Not that I disagree. While Louise is desperate to summon something, anything (or so she thinks), she is still a normal human girl. And some things just aren't meant to be seen by mortal eyes ... nevermind *kissed*. Which of those hundred mouths you kiss anyway?

Does anyone want to inform the unenlightened as to who/what this 'Saya' is? Mentioning characters without citing source material is a pet peeve of mine, since then if I don't know who you're talking about I can't look it up.

Fair enough. But for future reference to everybody, this is the sort of thing you should mention with the character, if only to prevent inadvisable 'blind searching'. You know, someone doesn't know who a character is, can't quench their burning curiosity, searches (for example) "Saya eldritch horror", and then their brain dribbles out their ears. So please, whenever mentioning a character, please add the source material ([redacted] from [the redacted show]). Cool? Cool.

SAN checks aside, The Saya Idea has been already done before, including the head-injury. Being part of the Japanese Fandom is Suffering(in SAN Check terms).

The story is a BAD END, with Saya 'reproducing' and Halkeginia ending up as a breeding ground for what Saya is; though it is a "good" end for Louise, because she ends up in a world where there is only Saya and the Poor Shmuck with the head-injury.

.....How can that be considered a "Good End" ??
