  1. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

Why yes I think he is.

oday. So damn busy with birthday parties and work on top of it all!

Also need to ask if Hecton's actions are basically written by proxy via Duncan.

Hecton and I have only communicated a little, presumably because he's so bushwhacked by RL. What I wrote reflects what we agreed to do together, though of course he's doing something else besides (just possibly/probably not at Kathol?).

Sorry. I haven't even been able to get anywhere near a computer some days and the rest... eh. I at best was able to spit some hastily written shit out on a tab I left open on firefox. But I've been free for the last few hours and I put things up. I'll continue to hone it until Tabi works his update magic.

I already updated it, but when I saw you posting, I hastily removed it to further refine it.

Gah. Sorry then. SpaceBattles was not properly refreshing the page for me then.

Anyway, how would you like to spit control of the forces, Duncan? Who goes where?

I'd like to use the Derriphan as a mobile bombardment station to hammer the fortress and concentrations of heavy enemy forces that we can't take through conventional means. Castile, my witch, can probably keep up Battlefield Meditation from the Sith Meditation Chamber since she is mostly useless in combat. Then we can set up a rolling line of artillery and heavy weapons with our conventional forces.

Then we have the special forces going with Skywalker. I can't see more than a couple dozen, if that, going down underneath the place without raising a magnificent alarm.

Well, I'd like to send Thrall and Deeru with Skywalker. And if that group's going to potentially confront the DarkStryder, shouldn't it have Siran too?

How possible will it be for the sneaking-in team to communicate with the main force? The frontal assault seems to face long odds, so if it's going to serve as a distraction it should probably try to attack at some crucial moment - such as when we've linked up with the alien servitors inside and are headed directly to the Lifewell - in case it ends up petering out quickly. Before that, like you suggest, we should just try to pour absolutely as much long-range fire into the fortress as possible. Perhaps we can use the flying aliens to mount some kind of secondary distraction - can they fly into anything vulnerable on the top or rear of the fortress? Does the fortress have any weak points or bad angles we can exploit?

I'm in the process of moving across states in the next several days, but I'll participate as actively as possible.

Siran and Hessian Ciroth, my pet monster combat-specialist Hand. Probably with a few elite special forces types who personally remember Geonosis... and Siran's best. Minus his second in command who is going to have to stay up top.

The most reliable form of communication will likely be the Force. Its damn hard to jam for all but the greatest of force users.

It would be good to get control of the Lifewell rather than free/destroy it as per Skywalker's plan, but I doubt we can convince him to just let us have it, and we don't want to/probably can't kill Skywalker, and I doubt we can hold it against the Ssi-Ruuk . . .

We can hold against the lizards if my kamikazi drones can pick off a good chunk of their factory ships. I've already wolfpacked a good chunk of their numbers, they will be further diminished, and there are two Torpedo Spheres right next to my Executor right now and they have to fly through a hyperspace bottleneck. And, next turn, I have 500 DP-20s... the stripped down corvette that fights like a frigate in exchange for independent operation capacity... less than a turn's flight away.

As for the Lifewell... eh. Its a source of power, yes, but a good chunk of that can be obtained from the biological war-engines and fortress and, yes, the Darkstrider itself. Hell, ideally I would arrest the thing at lightsaber point or outbid its cohort Moff. Though the chances of that happening are near nonexistant.

Hell, the Kathol themselves may be allowed to take physical incarnations via Entechment. I'm already researching it to extend Amsel's life.
