  1. Runic Arbiter Commissariat Inquisitor

Silly newbie, Spacebattles will corrupt your mind far sooner than you could ever hope to carry out your plans of conquest against SB.:D
    ProphetofWisdom and Exposure like this.
  2. Hail, fellow FimFicer! And that goes to you too, Anon3mous1. Prepare the FimFicer-ification serum and the 20-page essays on why we're better than them!
  3. Shinzakura Yeah, that guy.

Someone once said the scariest thing ever spoke was "Man is...."
    InsaneCat likes this.
  4. Questiondeca A little hard of hearing in one ear.

This fear causing statement is quickly followed the other statement of great fear, "For the Greater Good."
  5. Cyrus 21 Kamen Rider/Spirit of Chaos

Welcome to Spacebattles, An island of (In)Sanity in a sea of madness. If you ever need help on your fics, just ask us. Me and my fellow Sbers will be glad to help. And if you ever stop by the Scootamom thread, stop by "Hero's Trial", where I sell snacks and beverages from all over the multiverse. Fast Food at Friendly Prices!
    And speaking of Scootamom, LINK.
  6. Wakka Drive Systems

To the fimficcers: Realize that this is what you're attempting to convert. Good luck.
  7. roots lord Beware the squared

    Here another rec:

The Incredibly Dense Mind of Rainbow Dash

Rainbow Dash struggles to figure out why Pinkie Pie keeps acting weird, and seems so happy about spending Hearts and Hooves with hanging out with her, while also puzzling over the fact that Cloud Kicker and Blossomforth seem to be going out of their way to help the two of them enjoy the day.

Rainbow Dash and Pinkie are hilarious in that One-shot and the author write really well Rainbow Dash thought process.
  8. Shinzakura Yeah, that guy.

Just read this one: Rubber Colt, Aren't They a Balloon Maker?

It's listed as complete and it's an interesting premise (which is why I'm recommending it), yet it doesn't feel right as a one-shot. Thoughts?
  9. Dalek Ix Angry Mexican Dalek

And that's when we're not performing the first to defend the second.
  10. Erik Tiber That one guy

Are there any crossovers between FO:E and normal MLP?
  11. Looks like Chatoyance led the rest of the degenerate side of the fandom to Not Alone. For the most part they've been surprisingly civil, but there's this guy:

But since I have yet to actually make any recommendations: ARTICLE 2 is the best damn FiM fanfic I've ever read, and possibly the best fanfic I've read period. If you want to see humans and ponies discovering each other and are astounded (sometimes frightened) by what they see without being dicks about it, this is the fic.

I used to like The God Particle, but the creepy authoritarian tones it developed as time went by ruined it for me.
  12. Richardson Not a Chicken

No, but I really want to see Pip getting some therapy in a canon-verse without the war, or the Mane cast and Luna coming to the future to save everypony. Either would be nice.
  13. Kaotix Crazy in a Box with a Side of Fries

I still like The God Particle. The creepy authoritarian tones as you describe it I thought have been toned done a bit in the last few chapters. Although Luna still freaks him out a bit, James has mellowed somewhat in that respect which in turn has started worrying Twilight.
  14. firefossil I have charts. Lots of charts.

What fic are you talking about again?
  15. Doesn't just come from Luna. There's the part where Twilight physically attacks James because he criticizes Celestia, and he later apologizes to her. There's also the part where Celestia casually talks about the possibility of having James executed if he doesn't do what she tells him to. That's just off the top of my head, it's been awhile since I actually read it.

Really the whole damn thing just has an undercurrent of "James just needs to blindly trust Celestia and Luna and do whatever they tell him to and everything will be alright."

Really though, it seems to be first and foremost a fantasy story, and I could argue that's a problem with fantasy in general.
  16. Kaotix Crazy in a Box with a Side of Fries

    The God Particle

Yeah, I can see where you are coming from with that and yeah the constant needling of just trust the demi-goddesses kinda irked me too. But it also balances out with Jame's preconceived notions on how things should work because that's how they did in his universe. At first he would outright reject things just because they violated the laws of physics on earth even when he saw them with his own eyes. Most laws are the same between the two universes, but I think some have a bit more wiggle room or don't apply in the same way since Magic is involved.

Celestia shouldn't have 'joked' about such tings when James doesn't immediately trusts her and Luna shouldn't have given him some horrid nightmares just because she doesn't trust him. Luna is almost the worst. She was at the beginning polite to him in person and would spend nights stargazing with him, but at night would give him really bad nightmares because she thinks he is going to ruin Equestria in some way.
  17. Cody Fett Transitional Phrase Nut

You know, I mentioned it before, but it bares repeating.

Writing History updated, and I seriously suggest that everyone here check it out and comment on it. It's one of the most unique stories I've ever read in this fandom, and it does not deserve to be regulated to the Internet history's dustbin. Also, since you-know-who will get all up in my grill about . . . Ah, frak. This chapter shows the introduction of the canon characters, the explanation of what happened to a few, and yet more antics that grate on the narrator's nerves.
  18. More than anything, I'm confused and irked by the fact the guy is completely trusting these Princesses. As mentioned, they are not horribly tyranical yet they definitely give off the vibe of "Obey me or else." They threaten him, invade his mind, order him around, and more or less constantly hold the option of 'loldungeons' and the prontagonist simply rolls over and obeys. He even wants to serve them! I mean, different strokes for different folks but I'd like to think most people wouldnt be so blindly obedient and loyal after all that.
  19. One reviewer compared Luna to a classic psychological abuser and James to a classical psychological abuse victim. It's hard to argue with.

Really, you could make a strong case James has good old-fashioned Stockholm Syndrome.
  20. WarpObscura Annoyed Moon Princess

Well, it is written by the My Little Denarians guy.
  21. Khaos GMT +8

It's acknowledged in story, Twilight worries about how he changed aver the months he spent in Canterlot, so presumably it is a plot point and the writer will make something of it.
  22. I hope so. I'm getting the feeling that the author wrote himself into a corner, trying to make Luna mysterious and sympathetic and coming out more sadistic. A good solution would be to roll with the unexpected drama, though I'm expecting more along the lines of him ignoring Luna's actions and moving on as if nothing happened.
  23. I've actually talked to the author personally. He touted North Korea as an example of Communist efficiency because of their high literacy rate.
  24. Exposure Shadow Cabal Groupie

  25. Firethorn Cleric, Church of Weber

Echoes Exposure. Plus, like many such stats I question how they're defining 'literate' and who they're measuring to get said rate.
