  1. Herald It doesn't really matter

Well, not strictly true on Sith being unable to forsee their own deaths because I think Darth Tenebrous did. Mind you, it might be because of his mindset since I think most Sith don't forsee their deaths because they don't think they will die at all. Presumably, that would cloud any attempt for them to see their own deaths.
  2. Darth Invictus True Ruler of the Crystal Empire

Macharius had become a massive headache for everyone, it seemed the simplest way to tie ends up without causing any trouble and Devian could've done a Tesher to him, I apologize but I thought it was the easiest way to end the clusterf@ck Macharius had become without bothering everyone further
  3. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

Except you just ended up either pissing off or bothering everyone else even more.
  4. Antonid_Delievv Adorable Cat (hug me!)

@Ancient: Im officially lost. Extremely lost.
Please, explain this to me...
  5. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

He must have mixed up Decius for DeLievv. :p
  6. An Ancient God of Zeppelins

    Yeah, that...
  7. Antonid_Delievv Adorable Cat (hug me!)

    Oh, okay then.
But regarding those jedi who would makes themselves obvious... Im not sure if all of them are going to make it alive...
I mean, of course they will play their part in your grand scheme and most probably with great success, but kuati space is crawling with some nasty things ready to prevent and abort sith infiltration and force-user agents.

As I said long time ago, its not a perfect system nor an omniscient one, but it will be more easy for non-force users to infiltrate it, thats for sure.
  8. Coyote Ruler of Naboo

BTW, Antonid, you saw who I'm sending back to Nimban, eh? Let me know via PM if there's anything different this time. Speel Ya will be on a security overwatch some distance away; Ares and Theyliss are not Force-sensitive but they are dangerous and capable fighters, briefed on the situation...
  9. Darth Invictus True Ruler of the Crystal Empire

To be honest I've always been surprised Kuat hasn't started making its own Voxyn or something similar so it can track force-sensitives, it seems like the kind of thing DeLievv would do

I've been reading up on the ancient legends and myths surrounding vampire which have given me an idea for a Star Wars version of the myth. The old vampires were essentially corpses who left their graves to drink blood, this apparently kept the body fresh and halted decay which meant if you dug up a boy and it wasn't rotting it was a telltale sign that it was a vampire so you had to impale it with a stake

What if something similar was done but the 'vampires' drank the blood of force-sensitives and used the midichlorions to keep their bodies alive after death, the spirit of the darksider would return to their body and reanimate it and use the blood to keep it looking like it was still alive to prevent the dark side wearing it out?

Saw the post and loved it. Big clue/plot-development this time I hope.
I´ll send you the details after my next post. Thanks for your patience Coyote.

You dont need to feed a piece of rock and you can hide a small crystal in your pockets unlike those oversized and ugly alien-dogs.
  13. PhantomVX2000 Breaking the reality

A Thaissen crystal has detection range of mere centimeters per canonical description. :p

A Vornskr could sense a Force sensitive more than a hundred meters away.
  14. Lumus Iden Now available as chibi

I just realised something about Lunaia, if she started to call Rillao mother pretty much right after Rillao asked her if she wanted to become her daughter then I figure she will start calling Tigris Big bro, Irena Big sis and Jerec Little nephew quite quickly :D
  15. An Ancient God of Zeppelins

Who says they'll go near anything worth guarding? They just have to 'slip up' in their cover in a bar or something (think Obi-Wan in Ep IV) which will get back to Kuati authorities fairly quickly, but with a window for them to move on. That'll be enough to get their attention focussed.

You also need to make clear what exactly is so nasty in Kuati space, vague references don't really help.
  16. Antonid_Delievv Adorable Cat (hug me!)

Do you remember the metal detectors at the airports? Well it the same control but with Thaissen crystals and a crisis unit ready to intervene.
There are also a network of spy droids, force-detector search teams patrolling the streets, the usual guards, the P.G.O assasins and for what I´ve been told by L_C they are quite similar to his Blue Ice guys with better technological equipment.

Of course, all these things are not fully implemented (maybe even not implemented at all) in all planets across kuati space, but I can assure you that the Kuat Sector and the OverSector capitals have these resources at their disposal.

I know its not the perfect system, and I also said its far from being omniscient, but Im sure it can pose much more difficulties and danger to force-user agents than others.
  17. An Ancient God of Zeppelins

    They're, not going to work...

Firstly, they only come from Mimban, love to know how a) Kuat even knows about their existence and b) ever got their hands on any.

Secondly, they work at a range of centimeters. Install them in airport-style metal detectors and Krennath could walk through without tripping anything.

And that's assuming anyone even bothers to enter via such 'legitimate' means.

Again, incredibly rare tech, no real way for Kuat to get their hands on them, only work at touching distance and the total amount ever produced would barely give you enough coverage to patrol a single large city.

Not really, the only reason those systems had any effect in the Imperial period was because the Empire could afford to target individuals and small groups. On a wider scale they simply don't work. And more to the point, not only are they stupidly rare, but there is little to no reason for Kuat to even be aware of their existence. The entire Rebellion didn't know about these things. Even assuming by fluke that Kuat heard of them, actually getting their hands on any would next to impossible. The only places they'd even be would involve acts of war with the GC or SWE to retrieve. And, like I said, the total amount ever produced wouldn't give you enough to cover even a fraction of 1% of Kuats holdings.

Or put it another way, even assuming that Kuat possessed the entire stockpile of every Force detector ever made in the entire galaxy, the whole system could be avoided by Jedi simply following this rule: "Stay away from anyone waving paddles over people."

Quite apart from the fact that even if by some one in a billion chance they did scan an infiltrating Jedi, they are now in touching range of a fully trained SWE Jedi. At which point even PGO assasain is almost certainly dead.
  18. PhantomVX2000 Breaking the reality

IIRC, Force detector is very, very common equipment among the Imperial military because Emperor Palpatine practically had every unit issued with them to track and hunt down the Jedi survivors during the rise of Galactic Empire. So it is not a rare tech.

The source book where the Force Detector originated from indicated that far more than ten thousand units were believed to be produced. That was a low-end estimation.
  19. An Ancient God of Zeppelins

And on a galactic scale that's peanuts.

It's not very common equipment, it was designed so that common soldiers could detect Jedi. The entire rebellion had no idea they even existed until Luke and Wedge found some on Coruscant. That alone tells you how widespread they were.

Even if a hundred thousand were made, that's less than one for every 100 worlds in the Empire.

Every Jedi-hunting unit had them issued, not every Imperial Army unit.

Diamond boron missiles were produced, and unlike these things still are, in vastly greater numbers, and even they are faction-exclusive semi-rare tech.
  20. PhantomVX2000 Breaking the reality

The Rebellion had no idea that they existed was because they are considered highly sensitive equipment. The unauthorized possession of such equipment always attached the attention of Imperial Intelligence/Security Bureau, and the Imeprial went to a great length to ensure that these devices doesn't end up in the black market or reach the public. It was said that during the onset of the Galactic Civil War, Palaptine believed the Jedi Order was successfully eliminated so he had them stored in a secret warehouse somewhere on the Coruscant. From that point, they were not used among the Imperial military and therefore became obscure equipment.

However, the source book indicated a majority of them were deliberately destroyed during the liberation of Coruscant.

    EDITED

But then I already had figured out one or two countermeasures against the Force Detector so that a Force User could walk through the checkpoint undetected. :p
  21. Coyote Ruler of Naboo

I never heard of these detectors either, but then I'm not too well-versed on much of the EU. But it sounds like these were used to confirm a report of a Jedi that was called in... not just for random patrols. That's how specialized equipment tends to get used, especially if it is impractical to issue wide-scale.
  22. Antonid_Delievv Adorable Cat (hug me!)

    Guys, please, please...
It seems to me that you are not following my line of thought, so Im going to repeat some points and add some more:

    1) I have (literally) the galactic monopoly of Thaissen crystals, therefore I suppose if I know how they work, I can use a significant quantity of them for my purposes. And yes, I know it is a rare mineral, so Im not even speaking about tonns of them (that will be absurd).

    2) No matter how many force-detectors remain after the Empire era. I only needed one. Its called reverse engineering. I can actually manufacture them in great quantities.

    3) Lore information.

    4) Its not a way to say: "I can discover any jedi who enters in any of my planets, ha ha, take that. I know were are they and I can kill them. I win trolololol". Its only another resource I use to fight back. I must use this kind of things because I choose to not play with any force-user characters/organisations.

    5) Im perfectly aware of the detector´s flaws. I said (and Im starting to repeat myself a little bit) that it is a system far from being omniscient or perfect and because of the rarity of the resources is not even implemented on many worlds.

    6) The range of detection. Sure, big problem. Then install the crystals on a planetary customs control or spaceport security checkpoint and make people and travelers pass one by one. Easy. Not perfect, but at least solve some problems. The same on the doors of things like key buildings like (for example) the War Ministry building. ¿What about the patrols? As Coyote said they are easely to spot and avoid. Thats the catch. They are not there hoping to find a jedi with ramdom scans. They are there to deny terrain and watch for suspicios behaviour ¿Is someone getting nervous? ¿Is someone trying to avoid them? That how they work.

    7) P.G.O. assasin vs jedi + close combat = P.G.O. minus one agent.
Another thing Im perfectly aware. Thats why Im not going to send those guys one by one or even alone at all if they must confront a jedi.

    8) The real danger all this measure and systems pose to the force-users lies in the mere fact they dont know those devices are there. I didnt made public this things, so if they found about these things, they will have plenty of opportunities to avoid getting caught.
  23. Dark Primus TRANSFORMERS RULES

I had a crazy thought if it would work. If a Jedi was carrying a Ysalamari would the crystal still glow if the Jedi touched it?
  24. PhantomVX2000 Breaking the reality

It would work because Thaissen crystals are Force-sensitives themselves although they are not sapient in any form.
  25. Darth Invictus True Ruler of the Crystal Empire

What if a Grey Jedi was near a crystal, would it turn purple?

The glow is so faint you can only see it with the naked eye in darkness, the detectors don't seem to be very useful, unless DeLievv got his hands on some of the ones Cronal amplified you'll literally have to run the detector over someone's body meaning if they're force sensitive they'll have an early warning they're going to be found out

And this isn't even considering what would happen if a force-sensitive saw the customs official or whoever had it bring it out and reached out with the force to break it before it close enough to scan them, use telekinesis to snap a circuit board to unplug a cable inside the machine, it won't work and you can pass by

Also, if Kuat brags about having these cyrstals in big numbers then that means it's been mining on Mimban which means it might also have been getting Swamp Gas, which no-one is going to look kindly on them for doing
