    The Synopsis

It is the year 2049 AD. GDI has new leadership following the retirement of previous Director Redmond Boyle in order to avoid being charged with war crimes for authorizing the use of the tiberium bomb. In the eyes of the people of GDI the future is a bright one. NOD has been defeated once again and the alien invasion was defeated and routed by the heroic actions of GDI. However the future is not as bright to those in pozwer, as InOps has finally decoded a Scrin transmission intercepted during the final phases of their retreat. It consisted of two short sentences, but it was enough to turn all involved in the decoding as pale as a ghost.

"Prepare a full invasion force. Earth will fall."

Now it is up to the new Directors of GDI to prepare Earth for the inevitable Scrin Invasion. However there is some good news. Based on the available data concerning Scrin space travel, the invasion wont be arriving for hundreds if not thousands of years, but the aforementioned available data is limited and the scrin previously encountered is most certainly out of date technologically, so its anyone's guess when the Scrin will return.

All of the Drone Ships are designed to be constructed and fielded by field ships and Heaphestus'.

Shark Class Anti-Shiping Drone-Corvette - The Shark is designed from the Top-Down with Anti-Shipping weapons that can harrass and in larger numbers threaten military ships, but thier main role is to target support ships. The Galaxy

The Old Republic: Formerly known as the Galactic Republic, this empire is the second oldest civilization in the known galaxy. The Republic once spanned the entirety of the galaxy, bringing the light of civilization to the darkest corners of space. However now the Republic is a decaying ruin barely holding on to life. The Senate is slowly killing whats left of the Republic like a cancer of the heart and what few worlds are content to hide behind their legions of clone soldiers as the Jaffa and the Sangheil hover over them like vultures, waiting to sweep in for the kill.

Jaffa Empire: The youngest of all of the galactic civilizations, the Empire was founded when the Jaffa overthrew their Goa'uld masters and drove them to near extinction. However instead of attempting to reform their society, the Jaffa merely replaced the Goa'uld as the masters of hundreds of enslaved worlds. The Empire has had several border clashes with the Sangheili Imperium, but recently both sides have ended hostilities in favor of an alliance against the Hierarchy, and eventually the Republic and the Confederacy.

Sangheili Imperium: The Sangheili Imperium, while the smallest of the galactic civilizations, is the second most industrialized (and possibly the most paranoid). Like the Jaffa Empire, the Sangheili have built an empire out of conquered planets and subjugated species. However unlike the Jaffa, the most tenacious warriors that survived the conquest of their worlds are incorporated into the Imperium's military, and as they rise in the imperial hierarchy they can work to better their homeworld's position in the Imperium.

The Confederacy: The Confederacy was founded during the initial decline of the Old Republic by the first worlds to leave the Republic. The most prominent member of the Confederacy is the Twelve Colonies of Kobol, who chartered the Articles of Confederation and provide the Confederate Stellar Navy with powerful warships called battlestars. The Confederacy maintains good relations with the Alliance of Un-Aligned Worlds and the Old Republic, and is largely considered the inheritor of the Republic's worlds and technology.

The Alliance of Un-Aligned Worlds: The Alliance of Un-Aligned Worlds was founded by the Protoss Protectorate and their allies in the wake of increased attacks from pirate kingdoms and surviving Goa'uld who sought to rebuild their empire in another portion of the galaxy. While the weakest of all the galactic civilizations, they make up for this with a wide diversity in the technology available to them. However this diversity comes with a price. The AoUW is little more than a massive military alliance, and as such for every Protoss Protectorate, there is a Turian Hierarchy or a Batarian Hegemony.

The Hierarchy Advance: Hailing from one of the nearby galaxies, the Hierarchy began their assault on Milky Way three hundred years ago. Their initial phases of expansion were largely uncontested, and it is only relatively recently that the galactic civilizations have done anything to fight the Hierarchy. According to the database gotten from the Hierarchy cruiser, the Republic has signed a non-aggression pact with the Jaffa Empire and Sangheili Imperium, allowing all three factions to direct their full attention on the Hierarchy, but reinforcements from the Hierarchy Home Galaxy are expected to arrive with the next quarter century.

    Miscellaneous Factions

The Bentusi Exchange: The Bentusi Exchange is the oldest civilization of the current galactic cycle. It was they who created the Ancient Hyperspace Trade Routes and brought the light of civilization to the galaxy. But in this age they are content to maintain the ancient trade routes, rarely involving themselves in the affairs of other civilizations.

While it has been several thousand years since the bentusi have fought a war, the Exchange always prepared to defend itself from would be conquerers. All tradeships are sworn to gather at and defend the harbor ships they make berth at in times at war, but this done more to marshal their vast trade fleet than the actual defense of the harbor ships. This is because every harbor ship is a force to be reckoned with as all are heavily shielded and even more heavily armed and contain large hangars filled with hundreds of acolyte drone fighters. However despite this the Bentusi rarely take sides in war and usually act as mediators.

There are only a few items that the Bentusi will not trade in, such as slaves (which while proftable limits potential new trade partners) and biological weapons (this was added after a tradeship sold a custom built bio weapon to Jaffa rebels, who then used it to drive their goa'uld masters to the brink of extinction, which cost the Exchange a valued trade partner.)

The Eldar: A relic from a galactic cycle long since past, the Eldar are a dying species, reduced from a once great civilization to a few billion souls surviving in massive sublight worldships called craftworlds. The eldar and their craftworlds are very rarely seen and are considered by many to be a myth, but when an eldar ship is sighted in a system it is considered a bad omen, as whenever the Eldar appear, death and destruction follow. According to the Unggoy Captain, he`s heard stories of the Eldar making temporary alliances with other empires in order to fight a mutual enemy, such as the Hierarchy, but these alliances usually end with the other party betrayed and left to die.

The Turanic Kingdoms: The Turanic Kingdoms date back to the creation of the Ancient Hyperspace Trade Routes and infest the entirely of the galaxy. Despite being a plague on galactic trade several civilizations throughout galactic history have been known to hire these turanics as mercenaries or as a secret means to undermine their allies.

It has been noted that recently the Turanics in the Galactic North-West, West, and South-West have banded together to fight the Hierarchy and are offering their services to civilizations fighting the Hierarchy for a discount. When questioned about this, one of the Turanic princes said that the Hierarchy was "bad for business."

The Orks: If the Turanics are the plague of galactic trade, then the Orks are a plague on the galaxy. Considered as old as the Eldar, the orks are considered one of the biggest threats to galactic civilization of our time. Despite attempts by the civilizations of the galaxy to exterminate them, they have always come back, and while it has been centuries since an ork infestation has reache sufficient levels to become a WAGGGHHH!!!, the civilizations of the galaxy (excluding the Hierarchy) have signed a treaty saying that if another Ork WAGGGHHH!!! were to form, all conflicts would be postponed until the Ork threat is dealt with.

Chaos Cults: In recent decades a rise in the number of cults in all galactic civilizations. These cults, while worshiping different gods, all have one thing in common. These gods are deities of chaos, and they all inhabitant of a realm called "The Empyrean" or "The Warp".

While there is no proof of the rise of these cults are a coordinated effort by a till now unknown faction, there is evidence of some level of coordination between these cults. There are also a few recorded events of a few independent worlds being taken over by these cults, and those worlds are soon after destroyed by the Eldar.

In addition to the aforementioned reports, there are also unconfirmed reports of cultists creating inter-dimensional gates through which hellish creatures are summoned, but intervention by Eldar has prevented any in-dept anansys of these claims.

The Scrin: Very little is known about the Scrin, other than they are a nomadic species that use planets as a means of growing ichor, a crystalline material that fuels their empire. The cruisers records of the Scrin, when compared to our own, reveal that the scrin that seeded Earth must have been one of the original harvesting fleets, as the modern Scrin destroy any terrestrial civilizations before seeding the target planet with tiberium. Sadly there is no other available data in the cruisers databanks.
