No, its can't use. The DF powerhouses lack free will, and thus can't pull out WMDs unless some outside power with free will does what is necessary to authorize the powerhouses to deploy. The TSAB has WMDs in its territory, but either doesn't know where they are, doesn't know how to use them, or doesn't know how to use them in a manner that wouldn't automatically achieve mutually assured destruction.
Um, isn't one of the themes for Dresdenverse is that the reason the monsters in the shadows stay in the shadows is because of how dangerous mundan humanity is? I mean humans are supposed to out number every other race by at least a hundred to one and with modern weapons being the great equalizers making numbers not as important. That involving normal humanity in supernatural matters is supposed to be the nuclear option and not just because they have nukes. How would the fae be able to take on the TSAB when they can't even take modern earth in a fight.
Yah, they'd do badly what with the weakness to iron. TSAB can probably sufficient velocity the stuff from a dimension away if necessary.
It's one of the reasons I like the series. Even the monsters and magical superhumans have to be careful of pissing normal humanity, and ar'nt too proud to admit to it.
Well, sure. That's why I said United!Fae. Opposing!EternalWar!Fae don't have the power to spare. If one side won, though, they'd mostly destroy humanity by default, either by fire or ice. And the Faerie Mothers are... well, we don't know how powerful. Remember, sheer DAKKA isn't the only measure of power - as the cloth of Unweaving shows, a lot of their power comes from concepthax. They might not be able to destroy planets... but they might be able to freeze a star. We don't really know. All we really know is that even the Fallen Angels don't screw with the higher tiers of Fae.
@Roby: Lol, derp. Apparently I was talking to you. What I meant, though, was that it was a separate topic - I wasn't claiming it as a balancing factor, I was just saying that the Archive would still be traumatized by, oh, Enoby -_-.
Now, why would that story be traumatizing? Artemis's Lover is certainly the best lemon fanfic about a touching love story between a 13 years old hermaphrodite human and Artemis the male Moon Cat in the whole Sailor Moon fandom. Ivy likes cute animals, doesn't she? So she would appreciate this fic to its full extent.
I must say I'm enormously pleased to see this back; after reading this update I just had to reread the first five chapters as well. One thing though - doesn't the Dresdenverse have at least four types of Vampire (Red Court, White Court, nearly extinct Black Court/Dracula type, Jade Court?) Harry tells Fate there's only three types of Vampire in the text.
Actually Per Word Of God, there are two more courts, for a total of seven. However, the remaining three aren't very powerful or numerous, and as such aren't much more than a blip on the supernatural community's radar.
The Only other court that is known by name is the Jade Court, which operates out of Southeast Asia, China, and Japan.
The Jade Court is one; they're not mentioned much because they're in Asia (not sure if any specific countries are mentioned). Edit: Ninja'd.
There was hints of a Jade court (Chinese Vampires, which if they follow the usual lore would be the ones that steal your breath) at at some point Probably an African court, though i cant be sure which vamp type they would be based on (African vamp lore has some interesting examples... one of them was a type that hangs upside down and pulls you up into the trees... and can only turn you if they manage to do this twice. The first time would only drain you of vitality, but you would stay alive and human. And there were a few other examples I don't remember offhand). And an India court though I am versed on 0 Indian vamp types that could possibly be used. This is all conjecture of course, but interesting possibilities none the less, as the vamp types do seem to be sort of divied up by country so far though not quite.
Not quite. I might have used the phrase "mutual OCP" before, but if not, it definitely applies here: Who would win in a hypothetical war between serious-united-Fae-courts and the TSAB largely depends on which side gets over its collective oh-god-what-the-fuck and starts adapting first.
One thing I find interesting is that in Nanoha canon female mages tend to be stronger than male mages while in Dresden canon mage lines are primarily passed down through the matrilineal line.
Is this actually stated? The female mages being stronger? Or is this a case of the protagonists being female and also being strong?
Especially since if the TSAB reads the Unseelie Accords and realizes that all the Fae power is effectively tied down by a massive web of limiters whereas they can release theirs at any time... Not to mention the TSAB has Devices that can memorize the entire Accords and search through it in seconds to spot catches and loopholes.
The TSAB is not part of the Accords. Thus, anyone in the Accords is free to act against them however they wish (as far as the Accords are concerned). Remember: The Accords are literally a Fair Folk Contract.
