Given it with Avengers it has fully developed into a shared universe of it's own, what crossovers or ideas could be made with the setting?

It works -really well- with early Stargate SG-1.

I've even thought of writing a crossover integrating them with the point of departure in the Thor's Chariot episode.

It would be something about how instead of getting a real time connection to a Roswell Grey, Daniel manages to contact with movie Thor (optionally drunk out of his ass) who reacts with outrage to the news of Goa'uld invading a world under HIS personal protection.

And when the Jaffa are taking SG1 back to Heru'ur's campsite instead of a hammer-shaped spaceship, out of the clouds appears the Bifrost (which would be a more advanced/refined/powerful form of the same technology used in the Stargates) and out come Thor + Warriors Three + Sif to kick ass and take names.

I had an idea like this last week. About the Asgardians being the ones from actual Norse mythology instead of Roswell greys. Of course, I'm not very well read on actual Norse mythology, so I was going with the Marvel interpretation.

Anyway, if someone would write this I would definitely read it. Though, do Asgardians also have spaceships? I mean, the Bifrost is one thing, but what about when the Goa-uld start nuking from orbit? Not many Asgardians have the ability to go into deep space unaided. I think. Unless you make the Asgardians all one-man armies.

Overkill, Thor by himself is more then enough.
  5. thesevenwielder Pondering...

Yes, but he can't be everywhere at once. Then again, maybe that's why they have a treaty with the Goa'uld. While Thor can decimate Goa'uld motherships with ease he is only one god, and very few Asgardians can travel through space unaided.
  6. NexusCell This is why we can't have nice things.

A crossover with the Capcom universes!

    I kid, I kid.
  7. I like the SG:1 idea.

I'd like to see a crossover with the Nolanverse Batman, OR with the Watchmen universe. I'm not entirely sure how to accomplish either of those, but I'd like to see them.

Also, having taking a brief browse of the Avengers movie section on FF.net, I'd like to see more stories about Captain America that don't involve buttsex with Tony Stark.
  9. Damar Genuine Mastermind

Agent Coulson visiting Gotham. Awesomeness ensues.

Oh dear god, the TvTrope Fanfic Recommendation list is nothing but(see what I did there) Tony/Stark.

As for some of my own ideas, I'd like to see a Men in Black crossover, with either the MiB and SHIELD having jurisdiction issues on the matter of aliens, or J being recruited by Coulson to be an Agent of SHIELD.
  10. Redrangerpower Back to Action

Hey, stop trying to get in on my racket. ;)

Coulson would, of course, already be known by Alfred and utterly baffle Bruce Wayne when he casually mentions that he knows about the Wayne family secret.

The most obvious ones would be integrating the other Marvel movies. Since the movieverse has far less baggage than the comicverse, you have much more freedom to slide new things into it. A popular idea I've seen on ff.net so far is: SHIELD goes international with the Avengers initiative, picking up everybody from the Highlander, to the DC movieverse heroes, to the new Sherlock Holmes or the Doctor. Heroes also seems like it has potential.

Personally, I'd love a Dresden Files TV show/Thor crossover. Thor is cast out right into the middle of Chicago, and whose door should he crash through but the only wizard in the phone book.

Your thinking to much, he's Thor. THOR!!:D besides didn't you say he was drunk as a lord?

Not sure any author could capture the level of awsome that is Coulson.

I'd like to do a story set in a shared universe between Watchmen and the Marvel movies, in which the Cold War continues to the modern day against a surviving Soviet Union in 2012, and the Avengers Initiative was started by SHIELD in order to assemble the greatest heroes in the Western world to give NATO a spec. ops edge over the Warsaw Pact. However, when the Comedian is murdered in New York, Rorschach unearths a plot orchestrated by forces with sinister designs for the Tesseract. What do you guys think? Can the Avengers and Watchmen universes be successfully melded? I think with a little bit of work, modifying the ages on some of the Watchmen heroes, having Doctor Manhattan's creation occur later in history, the Vietnam War go for longer, et cetera, it could work.
  13. Damar Genuine Mastermind

You could have the Marvels appear in the 70's, like Tony getting hurt in the Vietnam War, with Banner exposed to gamma radiation, Thor exiled and Cap defrosting around the same period, adding a middle class of heroes who are between the street heroes and Manhattan.

The Comedian could be a Bucky who didn't die, and Natasha the Silk Spectre's daughter, who went into goverment wetworking instead of publicity to escape her mother's expectations.
  14. EricD Token Christian

Actually I was thinking of having the Marvels appear in the present day as part of this new generation of heroes emerging, while the Watchmen such as Nite Owl II, Rorschach, Ozymandias and all them started in the late 80s and the early 90s, with the Comedian being the oldest, having started in the 70s. I was thinking that the Comedian would be the result of a failed American attempt to replicate the Captain America serum in order to change the course of the Vietnam War. After it created the Comedian instead of another Captain America, Nixon asked Doctor Manhattan to intervene in Vietnam, leading to an American victory.
  15. Damar Genuine Mastermind

    Interesting.

What about the Soviets having their own Avengers, like Ivan Vanko and Emil Blonsky for a start, but also having inherited HYDRA's tech with Arnim Zola running to them to avoid persecution to explain the USSR still existing in the 90's, and aided by corrupt Western industrialists like Stane and Hammer?
  16. DarkGidora Dead To You All

It was suggested in the Prototype Crossover thread, but a Prototype/Avengers crossover could be interesting.
  17. maguado87 Softy

Wouldn't Black Widow be part of that team? Plus don't mean Russia not the Soviet Union?
  18. EricD Token Christian

We're talking about my Marvel Cinematic/Watchmen shared universe idea, in which the Cold War continues to the present day and the Soviet Union still exists and is still the 2nd world superpower in 2012. In this universe, the Avengers Initiative was started by SHIELD as a NATO counter to a similar team of Soviet operatives. In this timeline, the Soviets are using HYDRA technology to try to find a way of neutralizing the advantage that NATO possesses with Doctor Manhattan being on the United States' side.
  19. Damar Genuine Mastermind

I was thinking Natasha being a double or triple agent, playing all sides.

For other ideas, while this propably would mess up the Watchmen side of things, the 'Crimebusters' could be covert goverment attempts at replicating Steve Rogers after their more extreme attempts resulted in failure or Manhattan(who they fear as much as they depend on his power), and SHIELD manipulated people into becoming heroes by tech(Nite Owl, who himself was suprised at his father leaving behind all that money), training since birth(Silk Spectre) and subtle mental conditioning(Rorschach).

And Adrian Veidt could be an old acquaintance, being German-born, possessing genius intellect, above human abilities and the perfect Aryan body...
  20. maguado87 Softy

He sounds like a Captain America fan?
  21. Ultimate Marvel Blackwidow then?
  22. Ult Marvel Black Widow is a complete heartless cow.
  23. maguado87 Softy

Didn't she kill Hawkeyes/Bulleyes family? And fuck around with Stark mind?
  24. She wasn't evil she was a loyal agent of her country who acted to destroy valuable assets of a enemy nation. If her faction had succeeded she would have gone down in the history books as a great russian hero.
  25. Slybrarian Shiftship Pilot

Is there anyone in the Ultimate universe who isn't a gigantic jackass?
