If I was running a torrenting server in a country where doing so was illegal, I'd rig them all to blow if I pressed a button.
Nice ITG there. Except that they weren't his servers. They belonged to someone else. And seriously, putting explosives on such things is really a Hollywood thing to do.
Because "Bomb it!" is a stupid, Hollywood movie way of doing things as a first resort. So, you will endanger others and destroy someone else's property and that seems like a reasonable first recourse to you? Why? Because you're being an ITG.
So am I. I did a bit of research, and the Ukranian Gov't shouldn't have done what they did. I meant more along the lines of, "Hey, boss? The memory something-or-others are all melted!" than "Hey, boss? I'm on fire."
That's a huge coincidence. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that DDoS attack was government sponsored.
That was actually what inspired my topic "How would you take down thepiratebay?" Admittedly, mine was as the RIAA instead of the government, but the same tactics can apply with a bit more sneakiness.
I don't know what Demonoid is. It sounds like one of those Brick-break Javanoid games. Edit: Oh, Torrent Website. Meh. Governments need to stop focusing on Copyright infringement and start focusing on Child Porn. If Copyright stuff happens to get swept up into it, that's fine, but it's a terrible rallying cry.
