The Nanto Goshasei (Rihaku of the Ocean, Hyūi of the Wind, Shuren of the Flames, Fudoh of the Mountains, and Juza of the Clouds) are pulled from the world of Hokuto no Ken and deposited into Avatar: The Last Airbender / Legend of Korra. The first four appear in the capitals of their corresponding nation (Shuren in the Fire Nation's capital, for example), or - if lacking a capital - the largest city / settlement to that nation. Juza meanwhile is wandering about, continuing his regular state of affairs. Scenarios are as follows: Scenario A) Beginning of Avatar: The Last Airbender. They believe Aang to be their responsibility / the Last Nanto General, and will work to ensure his survival / delay attempts on his life. Note that their intelligence is not changed, so Shuren (for example again) won't immediately go crazy and get himself mobbed in the Fire Nation capital, at least unless something happens to make him so agitated (ex: Hyūi being killed by a ranking Fire Nation member). Scenario B) Beginning of Avatar: Legend of Korra. The same as above, but with Korra instead of Aang. Here their goal is less against a military power (Fire Nation), and more the Equalists who might try to steal Korra's power / execute her. Scenario C) Beginning of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Goshasei no longer begin in any of the cities, but those with armies and / or fortifications have those brought along with them. Instead of protecting the Avatar, now they believe the Fire Nation to be a threat to the Last Nanto General, and will fight to conquer / stop the Fire Nation before they can dominate the world. For this scenario Juza is considered aware of the Last Nanto General's true identity, and thus will fight alongside his / the General's troops.
