Anyway, this thread is essentially for discussion and such about crossover ideas, regular ideas and such about Prototype and it's story. Discussion is open. Given the limited description of what he was able to do and survive . Add in his explanation...you have Giles trying to picture an elephant from just five descriptions of it...... Tail like a snake, Nose like a long hose, legs like tree trunks, side a huge grey solid mass and large floppy ears.......
It's what Giles thinks Alex might be... and Buffy's vague recollections do little to help him in that regard. Knowing too much about certain things certainly don't help either... in fact, you're just bound to make mistakes in judgement because you think too linear because of the fact you believe everything is pretty much outlined on paper - when something not according to your pre-ordained rules comes up it'll seriously throw things off whack. Accidental misunderstandings are a fun thing to write.
Also Buffy's description makes it sound like the arrow bounced off of his head. This too, will be misleading, I guess.
the claw transformation is only the tip of the iceberg. I expect a nice brown trouser moment when Giles finds out he can assume any human or inhuman shape he wishes, has more physical weapons than just the claws and can tank just about anything including AT missles.
Heck, Alex can tank a nuke and survive if given proper circumstances, which is about the ultimate thing you can throw at him other than bitch-slapping him with a Death Curse or sending him to an alternate dimension/reality - the last one wouldn't really kill him, but you'd be somewhat secure in the fact he's no longer there to harass you. At least the temporally-displaced version of him. I don't think a lot of Old Ones can survive a nuke, actually. Perhaps Illyria, if at the height of her power, but that's about it. Transformative spells/curses/hexes/magics don't have much of an effect on Alex... which is because Blacklight has the unintended side-effect of overpowering that kind of thing. They don't 'stick' like they would with most normal people, because Blacklight has a partial origin in Old One 'genes', if you will, enhanced by some mid to high selective immunity to certain approaches at tampering. Yes, Gentek actually had some warlocks employed... because you just don't leave such blatant weaknesses waiting to be exploited if you're trying out to develop a viral super-weapon like Blacklight. Though given that in this story, Gentek/Blackwatch is a 'secret' side-branch of the same powers that control Wolfram and Heart, it wouldn't be much of a surprise, would it?
Then, three days later, he slaps a rift inbetween dimensions himself, casually walks out while a lone single shrimp attempts to wriggle itself loose from between his teeth, before he spits it out to the side, and stares at the warlock/witch who sent him to the alternate dimension to begin with. "I'm all out'ta shrimp ta eat." Cue Giles looking absolutely horrified as to what it really means... because Alex has just effectively eaten everyone on the planet's shrimp form, save the one he just spat out to the side. Which would probably be Dana. Edit: Bring upon thine eyes the Sixth! The Beast of Man's Sins encroaches ever closer! I'm going to have so much fun with Alex...
At some point, maybe. Though it's probably foreshadowing/a bit of an in-joke [SPOILER]how he's eventually going to be roped into cooperating by Buffy/Angel/Spike/Giles/(Black) Willow...[/SPOILER] Who knows.
I'm really enjoying these small BtVS/Prototype snippets Kuranz. They're a great read and they really make it seem like a credible crossover.
Alex after consuming the whole planet of shrimp would probably have enough biomass to evolve from proto-shoggoth into an outright Elder God. With dimensional powers, I'd guess (given that he already has them - where else could he store the biomass?). Nice snippet. I wonder, what would happen with the impotent vampire now? And if he doesn't want to deal with teenagers, but wants to have lots of books to read to kill time, he may become teacher or a librarian in the Sunnydale college. After that he could be present at carrier fair to promote going into science. Hmm, Sunnydale has some (actually, quite alot) of magitek/sparktech lying around and at least a few genuine mad scientists. Not to mention quantum beliefe effect amplified by the hellmouth. Alex is (a number of) trained scientist(s). Why do I see him at least taking an interest in various robotic bodies and consiousness transfer devices (to cure Dana later, or to infiltrate New York and copy Dana just before het abduction, thus eliminating the need for a cure) and mad science in general (it would start simply from upgrading his PC to "modern" standards. And then he would want to make some improvements). Keep up the hood work!
Weird idea - What if suddenly the player and Alex could communicate while the game becomes as realistic as possible, with characters reacting like they should to other people's (or Mercer's) actions. I wonder how much could things get screwed up with Mercer having access to metaknowledge, or at the very least, communicating with a person with metaknowledge.
My favorite part was actually the thought of Alex just sitting down and playing video games. That's an awesome image, right there. I don't know why.
@Laluzi Hmmm, that brings up images of a raging Mercer crushing his controller, while Dana carefully peaks out from the doorway to the room. "GRAWRSMASHKILL! Come on. Come o-NOOOOO!" *crunch*

Found some funny shit on youtube. Prototype funny moments. This guy's a riot. Dating Advice with Alex part I and the failed Patsy were funny as hell. And I was writing my next snippet last night but I put it in copy... but now I overwrote it with the link above. *groan* Edit: Trying to rewrite it. Edit redux: Done!
Somehow I think that Giles's "bloody hell" is quite different than Buffy's. As in "Bloody hell we are all about to die" different, caused by him mistaking Alex for something.
Alex has no idea what sort of waves he's causing merely by being there and doing his usual thing, Buffy hasn't got a clue as to what's really going on but doesn't see it as a bad thing - that's gonna bite her in the ass later, let me tell you... Angel doesn't know what to think of it, and Giles... Giles, oh man, he's going to need a good, strong drink - more than likely several, heh - when he finds out that he wasn't just wrong the first time, but the second and the third times as well. Drusilla is going to do the funky chicken as soon as she sees Alex 'envisioned', as it were, possibly driving Spike up the wall. The Master is going to get hammerfist-in-face - annoying child gets the Musclemass Airline delivery treatment, Luke and Darla amongst lots of other things get punched, gouged, hacked and dropkicked. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is no Henry the Eight, this is the Apocalypse unmade! For victory paid in blood, only the devil himself will plot. Maybe I should pick up poetry. *savage grin*
