While the trailer does look impressive in terms of CGI, I will reserve further judgment until I see the movie itself.
Nonsense! There are no such things as ghosts. I used Soviet magic. Now where did I put my phylactery? I'm always misplacing the damned thing.
Likely Story ghost. You can't fool us Yeti. We have been tracking other Supenaturals for 80,000 years:drevil:
Can't it be a bit of both? Ah, yes. You younger races always like to think you know so much of the world. You founds it! You founds my precious! *hides phylactery and promptly forgets where*
http://blastr.com/2012/03/how-did-those-battleship.php Little featurette elucidating the plot a bit more. Honestly, the film is looking a bit better each time I see it. At first it was "...Meh...very Bayish...might be ok." now things are looking a bit better...definitely on the level of a popcorn film I'd like.
It's nice that the director flat out states the aliens are on a surveying mission. That way it is at least kinda reasonable for us to be able to defeat them.
hm Thats ok, I plan on seeing both of them anyways. These two, along with the new Batman movie, are the main ones I'm waiting for this Summer.
I just wish they didn't have the alien tech so closely resemble Transformers with sounds and all, the Americans behind me when the trailer came up when seeing Hunger Games were absolutely convinced this was a new Bayformer movie. But than, perhaps they want to avoid associating with Battle Los Angeles due to being a water-related alien invasion movie, and thus prefer being associated with the Transformers.
I agree on the Bayformer(particularly the sounds...WAY too close to it for my taste even though I have no problem with TF). But on the B:LA, I don't see much of a connection. The water-related aspects of that movie were pretty low key. Whereas this one is far less subtle. It seems more like it could be akin to maybe Crysis than anything. And yes, definitely good that it's pointed out that it's just a survey expedition instead of a full blown invasion force.
Well they could have gone for a unique look and feel. Overall it doesn't bother me and while watching the movie I'll probably hardly even notice.
Aw, why'd you say that? WHEN were they ever known to do that? *cough* Tabitha St Germain doing half the MLP voiceovers *cough*
http://blastr.com/2012/03/peter-berg-narrates-battl.php new footage. I've come to the conclusion that, given the content of the film, if you don't go out and see(read: support) this movie then you have no business being on this website. Just go ahead and turn in your membership card because this film is 100% SB material. And I was very skeptical about this movie when the first trailer came out.
So it's actually a destroyer rather than a battleship? That would make more sense given that there are no active battleships in modern times.
If only there was some way all SBers could go to the same theater to see this... I'm so echoing what Sean said. This is A-material for Spacebattles.
