MLP Rec Thread #5

I rec'd the fic first, but this fic deserves all the publicity it gets, so I won't begrudge anyone else praising it; I've never played Fallout, but the fic seems to incorporate the game's elements very well, from what I've heard of the series.

Hey, I may be an unoriginal fan-leach sucking the life blood from Kkat's masterpiece for the sake of a HiE, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate originality when I see it.

Its the MLP/Team Fortress 2/Slender Mythos fic. Talk about a weird mix.

The pony on earth fic, Anthropology, has just has a twist that should of been seen coming pulled on it by the author. Discord has escaped again and is forgoing Equestria for the "more fun" human world. (Post Script: He also turned Lyra into a Pony again).

Having read, and partially enjoyed "So, you've grown wings" (Pinky was to blatant for me, there were some time-line issues, and chapters after time skip were not my cup of tea in general), I would like to ask (admitting to not being willing to look through all recommendation threads at the moment) if there are any other decent/good/excellent fics that deal with Twilight/Mane Six becoming alicorns, preferably focusing on the process / immediate consequences of the change and other's reactions to it?

Duties, though the current Discord arc has me ticked off for just how over the top they're writing it.

There are also a couple Twilight only alicornification fics, but they are very slow to update and very similar to each other currently (and are often accused of too much angst).

They've probably been recommended several times, but I'm following Sharing the Night and Expectations. The former deals with Twilight becoming the Alicorn of the Stars in a rather open setting, while the latter deals with the transformation on a more personal level. Apotheosis also has traces of the subject later on, with Twilight travelling with Luna to help her get back her power and stability.

Granted, there's a measure of the mentioned angst in all of them, and the first two are very slow updates, but they have what you asked for. I don't mind the angst because it's to be expected. You try wake up as the God Emperor of Mankind and take things in stride.

There is a Twilight with a checklist prepared for the occasion.

Being a strange individual, I'd like to point out that Lyra can operate her smartphone with her nose. I use this method t0 answer my phone while I am wearing work gloves. So she could call her family and... I dunno, tell them she's turned into a magical unicorn or something.

The most amusing thing about this update is that that dame who draws all the pretty pictures for her TCB stories replied and thinks that the story is a critique of religion. Is there an image macro for a point completely flying over someone's head? 'Cause I think that applies here.

TCB - I like it. This story.

A TCB author. The original author was dense too, but this dame is the one who wrote . . . honestly, I don't care, but she wrote a lot of TCB stories and apparently stopped reading Anthropology because Lyra didn't end up homeless, a drug addict, a rape victim, and/or dead when she went to the human world. I'm probably being more than a little unfair, but she can come off far too misanthropic.
