    Race Name: Tricoma
    Location: 3,25 3,26 4,25
Race Biology: There are three caste of Tricoma.

1)Worker cast, four foot long creatures resembling ants, each worker is blind and deaf, relying on sensing the telekinetic presence of other creatures and objects in reality, they don't eat food or drink water, instead their entire lower body is devoted to converting raw materials into either the gum like sealant for holding starships togethro or the chitinous plating that serves as the main bulk of the starships hulls. When they reach the age of thirty they begin to group together and layer themselves with gum, creating a single psi-capable creature that other workers then seal into the back end of the starship to serve as engines, the middle of the ship to act as CIC and shield generators or attach to the outer hull to serve as psionic weapons.

They also perform everyday manual labor i.e. keeping the halls of the starship clean, hauling food around the hives or starships and removing refuse.

    2) Warrior cast, six foot long bipedal soldiers, each soldier is an adaptive combat unit comprised of over three hundred individual larvae bonded together into a synthetic shell, in combat base warriors swarm enemy positions and attempt to rend them with psi blades attached to each of their five fingers, with a foot long blade replacing the middle finger, but after combat the larvae adapt to better fight the enemy, either by toughening the armor plating of the warrior, adapting the skin to become a more camoflauged, increasing the intelligence of the beast or consuming then intergrating any available weapons into the warriors on board weapons system.

In each starship there are groups of warriors fed with the psi enhanced blood of the hive queen. These creatures are as intelligent as a human, are capable of existing in a complete vacuum, can easily shrug of everything below .50 rounds and resist tempreatures ranging between 300 C and -200 C, they can reach up to 60Km on open plains, stick to walls and inject flesh eating larvae into their victims that slowly convert them into warriors.

    3) Psi-ops, two meter long moth like creatures, each Psi-op is delicate and fragile, easily able to be killed by a normal human, but they more than make up for this with the incredible psionic powers they can unleash, in front of a middle aged psi-op tanks and soldiers become rent apart husks or mindless broken berserkers attacking their fellows.

Psi-ops are born male but can change gender at will, they are the only caste besides queen that shows individuality, each psi-op is capable of independant thought and operation away from the hive, they are normally peaceful creatures, but when angered they will hunt the one that angered them until either they are killed or they kill their prey.

Psi-ops are incapable of fertilizing Queens and have the sex drive of a normal human and will sometimes breed amongst themselves if no fertilized queen is present in the Hive.

    4) Queen. At thirty feet long they are by far the largest Tricoma, each Queen can think as fast as a supercomputer, lacks compassion or empathy and is utterly loyal to the Tricoma cause. When a Queen hatches she is only as large as a Worker, but she is as intelligent as the smartest human, she must leave the nest quikley before the original queen kills her, she leaves via the main tunnel system using her wings to fly out onto the plains of the Tricoma homeworld, once she lands the feral Workers will immedialty flock to her location and begin to build a basin structure that will form the main birthing chambers aboard the starship they are building around her.

Once the basin is constructed one of the Workers will fertalize her, she will then eat him and adapt her lower body into the digestive system of the Worker, allowing her to convert raw materials directly into what will become her true - thirty foot long - form, while this is happening she is also now laying eggs that will hatch into more Workers who in turn will aid in the construction of the starship surrounding her.

Once the Starhsip is complete the queen will have matured into her true form and is ready to begin laying warrior caste eggs, so another drone is mated with and consumed to fertalize that secondary egg production organ.

The new Queen will then take to the stars in an effort to spread the Tricoma far and wide.

Factions: Amongst the Tricoma there is only one faction, the Allo, they follow the Prime Queens directive of spreading themselves far and wide, either through peaceful co-existence or merciless conquest.

Homeworld/System&Sector: 3,25 3,26 4,25 Tricoma 3 is the third planet in the Tricoma system (3,25) It is an arid desert world with an unusually high amount of silica and heavy metals composing the planet, this helps Workers construct ships.

Culture: Each Hive is subservient to the Prime Queen, but the individual queens perosnalities can range from playful to murderous, the only unique culture that each hive has is the Psi songs that the Workers sing, they can only be heard by people sensitive to psionics. They lack art or plays and each warrior exists only to destroy and as such lacks any desire for cultural significance, they lack religion instead not worrying about death or ther afterlife, each queen has her mind stored within a massive supersptructure of melded
Workers under the surface of Tricoma 3
    .

Technology: Warp energy is what powers all Tricoma technology, it is drawn out into this reality by the combined effort of hundreds of Workers fused togethor to form generators and batteries, this energy is also what the Workers feed on.

The warp is a void between realities, a place devoid of any recognizable life, it mutates and degenerates what ever it touches, morphing the denizens of the warp into foul soul devouring monsters that live only to destroy. The warp rarely ever bleeds out into real-space, but where it does it creates mind bending geometrical shapes and gravitational anomalies.

FTL is attained by Workers phasing ships into a different layer of reality and warping real space around them in order to reach destinations, it is almost instantaneous but takes Workers weeks to build up the neccesary psionic power to do it.

A second form of FTL exists whereby the workers adhered to the hull warp real space around the ship and launch it in a manner similar to a bow from an arrow, this is much slower than warping but takes almost no buildup.

Military: Tricoma military strategy is realistically simply: Constant unrelenting assault, when a queen senses she is going into battle she increases egg production to a rate of one warrior every two minutes, she also signals Workers to inject the eggs with a chemical that causes the hundreds of Larvae inside to grow into adults within one to two days. Then she will order the surrounding frigates to begin assaulting the planet below with egg bundles and lumps of the same material used to make starships.

Finally she will begin teleporting full grown warriors down by the hundreds along with Psi-ops to begin assaulting enemy fortifications, she will use the first wave of deaths to order the warriors to adapt to better combat the enemy forces. If that fails she will upload her mind back to Tricoma 3 and smash the hive ship into the planets surface, ordering the Frigates to do the same.

    Ship listings.

Hive ships. Can range from 1,500 meters to 2,000 meters. with ablative armor ten meters thick.
Main weapon: gravity warp, the combined psionic power of the queen and every drone aboard the ship is brought to bear against the target, rending them apart and casting whatever is left into warp space.

    Effective range: 10,000 km.

Dreadnought: 3,000 meters long, with ablative armor thirty meters thick.
Main weapon: Warp cannon, pulling out a blob of warp space the cylindrical ship with guide it onto a target via the psi power of the Workers comprising its main body, when the warp sphere impacts it will collapse taking the target with it back into warp space.

Warp blobs are capable of tearing apart anything not shielded against 1'600 megatons of firepower, anything caught inside the warp sphere when it collapses back into warp space will be dragged deep into the howling warp, a space between dimensions that mutates all life within it into great monstrosities, doomed to stalk through the warp destroying whatever ships they find.

Warp blobs can be made to collapse before they hit by a direct hit to the center the sphere by an energized gas detonation. Their effective range is 15,000 Km, then they detonate, a dreadnought can only fire one warp shot at a time and must detonate each one manually before they fire another.

Frigate: 500 meters long, armor only two meters thick.
Main weapon: lumps of starship chitin launched at light speed every minute.
Secondary weapon: Egg bundles, warrior eggs launched at planets or ships that adhere to what they hit and allow warriors to gestate and spawn.

effective range, if nothing obstructs them the shots will go on into space until they hit something.

Anything Else: While warrior cast do not need to eat they do find consuming flesh pleasurable, similarly, Workers, when not actively working will try to seek out quartz to consume. Queens enjoy chess, Adolescent queens are fully capable of being fertilized by most species in the galaxy, interestingly enough they won't consume their partner at the end unless they - like Workers - possess psionic power.
  2. WireWolf Sexy Wolf God

Okay working on my Race now. :3
  3. I still trying to come up with some good and at least somehow original race. Its seems that psionic side we have already covered.
  4. Reece DALEK REECE

    Samauri cyborgs?
  5. CIDE The voice says I'm almost out of minutes!

My mind is partially made up. I'm stuck between purely mechanical (geth, replicators, blah blah blah) or biotech races. One extreme or the other...
  6. Guderian2nd Your (Future) Emperor

Okaaaaaaay. Looks fine.... however, could you explain that warp space part better? Like it's properties, exact nature, etc? And can those blobs of 'warp space' the Dreadnought shoot be shot down by physical weaponry?

And could you tell me the ranges or equal amount of physical firepower?

    ---

All right folks, as soon as slasher and Lord Drenghul tell me the home/capital sector coordinates, we're safe to go.
As many as the map can hold. And it's free for other players to join during the RP after it's started.

Homeworld: Aris, 2nd planet from the G7V class main sequence star of the Oran System, Sector 15,28 / Mean Radius: 5,709 kms / Surface Gravity: 0.88 gs / Rotational Period: 32 Earth hours / Orbital Period: 226 days (301.3 Earth days) / Natural Satellites: 2

Culture: Lyrans are a highly diverse people, both individually and culturally. In terms of government however, most of them have banded together under the United Systems Commonwealth, a secular, democratic federation of colony-states, which are in some cases further divided into semi-autonomous provinces. Their economy is semi-post-scarcity, with basic goods, services, food, housing, education, and medical care available to all citizens for free.

Higher quality goods and services can be purchased with reputation points (often called 'rep' or 'points' for short), which are earned when citizens engage in socially-beneficial activities. Since nearly all manual labor has been replaced by automation, most citizens earn rep points through scientific endeavors, artistic pursuits, or political participation. Some even choose careers in the military, police, or other civil services. But they are also a fun-loving people, and frequently partake in a wide variety of entertaining diversions.

The Lyrans have been a spacefaring race for over 1,300 years now, and have been traveling faster than light for over nine centuries. Advances in genetic engineering and nanotechnology have given nearly all Lyrans lifespans nearly ten times what they were during their Information Age, and biological/mechanical augmentations and implants are relatively common. The USC has discovered several developing intelligent species, and has made a policy of avoiding contact with such races until they are capable of radio communications and have launched their first space programs, although they are willing to covertly intervene to prevent global-scale wars and natural disasters.

The USC first detected signs of other intelligent, spacefaring lifeforms in the Andromeda Galaxy four centuries ago, leading to a huge increase in military research, development, and production as a precautionary measure in case some of them prove to be hostile. Still, most Lyrans hope that their first contact with intelligent aliens will be peaceful, though most of them appear to be quite far away. Recent breakthroughs in hyperspace drive technology have resulted in the launching of several scientific expeditions far beyond colonized space to search for, study, and possibly contact these spacefaring alien societies.

Technology: Solar power, high-density supercapacitors, and advanced aneutronic fusion reactors provide for nearly all the Lyrans' energy needs. Nanotech fabricators are used to create most synthetic goods. Chemical synthesis, vertical agriculture, and in-vitro meat provide most of the population's food supply. Raw materials are obtained by mining barren moons and asteroids. Powerful electronic/optical hybrid computers are a universal technology, and quantum computers are widely used for scientific applications.

Non-sapient virtual intelligence programs are common in recreation, business, government, and the military. A handful of sapient AGIs exist, but their applications are limited, and debate is still ongoing regarding the development, ethics, and possible dangers of AGIs. All of them were created under heavy government scrutiny after centuries of research and planning, and scientists continue to study them as they develop. So far, all of them seem to be benign and cognizant of the Lyrans' concerns about them, though a few of them have voiced a desire for greater freedoms.

Starships achieve FTL travel with hyperdrives, which create a quantum resonance field around the ship, shunting them from normal space into hyperspace. The more power is fed into the hyperdrive, the stronger the ship's resonance field becomes. And the stronger the resonance field, the faster the ship travels. Since normal matter cannot exist naturally in hyperspace, the hyperdrive must remain active for the entire trip, which can represent a significant fuel drain, limiting its range. Hyperspace is also less stable than normal space, resulting in 'currents' and 'eddies' which cause travel times to vary, sometimes significantly.

On the upside, ships can maneuver and change course in hyperspace just as they can in normal space, and a ship with a good pilot, navigation system and hyperspatial sensor suite can take advantage of the currents in hyperspace to cut down on travel time. Additionally, planetary gravity wells don't affect hyperspace travel, entry or exit. On the other hand, gravity wells near stars warp hyperspace enough to put undesirable stress on a ship's hull, so most ships avoid going near them. Black holes and super-dense stars warp hyperspace so much that they could easily rip apart a ship's hull, making FTL travel through or near them virtually impossible.

Technological advancement has made hyperdrives more and more efficient, allowing ships to go faster for the same amount of power. The current maximum average speed for hyperdrives is about 800 light-years per day, and fuel reserves typically allow for up to one month of continuous travel at maximum speed. The Lyrans also use artificial wormholes called hypergates, which were invented five centuries ago as a development of hyperspace technology, to transport ships, people and radio communications between star systems instantaneously.

These hypergates vary greatly in size, from millimeters across for the smallest FTL communication devices to tens of kilometers in diameter for the largest starship transit gates, with larger gates requiring more power to operate. FTL communications are facilitated through an extensive network of dedicated hypergate comm relays, and virtually every starship is equipped with multiple 'hypercomm' units capable of connecting with both the relay network and other starships. Ordinary radio wave and fiber-optic communications are used on planets and space habitats, but each colony possesses multiple hypercomm relays feeding light-speed signals into the FTL network and vice versa.

STL propulsion is mainly provided by fusion thrusters (max acceleration around 12 kms/s^2), and nearly all manned ships are equipped with artificial gravity generators. External repulsor field emitters allow some ships to land and hover near a planet or moon's surface. Spaceship hulls are made of fullerene-reinforced superalloy/ceramic composite materials, several times stronger and more heat resistant than conventional steel for the same weight, structured into multiple layers and interspaced with high-strength, heat-resistant nanofiber material. Combined with multiple redundant high-energy deflector shields and structural reinforcement fields, Lyran ships posses excellent protection against radiation, projectiles and directed energy weapons while retaining low mass, increasing acceleration and maneuverability.

Space-based weaponry mainly consists of multi-silo missile batteries equipped with either single depleted uranium kinetic kill warheads, multiple depleted uranium kinetic kill submunitions, or variable-yield thermonuclear shaped charge warheads in the event of close-range combat. The missiles are equipped with fusion rockets for propulsion and proportionally oversized artificial gravity generators, allowing them to accelerate to up to .1c and pull normally impossible maneuvers. Their maximum speed gives missiles equipped with depleted uranium ordinance enough sheer kinetic energy to render an explosive warhead superfluous. Assuming constant use of maximum vectored thrust in pursuit of a moving target, the minimum effective range of these missiles is around 10 light-seconds.

USC warships and defense platforms are also equipped with free-electron lasers, gamma ray lasers. Their effective range extends far beyond their accurate range, since hitting enemies beyond a fraction of a light-second requires predictive trajectory calculations by the ship's targeting computers, and the farther away the enemy is, the harder it becomes to land a hit, doubly so if the enemy is performing evasive maneuvers. The accurate range of these weapons can be greatly increased by deploying hyperdrive-equipped sensor drones, which can jump near the enemy ship and track its speed and trajectory, instantly feeding the data back to the home vessel via hypercomm. USC warships also possess numerous laser and missile-based point defense turrets. Ground weapons include lasers, coilguns, missiles, and variable yield thermonuclear weapons.

Military: The United Systems Commonwealth Armed Services are split up into two main branches: the USC Space Defense Force and the USC Ground Defense Corps.

The USCSDF operates the Lyran's military starships and aersospace craft. Most warships are highly automated, crewed only by a handful of command staff and a VI. This frees up room for additional weapons, munitions, and redundant systems, making Lyran warships powerful for their size.
