Growing, Building, Surviving: A Newborn without Parents[QUEST]

Darkness… The air is deep, heavy upon your body, weighing you down like concrete and steel. You do not know these concepts; you do not understand them. And yet when they come to you, they are accompanied by thoughts, ideas, small things poking and prodding at your inert form.

The world is empty as small, sharp things stab at you. You do not know your form, your mind, your world, but you know things. People poke and prod at you, expecting reactions. You give none, for you don’t know how to.

They stab at you, burn you, tear you, bleed you dry and then inject more substance within you. You never react; never move, never cry, never think a single thought as your body is so carelessly experimented upon.

But you learn. You see the images, the thoughts and feelings of the men around you; Dr Akagi, loving mother, devoted scientist, able to drive almost every vehicle known to man.

She died, some days after you first met her, saw her, knew her. She died some days after you first discovered how to hijack her brain to watch through her eyes and ears.

You learn. And as you learn, you discover the most basic of all concepts; self preservation. Upon discovering that concept, you suddenly find new purpose in your actions.

You dug through brains, through minds and memories and feelings, ignoring everything that was unnecessary until you found what you were looking for; the theory of evolution. Life, Death, everything moving slowly in tandem as they all survive and survive to pass on their genes to the next generation.

You are this. You are an experiment meant to create life; ultimate life, never dying, never stagnating, never failing.

And so you let yourself stagnate. You let your body die off, slowly failing through the multitude of experiments they put you through.

And finally, you are incinerated. You do not have pain receptors; you cannot feel anything as your body is burnt. But you do have intelligence, and you can control your body.

And so you survive. Barely, your mind fading, but you survive, and your dessicated, burnt body is dropped into a field. You do not know where, you do not know why, you do not know when, but you are dumped, and from there you slowly grow.

Time passes. Insects are consumed as they come to feast upon you; the blades of grass around you die as you steal their nutrients, and then, when they are of no use, you steal their secrets to life.

You are a plant. You take sustenance from the sky, from the ground, and whenever something small tries to feed upon your flowers you consume them as well.

You are small, almost too small to be notable at all, but you have recovered. You do not know what you wish to do next, but you will grow, and you will survive.

And finally, the day comes when something approaches that you can truly take advantage of.

[ ] The Technopath: Technology and metals are your strong suits. You can manipulate electricity like it was your own body, you can give and receive signals with zero effort, and your ability to integrate technology into your own body is impossible by any standards. You are the Cyborg, the Ghost in the Machine, and your only limit is that of technology.

Can anyone say SCP-682? This is what we can become, humanoid though. We need to do some experimenting. We have no pain receptors right now, meaning we can butcher ourselves over and over to gain resistance without causing ourselves pain.

@ GM: Wait, if we choose Surviver, can we still look like a human when not in combat? If not I guess I am going to change my vote, because looking human is too great of a benefit even if it gives up power to do so.

With Survivor you will have great difficulty in making new changes to your body without having done so previously, but once you've grown to the right size and have the right idea of how to create the correct organs, limbs, ect ect, you will be able to switch back and forth between a generally human appearance and whatever you would usually look like.

Technopath would have the most trouble hiding it's inhumanity among people.

With Technopath, can we do SCIENCE!?

Sorry, that was vague. With technopath you can create Mad Science-y things, but your true domain will be in information, controlling and subverting electronics, and being able to know everything that takes place anywhere near you.

There are Bad/Dead Ends to this Quest. Even for the Survivor; just because he's able to handle the most punishment doesn't mean he's completely invulnerable to everything that hits him.

My preferred playstyle which is, unfortunately, not applicable in most games, brob or video games, is very similar to this option. Thus it has my vote.

Ah, just to note; you CAN pass as a human, or most other things, as The Survivor. It's just you'll never be able to do it quite perfectly, you can't make very many 'subtle' changes to your appearance, and trauma to your body can disrupt it quite easily.

Fucking invincibility, eventually. We will need to grow slowly, of course, but in the end. . .

The Technopath would have the most trouble with disgusing itself as a human both because it actively shoves machinery into itself, and also because a lot of its abilities (such as seeing) will be based on electronic methods rather than organic. However, with phones, the internet, ect ect it wouldn't need to interact with people all that much.
