The portal between worlds opened, the two races met and things went ok for a while. Then the conversion field showed up.

Thing is, after all was said and done it turned out it was Celestia and Luna who made it, and they towards the end admitted as much. The question is, why would they do so if all it would do is unite all of humanity against them, and most certainly turn their own subjects against them?

A united species is less likely to let in Discord than a splintered one, and one kind of disharmony (Hate by one species for another) is easier to keep from seeping out into the world than thousands of different kinds of disharmony.

Of course, that would be more of a lovecraftian take, with Discord being a more insidious being that can sprout from anywhere, and Celestia and Luna not truly being related to Ponykind at all, yet willing to turn even their own subjects against them if it made it harder for Discord to harm said subjects. The start though would be when Celestia and Luna realize that with the new portal to another world, Discord could seep through and spread.

To make things worse, it's a struggle over free will and species identity. Maybe swapping species changes how you think, maybe you can use your memories as a frame of reference to keep your personality the same. Yet do you choose freedom of choice and will now, and risk a fate worse than death, or do you risk losing yourself while finding a way to remove that fate worse than death? It could easily be a question by both sides: What right do they/we have to do this, do the ends justify the means?

I dunno. I'm thinking it really just ridicules the idea of people not being fine with being ponyfied. I mean we have former 1%er who is sad he isn't physically able to go all sociopath corporate overlord on his employees, former sweatshop owner who used child slave labor, hopeless alcoholic... And they are all complaining about what they describe very happy full lives as ponies and that they all now have happy loving (pony) families.

I'm not seeing that story doing anything else other than completely ridiculing every idea that ponification wasn't best choice available and that everyone's lives improved thanks to it.

Hey, I'll still loudly repeat there is no reason to hate the fandom, the show, and the memetic ecology it created just because of some fanfiction authors have issues. Ok they got fans and followers for their misanthropic universe. So what.

The saddest part is that i've met some of the other famed authors that werent blaze, and they were nice sensible people. they know i don't like her fandom, they were pretty cool about it. By the by, how's this for a conversion bureau universe: Takes places in Blazes verse, when Equestria appears, they find a earth with humans. And Diamond Dogs. And Zebras, Minotaurs, Donkeys, and even Equestrians. Oh and for some odd reason Celestia's been designated as a pariah.

I sometimes wonder. How would Chatoyance react if, by some act of ROB (whole likely shares our opinions on her works), Twilight Sparkle personally expressed her utter comtempt and disgust at her portrayal of her and her friends?

Like the Jokaero that work for the Inquisition. Like alien mercenaries from the books and background or the sanctioned xeno trait for rogue trader.

i think a CB fic crossed with metal wolf chaos would be hilarious... especially with michael's special brand of "negotiating".

I'd also like to add that I've done some changing between drafts and cutting excess fat. I'm being pretty careful with editing because I want this to be the best story it can be.

I won't give out plot details about any particular characters, of course, but I will say that even if Ice Breaker and Evening Star aren't really on humanity's side, there are other ponies that are.

You know, that would be best actual deconstruction of TCB. Both reminding the reader that humans do have "better angels of their nature" (even though en masse we are/can be shortsighted viscous bunch of monkeys who like to throw poo at everyone and everything) and that Equestrian ponies are good enough people to realize just how wrong on every single level CB offensive really is. Someone bucked up somewhere. Too much arrogance and "we know best" on Twilight and Celestia's part maybe...
