    OOC thread: It's springtime 2.0

    Ahh, fresh air. :)

Maybe I think this place needs to be spiced up a bit. :p

The mispellings of OOC in the thread titles are a constant and warm joy to my heart.:p

Hm...you have a point. Still, this is probably going to result in cooling of relations with pretty much everyone, and I was hoping to do something with the Sovereign Alliance when Coyote had time...}p

I guess I can also add fuel to the traditionalist Sluissi groups, who feel that the Khedive is becoming too "human-like" as evinced by this failure to think ahead.

The point of the whole thing was to try and force Delievv's allies to pressure him to release the slaves as they received bad PR, but that probably won't work now. I guess the Principiate helping out doesn't help my case.

Ah, well. It can wait. So, in the meantime...Antonid, are you going to brutally murder each slave individually and sell the video to the sexually depraved, or just provide video evidence that you have the slaves?
  3. Darth Invictus True Ruler of the Crystal Empire

Rule 1 of kidnappings: Give proof of life or you won't get squat

Hell Mandus could spin the shit out of this by sending FRA dignitaries to secure their release
  4. Lightning_Count Zar Belk!

Well in the diplomatic field you are now best friends with the IP with some common ground. I'm not sure if that is something for the positive column or not :p

But given this is public knowledge it does cut down DeLievv's options.

The one thing I can never figure out with DeLievv, is all this just rambling craziness or is he instead the greatest troll ever to live? Ignore him, play along withhim, and he's just a dangerous deranged crazy with nukes. But move actively against him and suddenly become the villains even more reviled than him even though you are technically in the right :p

It's either fate having a cruel joke or DeLievv is Star War's version of Loki :D
  5. Glassware Alien Stowaway

Hm. Is there any chance that with Mandus' speech focusing entirely upon Sluis Van, most people will attach all the blame to them and not the sector as a whole, thus potentially increasing trade for, say, Canoliss IV? Because the Cannolites have already been established as politicking bastards who have a literal guild of assassins murdering the opposition. The Triple King might have been acting in his own interest...

I could also have them mind-controlled by the Refuse to ignore the obvious, quite easy in a stressful situation...

Agh, I need time to think about this!
  6. Darth Invictus True Ruler of the Crystal Empire

He reminds me more of Idi Amin, he puts up an image as a troll/nutter/idiot but it helps to hide the monster who lurked beneath that facade

    Mandus is more like Putin
  7. Lightning_Count Zar Belk!

I think there's enough wiggle room :) Mandus was general and quite sweeping in his words, this would be solid gold ammunition for political rivals. If it was in fact engineered you could play it off as a master stroke of political manouevring :D
  8. RocketMedic Red Dirt Democrat

    Bwaa!

That should get interesting. They're not going to interfere with the deliciousness with Revan, but I'd like to talk about a meeting with Thrawn...
  9. Lightning_Count Zar Belk!

A good thirty thousand sith troopers between you guys at the moment :D But I think when things quiet down we can arrange a chat, no problem :)
  10. Glassware Alien Stowaway

Okay, calmer now that I've spent an hour staring at a blank word document trying to force words to appear.

Would it be silly and unrealistic of me to have the Accords publically apologize for their error in releasing the information and retract accusations about the FRA? Or should I just have them keep reiterating that Delievv is a horrible person and thus those who support him are horrible people?

I don't really trust myself to write anything anymore.
  11. PhantomVX2000 Breaking the reality

I think the Sith should be cautious about DeLievv's comment about Commenor. They would think it could be his attempt at misinformation or misdirection. ;)

For all they could know, they could pour resources and effort to fortify Commenor... only to have one or two neighboring worlds invaded because they were much less defended or their military assets being diverted. :p
  12. Darth Invictus True Ruler of the Crystal Empire

I'd retract the accusations leveled at the FRA and Kathol but reiterate those against Kuat and make it clear that until the Sluissi are shown to be alive the restrictions stay in place

Besides Kuat's been hitting Commenor on and off for awhile, the Sith will likely have suspected he was going to have another go sometime soon
  13. Antonid_Delievv Adorable Cat (hug me!)

Glassware? Look man, take it easy. Im the slowlest guy in this forum. You have an entire week (maybe even a pair of days more) to think and write something good.

Look, as L_C said I´ve had a lot of gross mistakes in the past and I learned to move forward.

IF you want to hear and consider my personal opinion on this matter, here it goes: Droids are not sentient beigns, losing them (and Im not saying you need to) cant damage your population. Sent much more droids to support the invasion of Commenor as a public gesture of regret and your compromise with the cause (i.e. beating the Sith). As the saying goes: "facts, not words" or maybe "a fact is worth a thousand words"
You can retreat your remaning forces at the end of the campaign and cut all ties with Kuat as you intended to do, but you will have proved to the galaxy that you accept the consequences of your errors. Also, a public speech will be nice too.

Regarding the proof about the slaves I can only say one thing: Check the entire thread. Show me a post in which Delievv break his word.

This is my personal opinion. I know it can sound anything but impartial and serve to my interests, but I honestly think this is the best way for you....

    ..............

    @TABI:

I already know your intentions of making a future "Sith-Nation" (which leaves me some nights witihout sleep), and I dont want to jump into your story-arc and mess up with your stuff. Look, the remaining FUS targets for Kuat are the following: Kloper, Korev, Commenor, Foundry and Uquine.

When I can possess those worlds, I will not care at all about the rest of the FUS. Im looking for a way to merge my territory, thats all. If some of the mentioned planets are inside your future plans, send me a PM and we can discuss things in order to find a good solution to the both of us.
  14. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

You can have most of those worlds soon; Vicius will soon be pulling out of the FUS when the tide turns against the True Sith truly and completely; you can just move in afterwards and claim you drove the Sith out (bywaiting for them to leave) ;)

RocketMedic; Reach isn't a Coalition member anymore; they were kicked out within the week remember?

Also, can someone please tell me what the hell Tanner just posted? Because for the life of me I can't believe what I was reading, nor understand the vast majority of.
  15. Oseng Magi-Tek Mage

Got 97 or so essays to grade this weekend but I hope to have a post up sending reinforcements to the Taris front soon.
  16. Lightning_Count Zar Belk!

I would suggest keeping focus on what you need to see happen. You want the slaves back, or at least confirmation they exist. You want to run a bit of damage control and make sure the international community doesn't cold shoulder you. You are also getting a lot of attention, while it would be bad form to push any policies it might be a good place to talk a little more about your nation, their positive aspects etc.

For mandus there is only two issues really, one is suggesting Kuat and the Pact share policies when he has expended a lot of blood, treasure and influence in trying to reverse that and make Kuat more like the other members (With mixed results, but better than before)
The other is leaking information. Obviously this is bad data to leak but its more the principle, who now will share confidential information with Sluis sector when there is precedent for their secrets ending up on the nightly news a day later? Leaving aside the specifics we're looking at a fundamental breach of diplomatic trust and that is probably the most damaging aspect as it is something every nation will bear in mind when dealing with Sluis van in the future.
Same thing happened to Reach, the IP and the Centrality, and look how they ended up :D But kudos to them for dealing with it and rebuilding, your guys aren't going to have that much work.

So if it was me, you need to make sure there is some sort of diplomatic confedentiality enshrined in law to reassure allies and plug this error, but also make sure its clear all actions were motivated by a desire to save lives.
People may not agree, but they can understand.

There'll be diplomatic fallout and it'll be unpleasant, it will alter almost the entire galaxy's opinions, but that might not be a really bad thing. The only absolutely crucial fix I can see in this is restore diplomatic trust somehow and maybe threaten to go public with information before actually going public with information :D
  17. Corp General of Seventh Gate

You know it seems every time the galaxy has the upper hand against the Sith, Kuat is involved in some dispute that distracts everyone. Hmm...

    :p
  18. Coyote Ruler of Naboo

Oh, no, we can still set something up. If there's one thing I've learned in this, it's how to "make it work". ;):drevil: The SAS will want to open diplomatic relations at some point and I may send Marika Soong there after Kathol.
  19. RocketMedic Red Dirt Democrat

    I thought it was a member-on-probation?
    No matter, the request stands.
  20. Coyote Ruler of Naboo

He's our own little North Korea!
  21. Coyote Ruler of Naboo

Since the Commenor operation is blown, invading now would be too dangerous. Best for Kuat now is to act like it was a bluff, and allude to "the real target". Even if no attack happens, the fact that the Sith are starting to get Zerg-rushed right now* will at least have them thinking that maybe another surprise front is going to open up somewhere, and get some of the lower levels of command paralyzed with indecision.

Take a real op and turn it into a psychological op. So at least that can be saved, and do some damage against the Sith.

Although, at the same time, by doing that, it takes some of the pressure off the Sluissi since they "didn't really reveal anything". It gives them a life raft of sorts, and DeLievv might not be feeling generous. Unless an ally leans on him... I mean, we don't want to spoil this offensive now with a sidebar issue that the Sith can exploit favorably, hmmm...? :D

[EDIT]: *Remember, as the Taris op kicks off, the SAS and Bothans are going to open some attacks in Bothan Space to regain momentum there, although I haven't posted anything yet I did allude to it a couple posts ago. I will make a few battle posts, though.
  22. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

Aalternatively, Vicius can send a telegram to everyone and say publiclyn "Of course DeLeivv is going to attack Commenor; he's been trying to take it since day X! This'd be, what, the tenth time? Let him, we'll just destroy his fleet and bleed his soldiers...again!"
  23. PhantomVX2000 Breaking the reality

Looking at the description of Reach-version Venator MKII made me realize something. I'm surprised that Reach hadn't done something to make itself very attractive for bigger power to invest in them or reach out to them. If they had done similar to what Flarestar Republic did recently, they could had gotten FRA or SWE doing this such thing long ago.

The MO just displaced other powers (SAS and UAP) as the Flarestar Republic's largest defense partner by providing them military financial assistance worth of a few trillion credits.

You know, Flarestar government could easily buy 1,000 ISD-II for 145 billion credits. ;)

The EGTW mentioned that Kuat Sector, being one of the galaxy's most richest sectors, could easily afford to blow trillions of credits on military expenditure (self-defense only) annually and still not hurt it's budget.
  24. Corp General of Seventh Gate

Or Pestilence can send a note saying "We're going to let you have Commenor. Go ahead...take it..."
  25. RocketMedic Red Dirt Democrat

Reach has, so far, started at least two galactic disaster wars, been conquered twice, and still gotten a full hyperlane built to it by the UAP, FRA and SWE border "protection" on the eastern flanks, and has absorbed the salvage of the Centrality.

Besides, it's in a growth area.
