Thanks to everyone who welcomed me! Honestly I know next to nothing about this forum, since I only learned about it through the referral, but I think I like this place. Science, science fiction and technology geekery are right up my alley.

Any more comments on Not Alone? Because I'm seriously secconding this fic. Putting aside the TCB!pony bashing, it's extraordinarily well-written. Every chapter is told as a news broadcast, a blog post, an interview, or something simmilar, and they're perfectly believable. There's some serious Salvation War vibe to it, in the "Humanity is a very scary thing when provoked" way.

Hat's off to the author!

I have never read any of TCB, nor do I really plan on it... but have any of the authors realized that the Ponies are not really that different from Humans yet? From what I hear it's all "Humans are horrible this" or "Ponies are horrible that"

Has there been one where it is 'Ponies and Humans are horrible, blah blah blah killzemall!'

Well, in mine in general ponies are taken down a couple of pegs and humans aren't the monsters they're portrayed as. Ponies could generally be just another bunch of people, save that they're not from this world.

Reminds me of the ST novel Spock's World. Parts give background on Vulcan and it's history, one part being when they had first contact, via space pirates. "Vulcans called it The War. Thus demoting all prior wars to mere tribal conflicts." Note this was when Surak was alive, but his teachings still spreading. Let us just say the response from Vulcan was very, very thorough.

I think it would be fair to say Humanity is a very scary thing full stop. We're capable of... well, anything. From the most heinous act you can imagine to the loftiest ideals you can conceive.
