That's a huge coincidence. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that DDoS attack was government sponsored.
That was actually what inspired my topic "How would you take down thepiratebay?" Admittedly, mine was as the RIAA instead of the government, but the same tactics can apply with a bit more sneakiness.

Governments need to stop focusing on Copyright infringement and start focusing on Child Porn. If Copyright stuff happens to get swept up into it, that's fine, but it's a terrible rallying cry.
