  1. GreggHL Savors the ignore button.

The best wya to describe it as "A Wuxia God Princess who has become so awesome that the highest gods in existence have decided 'You're awesome enough that we're going to help you.'"
  2. havocfett Shadow Cabal Token Muslim

And this is proof that Humanity Wank is a terrible idea.

Because Human Wank is a bad storytelling device the vast majority of the time? I mean, it's one of the main criticisms that I level at ME, and certainly one of the major criticisms levelled at the setting as a whole.

A solar would be insulted if you compared them to a demi-god, or the vast, vast majority of gods.

They kick deific ass. A better comparison is....Asura. From Asura's Wrath. I mean 'punch Reapers to death' is likely going to be a valid strategy, by the end of this.

Personally, I would have put the transformation at the death of Saren, but hey, the Holy Tyrant has dramatic timing.

...What's her virtue flaw, I wonder?
  3. @GregHL
    fund it....
  4. NeoSeether Time Diver

Ah, Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time.

Still manages to simultaneously amuse and irritate me as a fan of that series to no end in both directions.

Also, as far as I'm concerned, has the single most awesome supporting JRPG female semi-lead in the form of Nel Zelpher. Full. Stop.

Honorable mention for Maria Traydor to a somewhat lesser degree.
  5. elemenster your soul has tells

while there has been plenty of awsome such as Reboot!Sheppard and Exalt!Sheppard why has the potential lol of this awsome gone unsuported?
  6. GreggHL Savors the ignore button.

    Cause I was thinking more.

    "Do it."

Garrus Vakarian glances between the other three people in the room. Jacob Taylor nods, face flushed with excitement. Miranda Lawson shrugs. And Jane Shepard rolls her head, audible cracks as she braces her feet on the ground.

Still looking good for someone who supposedly hit a planet. Without a ship.

    "Are you sure…" Garrus asks.

"Do it!" Jane says, "Trust me!"

Shrugging, Garrus aims the gun, aiming for the shoulder. He glances over to Miranda.

    "You…uh…you can fix her, right?"

    "Yes. That was the plan."

Garrus nods, and squeezes the trigger. On the super slow motion high speed film, there was still no movement. One moment she was standing still, and the next moment her hand was up, deflecting the bullet into the wall where it joined its brothers from previous practice.

    "How in the-"

"I have no idea," Miranda responds, leaning over and pushing Garrus' jaw closed, "Maybe…maybe biotic? That's my best guess. Because if she's putting up a field around her hands, maybe increasing reaction time…"

"Doesn't explain how I can catch bullets," Jane responds.

    "Not catch, deflect."

"I can," Jane defends, "It just burns my hand. Which then heals."

"Lazarus had some plans," Miranda says, pinching the bridge of her nose, "Some of the implants could do something similar, increasing perception, boosting adrenaline. But nothing on this level."

"So all being said, I prefer this to being stuffed with Reaper tech."

"You were supposed to be dead!" Miranda shouts "You somehow survived reentry, got up, killed an entire squad of Blue Suns bare handed who the Collectors sent to find you, and then flew away! The original idea was that we were going to revive you!"

Face red, Miranda throws up her arms and stomps out. Jane shrugs. Jacob shrugs in response. Then his face lights up again.

"Show him the YMIR," Jacob says. Jane smiles, tapping her omnitool, and the floor behind her opens up, gears whirring as the platform raises with the stocky, 3 meter high robot.

"YMIR," Garrus says, "Those things are designed to fight Colossi."

The transparent wall rises between the Commander and them.

"Don't worry," Jacob says, "It's set to stun rounds. But this is gonna be fucking awesome."

Twin chain guns whir to life, and the YMIR opens fire. Her form blurs, the bullets apparently going through her. High speed camera would show her moving between the blanks as they flew by her, even in her armor. Passing them between seams, passing between steps.

    Uncoiling Serpent Prana

A flash of gold and she lances forward, as if carried by her hand. A split second and she strikes the YMIR in the arm, severing the chain gun from the elbow.

    Essence Venom Strike

A flash of gold, and her other hand severs the other arm. Another flash, and a leg falls at the knee, the YMIR standing unsteadily on one leg.

    Heaven's Thunder Hammer

A shout, and Jane's fist strikes the YMIR in the chest. Metal caves in, the armor of the heavy combat mech warping around her much, much smaller fist. A flash of gold as bright as the sun, and the YMIR flies back, slamming into the back wall with enough force to dent the bulkhead.

As the reactor breaches and it explodes, she turns and walks back, the shockwave picking up speed, and doing naught but causing her kinetic barriers to flare and her hair to move in the breeze.

Again, Jacob moves to push Garrus' jaw closed. His own face is frozen in an ear to ear grin.

"Okay," she says, cracking her knuckles, "Let's make a team. I feel like fucking up the Collectors."
  7. Cyclone Disciple of Zor

Only played first edition, but if she's Paragon, I figure it's probably Compassion, considering the few things we see that can actually piss off Paragon Shep.
  8. Yog

First of all, GreggHL, while it is cool, what the hell has she been doing last two years after the crash, as it seems that there is footage of Freedom progress, and Garrus is Archangel, which suggests that timeline is close to the original. If she was with cerberus (which I frankly don't see in this situation) training (and she was training, if she has charms now), than Miranda wouldn't be so surprised about her abilities.

She could have been going after Shafow broker, but a) it wouldn't have taken her two years and b) Garrus would have been right there with her.

Though it could be that Shepard was disharged / put on leave (after getting the freaking promotion, I hope) after the destruction of Normandy and cerberus came up with an offer of new ship and funding. Yes, it could be like this.

    Still very good though.

On the other topic, I read this in ME: Circular thread:

So, what if Liara's father was the doctor (and yes, he is an Asari in this regeneration - he is a barman while on vacation or something).
  9. GreggHL Savors the ignore button.

We're gonna say 'Hijinks' for now.

    But long story would be:

After disposing of the blue suns in Wuxia Princess fashion, a Cerberus team lands afterwards. Miranda sends LOKI robots to investigate, and Jane promptly kung fus them (at one point beating a LOKI with another LOKI). Miranda, wisely, tells them that they were sent to rescue her, want to talk with her and please don't punch them.

    Jane agrees.

Hence going with Miranda, finding out they're Cerberus, and getting Garrus in that scene- basically finds him on the Citadel, tells him she needs his help, and we get to that scene.

    And then more kung fuing.

Which in this sort of story is a present continuous verb.
  10. Yog

Oh, this is going to be fun.

Don't Exalts get access to some magical materials? I wonder if Cerberus is rich enough to cough up enough gold to make entire Normandy hull out of it.

At least armor is a must.

Plus healing Joker. I think (I am basing most of my knowledge on Cast in Gold here) Jane would be able to do it, won't she?

Also, is she a biotic? If yes, how are her biotics affected?
  11. As awesome as Solar!Shepard is, I somehow want to see Lunar!Shepard. Because then s/he could use Emperor Ox Expansion to wrestle Reapers in the ruins of Tokyo.
It depends on her skills and Charms (which are basically the magic tricks that make the Exalted so goddamn awesome compared to puny mortals). Generally, they heavily augment an already existing skill/ability to a supernatural degree.

For example, if Chakwas became an Exalt, her already impressive medical skills would be amplified to a point where she can heal and cure even the worst of diseases or wounds within minutes or hours, without using any of her advanced medical equipment.

If Tali became an Exalt, her hyperbole of only needing a bit of Eezo, scrap metal and electronics to have it make precision jumps actually becomes an understatement as she finds herself able to discern and mend flaws in structures and vehicles with a mere touch, and capable of conjuring up the perfect tool for whatever work she needs at will.
  12. hydraulic man Mmmmm, Car..

Man, it's the future. Gold's just a soft, pretty metal that's useful in electrical applications and a few alloys. Also who needs Cerberus, one good mining probe run could net enough gold to plate a half dozen Normandy's. The only limiting factor is how difficult it is for Shep to work her Exalt hoodoo on it.

Tali: Shepard, we've got an entire mining hold filled with Eezo after that last run, and you want to trade it all in for GOLD!?!?

Shepard: Trust me, this is gonna be good.
  13. 0000 the dark star

    to hell and back!

human wank is among the things i most hate aside from extend party h-doujin which i recommend never reading human wank is and poor example of making humans overpowered:rage:
  14. Yog

Ok, got it. Now it all depends on what class Shepard is - engineer could be entertaining. Care to guess what biotic Exalt would be like? My guess - not needing spaceship for one, maybe even being your own mass relay. Certainly FTL.

Also, some medical charms are likely - as a soldier and a spec.ops. operative she would know how to treat wounds.
  15. GreggHL Savors the ignore button.

My Femsheps tend to be paragon vanguards with rifle training. I refer to her post exaltation as Invincible Shotgun Princess.

Possibly using Glorious Solar Weapon (firestick) to summon a shotgun full of sunlight when she needs to.
  16. I did raise an idea on that a little while back, though I had some problems figuring out how exactly to fit Creation in without making a horrible mess of things.

I mean, if Exaltations are going about in the ME verse, how do you explain the lack of the Fey, Rakasha and general death world that is Creation?

Oh, and the whole Dragon Blooded too.

That being said, I would have preferred the exaltation to come about during the end of ME1, where Shepard has defeated Sovereign (one of Autocthonth's self replicating toys that was misplaced eons ago), and is now facing the prospect of squashing by giant flaming tentacle corpse. And then in the rubble of the Citadel, when everyone gives up hope, he comes striding out of the wreckage with his anima banner flaring.

On the whole though, nice work Greg. You going to continue this?
  17. 0000 the dark star

    @GregHL
    fund it....

  18. Regarding Shepard here, considering he has super strength, super speed, etc., part of me wonders how well would do at biotics, if he ever experienced eezo exposure as a baby or fetus? Could you imagine him as a Vanguard, with his immense speed combined with a fully trained biotic charge?
  19. ShadowPhoenix Dark Lord of Shadows

Never read that because it just seemed...well, bad!
  20. ShadowPhoenix Dark Lord of Shadows

So by act of ROB shepard becomes an ROB, but perhaps with a an extra B?

Then DON'T read it. Humanitywank comes in various forms, and 99 percent of it just sucks, but there are some brilliant pieces of work out there, and although it may be only 1%, it is still, at times, fabulous to read. just because you don;t like it doesn't mean it is going to go away at your convenience. Get the hell over it!
  21. Jomasten Ham of medium proportions

Rumors and hearsay have I heard that, in certain situations, an Exalted could, and can, jump from arrow to arrow as they fly after their launching.

Obviously, we must have Shepard be able to, or at least attempt, to leap from one lightsped bullet to another aw if they were stones on a pond. And then kung fu the one that bore the gun against her.
    [/poetic BS]
  22. Well Exalted really is about higher order beings messing around the lower masses at several tiers, mostly for the lulz.
  23. Yog

Why not just make her exaltation a unique event without any further explanation? She exalts, Mass Effect universe deals with it - SCIENCE! is likely to happen. Plus, there are a lot of Reapers, and Exalt, if I understand it correctly, may be impossibly powerful, but she is still one person, only in one place at a time.

As I said - be your own spaceship. Also, biotic throw that dead Reaper so hard it goes into Mass Relay FTL and exits in front of the Citadel. Then biotic push Liara / Tali / your LR in your bed. That is on Intai'sei.

Nah, surfing on Thanix cannon stream for the win.
  24. I could leave it out of the story, sure, but I'd like to have them internally consistent in my plot notes at the least.

On the science point though, I'm curious about one thing. Given that Exalt Shepard will probably be about as subtle as Harbinger in a tutu doing the tentacle dance down the Akiba wards, a lot of people are going to be wondering how Shepard does half the things he/she does and a lot of examination will be taking place, including genetic samples.

Now, the wiki mentions things about half-castes which are the result of high essence Exalts breeding but since it's not likely that Shepard would be having kids anytime soon, would clones be anything at all like that or do half-castes require something more esoteric than just genetic data and protein strings?
  25. ShadowPhoenix Dark Lord of Shadows

Here's an idea. How about we just make her Supergirl whilst we are at it.
