    They be trollin.

Bryke is very good at trollin.
  2. Silveraith Argentum Phasma Phasmatis

Part of me hopes Ursa was a Master Firebender.
  3. Renewal Boring Person #5883781345

Well, I doubt they'd let someone's who's just a pretty face into the Royal Family, especially during the war. Ursa would definitely have brought something valuable to the marriage; at the very least she's a nonbender badass like Ty Lee or Mai.
  4. Silveraith Argentum Phasma Phasmatis

Or she's of Noble birth; Avatar Roku's descendant would automatically make anybody a noble.
  5. Renewal Boring Person #5883781345

I'd assume there's many noble families; Ursa must have been something special to stick out then. Of course, Ozai wasn't the Crown Prince at the time, so his marriage might not be so critical.

AH well. Idle speculation is fun as always.
  6. king of hybrids Bewildered Bystander

That, or like so many fire lords, azulon was sufficiently dominated by daddy that he brokered the marriage as a twisted olive branch to roku's family?
  7. savagemonitor Your Mom's Open Source!

That or Roku married into nobility which is entirely possible given that his wife had access to the royal family.
  8. Crysis Psycho Nanosuited Psychopath

Or her family had a lot of political capital. Remember, royal/noble marriages (at least in a functioning monarchy) aren't merely concerned with only the individuals actually being married.
  9. shangrila ...

Roku was noble, probably very high noble. He was the best and far as we can tell only friend of then Crown Prince Sozin until informed of being the Avatar at age 16. It's exceedingly unlikely the Crown Prince would have been allowed to pal around with a commoner into their late teens. It's the kind of relationship that means Prime Minister when the Prince inherits, and even minor nobles without significant power bases of their own in that position would be subject to endless conspiracy and assassination attempts.

Zuko, I know finding your mother is important but do you really think taking your sister out of a mental hospital to do it is a good idea?

Somehow, considering the rather large imprint ursa left in azula's mind, I don't doubt that azula probably knows more about where ursa ended up than ozai (if only because ozai's rather apathetic about ursa's fate)
  12. Just saw the whole season and rally liked it.

Too many pages on this thread to lurk it all, but noticed bitching about Mako and his dickery. Cut kid some slack. He is in a middle of a war, it is not easy to formally break up while you are being chased by revolutionaries or hiding from them. It is not an everyday normal life in episodes and he probably is confused and do not have time to sort all his feelings.

  14. RazorSmile ROU Once A Knife Missile

  15. That's true.

Except one of them's 4chan. Do not take anything on 4chan as an adequate representation of the internet.

Also, there should be a law somewhere: "The larger an internet debate, the validity of the arguments raised drop exponentially, as more and more idiots enter."
  16. BobTheNinja Wandering Through Cyberspace

Just watched thew season finale today and holy SHIT. A Pearl Harbor style aerial attack, the reveal of Amon as Tarlock's brother and their history, and ending with their suicide?

Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a cartoon series get this dark, but I LOVE it! :D

  17. So I have to ask this. Does Sato have a copy of Red Alert or something? How exactly does he pull these devices out of nowhere?

  18. Luke Danger That would be so cool if it wasnt going to hurt us

Now I'm suddenly imaginging the Equalists popping up out of nowhere being due to a freaking Chronosphere...

Though if the Equalists have a Refinery or two, that DOES explain their ability to field all that crap...
  19. Teen Spirit Clone Murderer

Guy has a shit load of money and is very dedicated to the cause. Probably spent years and years working on this things. Also the guy probably has a number of hidden or remote factories.
  20. Well, I mean, the cars and Mechs make sense but it's pretty clear that Sato is personally responsible for probably 40-45 years of technological development over the course of like six months.

The Planes are what break it for me. Because those are not basic prototypes, and it takes significant time to develop working airplanes.

Not only that but he has them equipped for Aircraft on Aircraft combat.
  21. Luke Danger That would be so cool if it wasnt going to hurt us

Assuming the planes and the like weren't in the works for a lot longer, yeah. Though airplanes were a logical next step once they had cars and airships, particularly since they had also cracked gliders with the Mechanist. Sato probably just put two and two together and did some playing around out in the ass end middle of nowhere to keep it secret.

Given that Future Industries was one of the leading tech corps in the Avatar world, I'm not surprised that he would be able to give the Equalists plans and funds over ten years to amount up to what we saw. I suspect that he has been working on it for a long time, and they started fielding the mechs and such once the Equalists moved into the phase of open conflict instead of a couple chi blockers and protesters.
  22. Sabertooth Little Red Wolf Hunter

Azula might have changed...pppf who am I kidding?
  23. Teen Spirit Clone Murderer

She actually might have, complete mental collapses can do a lot to a person's personalty.
  24. Huh. You know, I was not expecting that ending. I figured Season two would be about Korra trying to restore her ability to bend. Taking care of that in the finale makes me wonder what comes next. Timeskip, I guess?
  25. BobTheNinja Wandering Through Cyberspace

Yeah, I got that vibe as well at first, though I really didn't expect Amon to be offed this early. He made for an excellent villain.
