  1. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

The only reason I've essentially written you out of the game is because you've nothing to show each turn. PM me what you actually intend to do in order to catch up and I'll see about putting in edits. As is, you've still pretty much nothing in terms of plot, you've nothing to show for the last two updates, and everyone else at least has a working plotline.

Hecton, RocketMedic, Duncan, and havoc all have plot arcs as far as I am aware of, but you (and currently Sixpack, whose stay is rather precariously dubious all things considered) haven't anything of the sort.

I can say my reaction is perfectly justifiable, but I await your PM.
  2. JKuz THIS IS A TITLE

Quick question: what order of operations do I use for the Hands and Aggressive trait?

Because a Minor Infiltration for example, can cost either 7.5 or 10 PP:

    (25/2) +5=7.5
    -OR-
    (25-5)/2=10

Right now I'm rolling under the assumption that the more expensive one is proper.
  3. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

Well...With Hands, assume it is merely halved.

Infiltrations...well, you can't really get aggressive when infiltrating someone...It kind of defeats the purpose.
  4. JKuz THIS IS A TITLE

    Right-0

Aggressive said that Special Actions are at -5, because "You are active and aggressive, never hesitating to go out and seize the day on some foolhardy mission or another" and Infiltrate is a Special Action...

But GM rulings and all that, 12.5 points it is.
  5. RocketMedic Red Dirt Democrat

    I'll have something up tonight...the Ssi-Ruuk are a curveball.
  6. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

I told you what my plot was, not dying via player, Imperial or Rebellion. As I'm not a conqueror your shit or test Deadly Virus X on your planet type Moff I'm not about to invade people or wipe out large swatches because 'I'm evil'. Just because I'm not being a conventional asshole doesn't mean I'm doing nothing here.
  7. Duncan_Idaho Cosmic Sword

Uh, I think I'm gonna add back in some production this turn for all the infiltrations whose costs I had not halved . . .
  8. Hectonkhyres Impressed with Florida Man's Work Ethic

That... makes you a rather uninteresting player and means you aren't bringing anything to the table for anyone else. Remember: You are effectively here to write a novel one set of events at a time. Survival is only a means to that end.
  9. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

I'm not going to buy that as no one else brought anything to me either until after Tabi wrote me out so we're even there. I barely had time to set up camp and establish any lasting threads like the Hutt story or what was going to be the Sith angle.

I want to play this different then your typical moff. He's a non Palpatiist, which should be called Tarkinist so he's not going to use force or the threat of force to get his way because we seen how that works. At some point they will say "and what?' and then your threat of force evaporates and you have a rebellion which can never fully be put out. You either become an evil tyrant stomping out people instead of the benefactor you worked so hard to build up in the public or your frustated at every turn and then your latest toy is blown up by a kid in a starfighter and you look weak which emboldens some and scares other, either way they jump ship.

He's going to use more subtle methods. Assassinations, bribes, economical warfare and incentives. You see that with how he originally dealt with the Hutts. He didn't use force or saber rattle. He went right to their pocketbooks and did what few others have. They did what he wanted not the other way around. That seems to have spawned a plot point as their hiring up thugs and pirates for something. May not be the fast paced action of a space battle but it's a plot.
  10. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

Unfortunately, that wasn't what you did exactly from the very beginning. Everyone else literally has something to offer in terms of story-building.

Hectonhkyres has a man in the cesspool of the Hutts, an angle with Sith Alchemy, Rakghouls, and a distinct story-arc in the process dealing with a new Separatist movement.

Havoc's dealing with rebels, taking care of his sector against zombie plagues, as well as a subtle story-arc being built over Adumar and special tech.

Duncan has a Philosopher over the ways of the Force as his Moff, creating her own cult of force-users and dealing with special artifacts while using the underworld to her own ends.

RocketMedic turned Rebel, has a rampaging former Admiral from his Sector running about, and is dealing with angry Imperials who want to kill him for treason. Now he has to deal with the soul-sucking space lizard nazis.

Save for Jkuz (who I shall be PMing) and Sixpack, you alone have been in this SD from the very beginning. Everyone has so far played beyond the 'typical moff'. Everyone else has had the equal amount of time to create a storyline and develop their characters. So, 'barely having enough time' is not a valid excuse.
  11. Hectonkhyres Impressed with Florida Man's Work Ethic

Then do those things. Write out the scenes of your deep intrigue, diplomacy, bloody assassinations, etc. Or, if you don't want to be Imperial like... don't be. You could have whole-heartedly joined the Alliance on turn one, throwing up your hands and saying 'you win' and then playing as one of the good guys. You could have pretty much been a Hutt in all but genetics... running a state sponsored criminal racket across the galaxy equal to the Black Sun Cartel at its best. You could have been a neo-Separatist under the flag of 'The South Shall Rise Again', a home grown Moff from an aggrieved sector. Start near Thrawn or Zsinj and be their right hand man. You could have gone with my original plan and have started in the boondocks with a 300 pp luxury liner the size of an Executor and precious little else and played galactic wild card. You could write that, sure.

    You didn't.
  12. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

And you had five weeks to basically set that up. And I never put a limit on the amount of posts you could have made between updates.

    Five weeks.

And besides making tiny paragraphs of relatively little plot for the first two turns, you claim that was barely enough time when everyone else was already well ahead of you with their own stories?

Excuse me if I sounded skeptic and was cynical enough to write you off to make room for another player?
  13. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

    Really?
Dealing with the Hutts in my first post
Looks like he used economics to solve it to me not force.
I also got sandbagged on turn 3 just as I started to get story threads going so no I haven't had 5 weeks it's been little over one RL one since then.

I wasn't first off the line but I had actual things going on in turn 3. Sorry I'm not Fenris, write you a fucking mini novel each post, active but no one else here is either. I have a man in the cesspools of the Hutts, The related Hutt build up, an ongoing pirate hunt (that you ignored in my turn 4 update), The Sith Academy angle was stolen from me and I hit a wall because I was expecting a Sith plague or horrible monster like that trait described not a crashed ship full of the guys out of no where. How does ship full of Sith keep people from colonizing the moon in close to 3,000 years? The Force ghost of some Sith douche or some dark side taint would make more sense then ship full of red guys.

I didn't get a chance to as I only found my legs on turn 3. This is a new angle for me (I tend not to do evil period) so It's fairly uncharted for me. Maybe you could have done better but I'm not you. Expecting me to match what other who have done villains before is not fair especially as I had no overall goal to start with but what the OP stated so I was shaky to start with. I then hit a major stumbling block and I'm punished for it.

Tabi and you now belittling my early work doesn't make it any more conducive to continuing either.
  14. Hectonkhyres Impressed with Florida Man's Work Ethic

There is no requirement that you be a villain. Moffs do not need to be avatars of mustache-twirling evil and, in fact, I am probably the only person in this game who is intentionally taking a villainous route... largely because I rightfully felt that most people would be taking an Enlightened Dictatorship route just like with Children of the Gods... and even I am more pragmatic than sadistic.

Just... give Tabi a straight answer on what your short, medium and long term goals are besides surviving. What glorious and read-worthy feats do you see yourself doing in, say, the next five posts. It has to be something. Then we will all be happy.
  15. RocketMedic Red Dirt Democrat

President Porkins got his murder on.
  16. JKuz THIS IS A TITLE

Just noticed that SB is back up. Posted first IC

A bit to introduce the Moff and her first actions getting the ball rolling.
Next turn, will really start putting out feelers into the neighboring sectors
  17. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

JKuz, I'm fairly sure I didn't give you permission to post IC just yet. I've still yet to receive your plot arcs for example.
  18. JKuz THIS IS A TITLE

    Ummm...............

    Whoops

I'd assumed that you were talking to me.

EDIT: Still getting my bearings. How detailed of an arc do you want from me? I've got some stuff. I'm just not certain what to give you.

I apologize if I seem a bit clueless and over-eager, but that's because I am, I'm kinda excited
  19. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

I was, but you were supposed to send me those plot arcs. You didn't, so I've decided to rescind that allowance.
  20. JKuz THIS IS A TITLE

    Whoops. I done goofed didn't I?

I probably should have waited for that PM then?

EDIT: Like I said a while ago I don't really know exactly what to do as I'm really still new to this. You said something along the lines, of Mokey see, Monkey do.

So right now I've going about this like I'm part of some kind of cargo cult. I barely understand whats going on, and am going through the motions I see elsewhere, desperately trying to fit in

More Edit: If this causes you more headaches, I could step back, I don't want to cause any trouble
  21. Tabi AsukaQuest Has Infected Me With Cat Ears

I just need a plot arc. Any plot arc. Which would a be damn sight better than what Citrakite thought he was doing.
  22. Duncan_Idaho Cosmic Sword

If you're having trouble thinking of something, just dig around in the wiki about the systems and plot points (in the real EU) from your sector. You can find something to use, mix and match, or just get a good jumping-off point.
  23. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

I can't give him what I don't have. I have short and medium but no long term goals other then don't die. I'm not really that kind of person to plan that far ahead.

No sure why I need to PM though. Not like any of it's secret spoiler like a sneak attack on Rocket or I'm testing plague 1178 on Bakura because fuck those invading lizards that why, or something like that. I plan to have my guy destabilize the warring Hutts on Tattoine so no one Desijic gains control. More time, effort and more importantly resources they spend there less they have to potentially use against Fott.

I'd continue the war on the pirates and find out why the Hutt's are armed up so many scumbags

I was going to stash the Sith elsewhere so I could act without really acting as I still no idea what to do with them but kill their asses in their sleep. One was going to escape so I could that Overlord's list.

He is but one man, what can he do?
    This.
    *draws gun and shoots him.*

Long term I guess I'm trying to make a merchant empire not a political one so overtures to Rebels and the New Republic so I'm useful and they punch douchebags like Delvadus first.
  24. Hectonkhyres Impressed with Florida Man's Work Ethic

For the same reason we don't give spoilers to movies that are in production. It ruins some of the magic. A SD is an example of performance art... all about putting on a show.
  25. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

It's like plotting a show, We collaborating on this so unless it affects the others directly it should be shared as we're talking in the broadest strokes here. As Tabi told me and anyone reading the thread the over all plots of every player here it seems he at least indirectly agrees. The details of how I'm going to wreck up the hutts or you're wrecking up the hutts is still mum. Using your movie ref, it's like knowing Batman is facing Bane and seemingly Catwoman in DKR and Gotham has a ninja problem again. That's who and a partial where. The other 4 H's, How, when, what, or why are covered in the movie itself.

In case where one acting against another a PM heads up be nice as they know their system and defenses better then the other person would so makes their posting better.
