Point of order: Agatha is far more chaotic than her mother.
Slaver wasps and similar are things of order. Tyrannical order maybe but still order.

PoO 2: Griffons are not the apex predator on that tame deathworld. That title, probably, goes to the dragons. Or maybe the Ursa Major.

PoO 3: Ponies by all evidence, such as cake, can stomach meat. Although raw rabbit, with fur, would probably be a stretch. Doubly with her expecting to throw up.

Didn’t much like the ‘A MARE’ bit. All male mines have very, very unpleasant implications.

So... no comment on solid clouds?
No comment on Gilda being able to fly, while encumbered, with a five foot wingspan in contemptuous defiance of physics?

I very much like that you aren’t rushing straight to the mane six.
  2. Agatha hasn't come close to seeing what's really out there. Although she won't have quite the same shocked reaction as someone from our world. Her homeland is--if possible--even worse than Equestria in many respects. As for the solid clouds, she was pretty mind-boggled by it all. Right now she doesn't have the mental space to go into Sparky Curiosity Mode. She's trying to survive.

I know that there have been some instances where ponies have been shown eating foods that appeared like meat, like ham. But in "Over a Barrel", Pinkie Pie explicitly said that ponies were vegetarian. I'm going along with the concept that any meat ponies are seen eating are the equivalent of tofu or some other substitute.

About flight and solid clouds. Both of those are very much explainable, if one assumes that the air pressure is far higher than normal for earth. This way effective weight (force of gravity minus Archimedes force) will be low and flight becomes easy. Since Agatha already accepted that she isn't on the same world, those facts won't surprise her too much. Until she sees blatant things like a sledgehammer lying on a cloud.

Also, Gryffons have hands. Well, they have fingers at least.
  4. Hazard Stop poking already

Increased air pressures require either increased gravity or thicker atmospheres. Atmospheres thick enough to make flight possible with a pegasus' wings would be considerably darker in comparison to Earths.

But if the star providing the planet with light was much more luminous, then you might get similar light conditions.

Closer sun, weather and atmosphere control (to clean pollen and dust). And yes, I was talking about thicker atmosphere.
  7. Hazard Stop poking already

And in both cases much much higher temperatures. While that might not look like much and with the right margins you might even come close to simply shifting the centigrade scale upwards a little, Kelvin will care, and with that chemistry. Biochemistry is very heat sensitive and macro scale life forms don't work well from around 310, 320 degrees Kelvin upwards.

They'd need an entire new branch of proteins just to make the body work without having its molecular components falling to bits.
  8. Vulpine Fury It's MAAAAAGIC!

Bellisario's Maxim, I'd think... but then we ARE talking about a Spark...
  9. That explanation doesn't really work for the fried eggs that Rarity made for Sweety Bell.
  10. Vulpine Fury It's MAAAAAGIC!

She's using the distinction between "vegetarian" and "vegan."
  11. Yes, but you also have to end up using the distinction between vegetarian and herbivore. For that matter - real life horses will eat things like hamburger without problem as long as it's cooked according to some member of this forum who work with horses.

Raw though, is going to make anything not raised on it sick.
  12. There's no mention of equines in this article, but apparently herbivores eating meat is a lot more common than many people realize.
  13. As for Gilda's flight, Agatha is a Spark. Their natural reaction to someone beating the laws of physics with a lead lined rubber hose isn't "That can't be happening" but more "Oooh, how did you manage to do that, and can I top it?"

Perhaps Glida wakes up with Agatha spreading one of her wings, checking it out and scratching aerodynamic equations on the floor?
  14. Angelform Celestia’s messenger

And that is as it should be. However there should be some reaction, even just her consciously shrugging it off.

There is a vast, vast different between being vegetarian and being physiologically incapable of stomaching meat.

About Agatha's reaction to magic down the line.

Agatha already knows that magic exists. It exists in GGverse. Remember this 130 years old guy?
  16. Sliverlord Just waiting for you to walk by.

    I... You...

Just keep writing, I'll go and try to get my happiness level down from the rafters.
  17. mackon Missing & Presumed Dead

Enjoy the characterisation of Gilda, feels spot on from what we saw of her. Tools are going to be a problem I think when Agatha gets her hooves on some. IIRC we have seen Ponies just pick up and hold/manipulate things that they really shouldn't be able to without fingers and thumbs but I'm not sure to what extent or how Agatha would react.
  18. Only in defiance of RL physics. In Agatha's world that's so common there's no need to mention it. Now when she gets around to examining how exactly Gilda flies and finds no evidence of any of the mechanisms Sparks used to make all their physics defying flying machines - then she might comment on Gilda's flying ability.
  19. Sliverlord Just waiting for you to walk by.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Gilda woke up to find Agatha looking at her wings and scribbling on the floor. But nothing too major for a while. The whole magic thing would be a little more interesting.

Though I was somewhat expecting her to hurl after half a raw dead rabbit. Most people would have a problem with that (vegetarian pony diet notwithstanding.) Though that hasenpfeffer sounded good...
  20. Uh, guys? Pegasi and griffons being able to stand or lie on clouds--which aren't solid unless those actions are taken--isn't about stuff like thicker atmospheres. It's magic. And no, Agatha won't be sanguine about the issue. Things like electricity and physics have concrete theories in the GG world. Agatha explicitly talks about ionization when discussing Gil's lightning generators. Sparks just take weird shortcuts that allow SCIENCE! manipulation to sidestep the limits of mere common technology. Being able to stand around and move clouds that to other ponies are water vapour is something new.

As for eggs: I assume that the ponies think of them as eggs, not eating unborn chicken fetuses. They probably hoof-wave it mentally as being the equivalent of eating an apple.
  21. Sliverlord Just waiting for you to walk by.

Well I knew that one, she wouldn't hypothesize a thicker atmosphere closer to the sun, instead she'd be more likely to ask what they're doing standing there on a cloud and how they did it. She'd want to figure out what was different with them, and how she could do something like that (Though not as fun as walking on Sunshine). Though she'd still need hands first.
  22. Or to paraphrase a Rage Comic: "You aren't eating a fetus because it hasn't been fertilized. Rather, you're eating a chicken's menstration."
  23. Or helpful little clanks...

Oh Celestia, I have a vision of Pinkie Pie playing around with Agatha's Clockwork Tool Digital Manipulators, when something goes sproing, and our favorite pink mare panics as they kidnap her.
  24. Harry Leferts That Suave Kaiju

Me? I can't wait until Agatha meets Twilight and her presence nearby causes our favorite purple Unicorn to develop into a full fledged Spark...
  25. Sliverlord Just waiting for you to walk by.

Well, that would be a suitable second option. Though hands would probably be preferable. It has been shown that they can make prosthetic hands, or at least something similar. But I would like to see Pinky being carried off on a sea of dingbots.
