[MLP:FiM RP] Ponies, Pantheons, and Plasma Cannons (IC) 6

"Ooh," I mumble, feeling a bit embarrassed, "Well... uh, sorry..." I add, gritting my teeth a bit. The Snowy Queen comment had just... come to me and I'd said it without thinking. In retrospect, it probably hadn't been the best thing to say, given what had happened in that Dragon's lair and such and I felt rather bad over the particular choice of words. But, as tense as I'd become, stressing over the little pet name, our close contact quickly put me as ease.

As we observe the Rainbow Fall, I can't help but agree, nodding slowly as the little Mare speaks. "Uhm... yeah, I'll just ask somepony some day... no point in testing it out myself when somepony prolly already..." I trail off. Wait... date? So it is? It is! I didn't... I mean... I wasn't sure! I wasn't about to assume... but... yay! I can't help but smile, looking over to the petite Pegacorn. "Hmm... let's see what sort of shops there are on the Mane Drag," I offer, turning slowly about so that Frosty can stay under-wing if she so desires.

((Drakk, wanna give us some shops to peruse? Or other sights? Heh, I'm pretty tired and prolly ought to be heading off shortly... Busy day that was supposed to be today got moved to tomorrow...))

"Hey Sabra."

I walk up and nuzzle her. "Why would you assume that I'm the one that misses you?"

Well, there's a Gift-shop called Wings and Things, A bookstore called The Pegasus' Quill, a Cafe called Cloud 9, a couple museums dedicated to Cloudsdale's history, and dozens and dozens of restaurants of all types and styles. There's also a civilian tour of the Weather Factory that you can take.

Tex blushes.

"I, uh... guessed?" Tex says, suddenly uncertain.

"I, uh... guessed?"

I chuckle at her uncertainty, suddenly wishing I could play a certain song for her. Girl, if you could see the way I see you... "Good guess."

[Hey Ama, do you think you could grow sonic diaphragms in our rooms? It'd give you a way to speak to us, wherever your avatar is.]

"That's a souvenir to try to keep even if I don't get to stay..." Meadow says, smiling, as he rolls up the Royal Thanks. He proceeds to look over the "Shadowbolts/Kage Bunshin" spell to make sure that what he remembers actually works in this Equestria, or if it's a "lol, real alicorns only plzkthxbye" spell, power requirements-wise.

Tex relaxes a bit.

"So, how has your day been?"


[Sure.] Ama starts forming them, and they're done within 5 minutes.

You might be able to pull it off with enough focused training.

"Busy, and it's not quite done yet. Would you mind if I took a look at your helmet?"

[Sure.]

[Cool, thanks. Do you think you could replay an acoustic memory of mine with them?]

"Oh, yeah, sure." Tex says, hoofing her helmet over, looking at you curiously.

[Yeah, if you transmitted it telepathically.]

"Oh, yeah, sure."

I examine it. "What can you tell me about its construction?"

[Yeah, if you transmitted it telepathically.]

[Okay, thanks. I may have something for you in a while, though it may have to wait until tomorrow.]

"It has a typical radio, it's made of titanium, and it's pretty lightweight... it also has some enchantments that give it some resistances to heat and stuff, and make it more lightweight."

[Alright.]

An almost sparky gleam crosses his eye. Oh yes, he now had a new goal for his spell-slinging. "Hey, Twilight? Have you looked at this spell? It's one of Luna's and... I think it's in range for me, if I buckle down a bit, so... if you want it, it's yours. I already know it, I was just making sure it would work here. I'm pretty sure you have the chops to cast it if you need it."

(I'm assuming Twilight can HAX past the school limitations if she tries.)

"You think I can cast it?"

"Titanium and you guys still enchant it for lightness? It's got to be featherweight once you put it on.

"Have you guys ever used fabric/resin helmets?" I turn the helmet over a few times before hoofing it back to her.

"Yeah, it's a bit uncomfortable, but at least it isn't heavy. No we don't use helmets like that." Tex takes the helmet, holding it with her magic.

"Hmm, back home, metal helmets never got beyond steel before we switched to kevlar resin, and now it's effectively the global standard."

"Okay, that should be enough work for today. We've still got some time left in the day, so tell me how yours was." I start to walk to the couch and sit down, waving her over if she hesitates.

Tex sits next to you, explaining how the Reds and Blues apparently ran into each other in the dining hall, and that Grif got mashed potatoes in his eyes, courtesy of Sarge when he started complaining about them being there too.

"Like it or not Twilight, you are most likely this era's Starswirl the Bearded. You've got the skill. You've likely got the power. That said, I'd still give it a good hard study before you even try to cast it. I know it, but I don't quite have the power to use it yet. Well. I could cast it now... but I'd fall over from magic exhaustion before the second form even materialized."

His face turns stern. "Twilight, the first time you cast it, only go for one otherself and make it a copy of yourself. That will help you with the control problems to start. After all you'll have twice as many eyes, ears and so on, and they'll be telling you you're in two places at once." He eases his expression into a grin. "For what it's worth, you'd be able to read twice as many books for as long as the spell's active."

Despite all of the possibilities of the spell, Twilight's eyes light up at your last sentence.

"Alright... I'll try it sometime."

I can't help but smile. "That actually takes care of my biggest worry with them. I was expecting Sarge to have an issue with the Blues. I guess he's come further than I ever gave him credit for."

"Blinding somepony with your dinner is progress?" Tex asks bemusedly.

"No steamrollers were involved, so yes. Also, given three Blue targets and Grif, he went after Grif, specifically because Grif wanted him to go after the Blues. In that case, the abscence of attempted hom- equicide is progress."

"If you say so." Tex says incredulously, shaking her head.

"Right, I'd pretty much come to the Library to see if Luna'd replied to your letter, and she had... So I'm going to get some sleep myself. When did you want us here to start out?"

"Around noon. Everypony is going to need plenty of rest."

"If you say so."

"I say so, though credit goes to the multiple attempts at cliched villany, complete with 'rule the world' schemes, that have forced them to work together."

"If they get enough training . . . well, it'll be nice to add six para-militaries to our numbers."
