    It's in the post.

  2. WatcherVoid Working on mutiverse theory

I would say this is answer very simply in order like this Yes, no, yes.

While the no is kind of a lie it is true enough that it's a half truth.

Though the method we will be using will likely be ADF units with fusion torches should we launch the gate into orbit.

as for my vote on what to do am torn on choosing between these two.

[ ] Negotiation with the Ascendant (Reward: ???, depends on roll)

[ ] Assault the Hoffans (Reward: ???, depends on roll)
  3. PhoenixFTW Insert Witty One-Liner Here

    Oops. Never mind, then.
  4. KnightDisciple Justicia in nox noctis.

    Oof.

    Assault isn't happening, period.

Negotiation is...hrm. I want to try it, but it feels like it'd mostly lead to the 3rd item.

And honestly? I don't trust Saro or the Hoffans enough, and would vastly prefer the Jahre relationship. We've been giving the Satedans quite a bit of gear, and that's only going to improve. On top of that, proportionally we've bled just as much or more than they have.

    Honestly, my vote is:

[ ] Turn Saro over to the Jahre (Reward: -Satedan relationship, +Jahre relationship, Wraith knowledge: Jahre)

Then send the gate to orbit or something. As for the questions about our vessels, I'm thinking "delay explanation until we're off a battlefield on an enemy world". But...at this point, I don't intend to lie to them.

All 3 of us have shed blood together. The Jahre lost troops and very important materials. In my mind, that makes them at least a bit more trustworthy.

As a note to folks: I've started a new job, and I work 3pm-11pm US CST. While they seem pretty chillax about surfin' the net when you're not taking a call or whatnot, my computer's a total blank slate right now anyways, so while I can glance at things on my phone, can't really crank out a post. Just FYI.

    I'm thinking maybe something like:
[x] Write-in: Try to get as much knowledge and info from the Hoffans as we can while not actually promising anything. Then
[x] Turn Saro over to the Jahre
That works, 'cause I can usually be on sometime between 10pm-2am CST, and a few minutes here and there from about 10am-10pm.

May the roll not suck balls.

[X] Assault the Hoffans (Reward: ???, depends on roll)
  8. [x] Turn Saro over to the Jahre
  9. EagleBlue Kill! Kill! Kill the BETA!

I don't want to try and assault the remaining forces. So voting for negotiating.

[X] Negotiation with the Ascendant (Reward: ???, depends on roll)

Someone care to tabulate votes for me?

EDIT: Also, negotiation is... mmm. [IMG]

  12. WatcherVoid Working on mutiverse theory

Turn Saro over to the Jahre has majority.
  13. Forgothrax Healer of All

Give Saro to the Jahre, then.

    A few questions...

-What do you intend to do with the Hoffans? Tell them you're leaving with Saro, cut off comms, etc? Do you plan on cutting them off from the galaxy? If so, how-- will you move the Gate and bury it elsewhere, hurl it into orbit, etc?

-Do you intend to tell your allies anything while you have the chance?
  14. PhoenixFTW Insert Witty One-Liner Here

Keep them talking as long as possible, so we can get as much intel as possible, but don't actually promise anything and keep our allies in the loop.
Use one of our mostly-Terran Puddlejumpers to move the Gate into orbit and/or onto one of the other planets in the Hoffan system.
    Still thinking this one over.
  15. KnightDisciple Justicia in nox noctis.

-Tell our allies what I'm doing. Explain our reasoning (don't trust Hoffans, don't trust Saro, don't want us tying down troops here, for any of us, don't trust Ascendant).
-Tell the Hoffan we're pulling out. They don't get Saro. Tell them they get to live, but if they ever show their face in this galaxy as anything but peaceful explorers/traders, and especially if they try taking up slaving, there will be consequences. Then cut comms.
-Pull troops back to the gate, start pulling out.
-Rig up the best short-term method to put the Gate into orbit, be it rocket boosters or a Jumper or two.
-Basic information, with a promise to explain some more, but reservation for the purposes of national security. But no lies.
  16. WatcherVoid Working on mutiverse theory

Use ADF's and fusion torches to send the gate into orbit since we don't currently have any ship which could show up in time to do it maybe have a dart or two help tug the damn thing up.
  17. KnightDisciple Justicia in nox noctis.

So....When does this roll again? :(
  18. Forgothrax Healer of All

When I can roll it, I will. I've been responding to just a few RPs and that's it-- I'm chaperoning a college trip, thought I'd have a lot more time than I do.
  19. PhoenixFTW Insert Witty One-Liner Here

I feel sorry for you. Look on the bright side, though; at least it's not middle school.
  20. KnightDisciple Justicia in nox noctis.

Ah, it's cool, man. Didn't realize you were busy like that.

If middle school is worse than this, I'm going to move 50 miles from the nearest one.

Should've informed everyone, so it's on me.
  22. PhoenixFTW Insert Witty One-Liner Here

Middle School trips shouldn't be much worse; in my experience, middle schoolers and college kids have roughly the same maturity level... Looking back, I feel really sorry for the chaperones on the middle school trips I took.
  23. Forgothrax Healer of All

It's not dead-- my lazy ass is up and writing updates!

-Tell our allies what I'm doing. Explain our reasoning (don't trust Hoffans, don't trust Saro, don't want us tying down troops here, for any of us, don't trust Ascendant).

Dex's frown deepens. "Giving up this victory after we have shed blood dishonors us all. The Satedan Council will know of this." He dips his head to you bluntly and turns, calling to his comm specialists. The Satedans respond, and shortly begin organizing the preparations to get offworld and back home.

Pokun, on the other hand, smiles radiantly. "Thank you, Michael. My people will be grateful to you for allowing us to... repair this broken conduit. You will receive our data packet within the next dozen solar cycles." She catches your eyes and you can't help but break out into a warm smile of your own. She leans a little closer and whispers, "Thank you from me, too," then presses a kiss to your forehead and turns to leave. You sway a moment, in a happy haze thick enough you almost don't hear Saro's protesting screams through the gag, or the crack as Pokun's backhand snaps her jawbone once more, or the sudden silence as the Jahre medic smacks a hypo against her chest and she goes limp as a sedative takes effect. You're too happy to care... and it lasts for but a few seconds more until, with the sound of Pokun's boots and Saro's dragging feet fading into the distance, you snap out of it with a bit of effort, then wince as a sudden spike of pain scintillates through your head. You're greeted with a bunch of Marines grinning at you knowingly.

Over the following weeks, the Captain Kirk jokes fly pretty thick.

-Tell the Hoffan we're pulling out. They don't get Saro. Tell them they get to live, but if they ever show their face in this galaxy as anything but peaceful explorers/traders, and especially if they try taking up slaving, there will be consequences. Then cut comms.

The Hoffan minister glares at you through the screen. "I don't make promises to technobarbaric thieves set on ruining my people, as that has cost us before." You cut him off before he can yell at you some more. Pretty arrogant, for someone who just got hammered on the battlefield.

-Pull troops back to the gate, start pulling out.

Your troops move back carefully over the next hour, but the Hoffans seem to have had enough of the fight. They chivvie the last of the Wraith Worshippers before them, disassemble the camp, and sweep it-- and you-- through the Gate in short order.

-Rig up the best short-term method to put the Gate into orbit, be it rocket boosters or a Jumper or two.

77 (Success). You make a call home to Atlantis. Your scientists raise their eyebrows at your request but ask for half an hour to run data searches. At the right time, they call back and explain that two jumpers, by extending their ADFs, can lighten a Gate pedestal sufficiently that, if you excavate it, they can fly it directly into orbit. A pair of Jumpers arrives on the heels of their announcement, and you send through a group of Marines with them to dig out the Gate. In a few hours, they return with the news that the Gate is safe in geostationary orbit over Hoff.

-Basic information, with a promise to explain some more, but reservation for the purposes of national security. But no lies.

"We have access to some Ancient technology that would do the trick. I can't say more for reasons of national security right now, but I will explain."

49 (Neutral). Pokun looks you in the eye for a long moment, then nods. "Very well." Dex is less convinced. "I bet you've dug up some other toys you've hidden away. Care to share any? The Wraith threaten all of us."

    ----

The Special Turn is now over. You will receive the information the Jahre promised as a part of the next set of rolls. If you guys care to get an action sheet up, I'll do rolls either Friday or Saturday. Swift Rosenthal is now a player.
