  1. Megaguiras SCIENCE! Dinosaur

Should have a post for you today after work Kevin. Spent yesterday visiting a relative in the hospital after a surgery so I just wasn't feeling up to writing anything when I got home.
  2. Caine FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I'm back and will have a post up later!

Drachyench, feel free to wing it - I encourage that, in fact. The way I see it, if I'm going to have to start making rolls (not that I'm adverse to it) I'd probably have to have a system to go with it or I'd feel weird about it. Generally, I'll post here if I've got plans for something or I'll let you know by PMs. Small things though? Yeah, I'll probably let each player handle them.

Krinsbez, if you want to do something at the firing range, I'll refrain for posting for Jules just yet.

Kevin, you are a posting machine.
  3. Glassware Alien Stowaway

Just a short post to prove that I'm still in this. Kevin's stuff makes me feel a bit inferior, heh.

If it's any consolation - I'm actually a professional writer. Admitadly, I'm a professional TECHNICAL writer, (I'm actually a Programmer/Writer - I write SDK's, code samples, and assorted programming documentation), but there's a lot of transferrence between technical writing and creative writing.

The big thing is the "I will set aside an hour a day to do this, even if I don't feel like it, and I will write the entire time" discipline. After that, it's mainly the experience with treating writing as a craft, complete with being comfortable with deadlines, editing cycles, and so on.

And Emma's actions have kicked up the hornet's nest. My thought is that they'll takea few minutes to get organized, but will be swarming Langside (the general neighborhood that was burned to the ground) just after the end of Emma's previous post (if she'd been paying attention, she could probably hear them signaling each other via whistles and calls and whatnot.)

Drachyench - if this is occuring simultaneously, guards may be pulled off the eastern gate, or at least feel harried enough that they'll rush folks through (unlikely they'll close it off, at least not yet).

EDIT - just read your post. Nice. :)
  6. Well, I still waiting for Sarpedon response
  7. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

    Decision on re-entry?
  8. Sarpedon Shadow Cabal Space Pirate

Heh I have a ton of essays right now. I'll try to get something up this weekend.
  9. Take you time. RL is more important. What doesn't mean I can't complain a little:)
  10. krinsbez Bruce of Clan Campbell

I'll try to get something up.

BTW, do to preparations for the upcoming holidays, not to mention the holidays themselves, I will probably not be able to post anthing to this next week.
  11. FourthWall Had It Coming

I'm waiting on Sasquatch to come back so I can make a contract; if he doesn't come back, should I just jack Catherine?
  12. krinsbez Bruce of Clan Campbell

Glassware: Would you be averse to my having Forgepaw start a conversation with Asri?

Megaguiras & Captain Orsai: Would it be acceptable for Dreadbeak to now eat the Kabalite, or do you still have plans for him?
  13. Caine FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I'd say feel free, it seems to be the direction he's heading in anyways. I'll try to get into contact with Sasquatch, last I heard he was busy with schoolwork.
  14. Caine FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Oh, Kevin, Drach, Megaguiras, since you're the only people 'on the ground' do you want to handle Kevin's Dark Eldar idea, or would you like me to start it off? I've been wondering just how much control you'd like me to exert down there for the moment.
  15. Drachyench Registered

I'm fine with whoever wishes to take control, so long as it's "not me" :p
  16. Kevin Schultz Once bit his sister

You starting it off is fine. I was planning on having the guard running around be a bust in terms of capturing anyone, but using it mainly to show off the city more and give a bit more history as to what happened last time, as well as to show what preparations the city has done in the meantime. I was also planning on using it as a sort of implied "boy who cried wolf" idea, in that the eldar aren't actually attacking NOW - but they will do soon. However, I'll probably be doing that with the guard posts over the next couple of days, unless anything else happens.

Note: I'm going to be gone for the weekend (martial arts seminar in Spokane), so I won't likely be posting near as much as I have been for the past week.
  17. krinsbez Bruce of Clan Campbell

Looks like I won't have time to post today, after all. I try to have something Sun, but if I miss that, you can probably write me off for the rest of the week.
  18. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

Still waiting on some sort of reply Even if it's' check in later' again.
  19. Captain Orsai Raven Guard Chaplain

I'm fine with that - the DE warrior's served its plot use, and I didn't have anything else planned for it. Dunno if Megas has anything he wants to do with/to the thing though.

    Also, Kaylee's bio (for now);
    Name: Kaylee
    Species: Human
    Home universe: Codex Alera
    Age: 16
    Height: 5' 0"
    Hair: Dark blonde
    Eyes: Brown
    Rank/position: Healer, Third Antillan Legion
    Equipment:
    Nothing right now

Kaylee was born on a steadholt on the northern edge of the Amaranth Vale, youngest of her family's five children, and lived an essentially normal life for a holder's daughter, coming into her furies at the age of eleven. That might have continued if not for the blight that swept through the region when Kaylee was fourteen, killing her father and eldest sister and rendering her barren. Not long after that, she left home, set on putting her talents as a healer to use with the Northern Legions.

Since then, her cheerful, affable demeanour has hardened somewhat under the stress of serving as a healer with one of the most frequently and heavily embattled Legions in Alera, while learning more about crafting whole blade wounds and broken bones than she'd ever wanted to. Still, neither that or any of the secrets she's learnt serving there have stopped her managing to smile more often than not.

    Abilities
Like all Alerans, Kaylee is capable of some measure of furycrafting, though she has no more than extremely basic abilities in four (wind, wood, fire and earth) of the six crafting types. Her strongest crafting discipline is her watercraft, which allows her to heal minor and some major injuries (provided the injury is immersed in water), as well as causing her to sense emotions. Kaylee also has enough ability in the emotional control discipline of metalcrafting to prevent the emotions sensed through her watercrafting being overwhelming.

(any more information's needed therein, just ask and I'll look it up)
  20. Megaguiras SCIENCE! Dinosaur

I've got no plans, munch away good sir!
  21. Glassware Alien Stowaway

Not in the slightest, my good fellow. Post away.
  22. I hope this one is not dead yet?
  23. krinsbez Bruce of Clan Campbell

No, it is not! My recent post proves it.

And that's probably all I'll be doing for this for the remainder of the week. Hope I did Asri alright.
  24. Caine FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Kevin, I think I'll go forward with the Dark Eldar idea (tomorrow) unless you want me to hold off for any particular reason?
  25. Kevin Schultz Once bit his sister

    Hm..., well, my posts were going to be as follows;

    1. Get the guards to the ruins (just posted)

    2. Get them investigating, and following Emma to the bar (post later tonight, hopefully)

    3. Get Emma to realize where the Grim Servant of Death is (in the bar)

    4. Have the guards inturrupt her before she goes in.

    5. Guards realize that something really nasty is in that bar - they make the connection with whatever it was that came out of the ruins.

    6. Emma actually manages to get herself deputized (or at the least, communicates what she's trying to do, and interprets their vague gestures in the best possible light, thus giving her plausable denaibility - it's important for heroes to work with the local lawmen whenever possible, you know.).

    7. THEN, goes to confront the bar.

Based on my posting speed, I can probably get this covered in 3 days or so. However, that's focusing pretty hard on me (as folks seem to be waiting for me to catch up, so they can interact). Do you plan on actually having them attack soon, or is this just the foreshadowing for later?
