If Star Wars fought Star Trek, what would happen? OP Update: Here is an alternate vs: Tabana Gas vs. the Rapid Nadion Effect ST or SW weapons, which are better. ST weapons seem to defy modern physics and yield a variety of strange effects, but this can be attributed to the Nadion Effect on the matter of targets. SW blasters and "lasers" SEEM to have a more standard heat/kinetic energy effect on targets, but on close inspection of the phenomena of the SW universe, blasters and laser exhibit "exotic" effects. So which franchise has the better weapons.
I assume GE vs Federation? Cause that, using normal modus operandi, means the GE will win. Though other battles can go other ways. Vong vs. 8472? Hard fought battle; both sides can destroy planets (albeit 8472 does it much better). Both sides have some nice forces, though in the end I give it to 8472. Mandalorians vs. Klingons? I give it to Mandos, if they are the bloodthirsty Mandos of the games. Q stomps the Star Wars side. Etc.
If you're going to do it, at least make it no EU sources for either side that way we only have visuals from films, and respective series for both. But even so, the Empire does have numbers, and FTL speed as clear advantages.
No. Lets have a troll debate about what is canon or not, yields etc, where you trekkies and Warsies try to kill each other while I watch from the sidelines and enjoy the fun .

I give it Trek if it is Canon Trek vs non EU wank Wars. Evidence generally points to the Empire having far less ships that what is claimed for them, 27 ships at the battle of Endor after months of planning,, 3 ships considered a fleet in the clone wars era, etc.
Yet the Empire can build moon sized battle stations in under 5 years, something the Federation can't pull out. I tend to say Star Wars since they have bigger ships, and I tend to equalize firepower when talking about movie SW vs. tv ST.
Star Wars against Star trek? Haha what an inventive matchup! Those Star Destroyers sure look pretty scary, but I don't really know the answer for sure. I have a feeling people are gonna be arguing this one for decades to some. ....This is 1997 right?
That might be because the Federation has never needed to build something that large, however they did come across something far larger, IE the Dyson Sphere. But DarkStar pointed out that if the Empire could build something like the DS in 5-20 years (depending on when the DS was started) it should have a much larger fleet then what is shown in the movies. The Empire should have had 100s of ships at the battle of endor not 27..... size does not really matter, to be honest. To be fair the Empire should really be pitted against the borg, they are far more similar to the empire in terms of goals and methods than the federation..
