The Avengers VS Sylar(Heroes)

  1. I think it's more that, given Sylar's nature, having all that power taken away from him... drove him a little bit mad to get it back. He was willing to cut corners and just outright ignores possibilities, variables, and people that he wouldn't have before to get to what he wanted the most direct way possible.
  2. Silveraith Argentum Phasma Phasmatis

Thor and the Hulk are the only problems for Syler, everyone else will be killed by TK.
  3. The Imperator I am Alpharius

I just had an epiphany - Sylar's fixing power kicked in and drove him to cut corners, not plan, and generally be more stupid, because he had to fix himself, his power was forcing him to. It makes his stupidity and general blandness as a character from season 2 through 3 seem less horrible.
  4. Dimensionist This Hand Of Mine Burns With An Awesome Power-!

    Why wouldn't it work?

He's already been shown to turn effectively every solid object into gold. Why would he have problems with the Hulk and Thor, beyond speculation?

No, Sylar's TK can be used to both boost his physical abilities, and also used conventionally. He's stopped bullets mid-flight, cut people open to get their abilities, etc.

First of all, telepaths use telepathy, not telekinesis. You'd need to be telekinetic to do so.

Second of all, he definitely didn't do this in the movies.

    >Implying he'll bother to walk straight to Hulk from the front and do absolutely nothing while Hulk winds up for a Thunderclap.

Won't work - when you can regen from being at ground zero of a nuke, being torn in half is a mild inconvenience at best.

Still seeing a clear Sylar victory here.
  5. The Imperator I am Alpharius

Plus, Sylar has his own equivalent to the thunder clap. And does Sylar's sonic control allow him to control sound he doesn't produce himself? I can't remember.
  6. Dimensionist This Hand Of Mine Burns With An Awesome Power-!

Heck, Sylar's sonic control allows him to disintegrate flesh and clothing.
  7. TheTruth SCIENCE!!!

Yeah, I give this to Sylar. Basically supporting Dimensionist's arguments. Since he can turn organics into gold, I really don't think the Hulk can stand that, then "melting" the golden statue to keep any weird healing/gamma/hulk abilities from changing himself back somehow.

As for Thor, he was extremely worried in the Avenger's movie, when (SPOILERS!!!!!!) they dropped him out of the Helicarrier in the cage. With the way he was acting, it would have at least knocked him out which means to me that between the Ice, the Nuclear Reactions, and the Telekinesis, Thor can be taken down and "studied" before being killed.

And yes, Sylars ability to figure things out works on EVERYTHING, he started out as a normal human with that one ability and improved himself from there.

And really, without getting something lodged in his brain (in a very specific spot) and leaving it there, they cannot physically stop him. And they will NEVER discover that in a all out fight. They will probably kill him repeatedly and he will heal and wake up in seconds and continue the fight. Even if he didn't want to, his power would drive him too. When we see the future segment, it showed us it took years for him to get it under control, and with multiple super-powered people there, it's like an all-you-can-eat buffet.
  8. The Imperator I am Alpharius

TheTruth, Sylar started as an advanced human. His power is to understand things and fix them. He used his powers to understand the brains of people, then "fixes" his own so it works more like theirs.
  9. Jared The scalpel.

If you knock his head off or turn it to mush, which Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk are capable of doing if they connect, shouldn't that kill him? Or at least put him out of commission for a reasonable duration?

Can his TK be applied through Iron Man's armor? If not, he has to crush it, and that's not easy.
  10. The Imperator I am Alpharius

He can move his "sweet spot" with his shapeshifting, so he effectively has no "off-switch" for his healing ability.
  11. er

sylar is crazy powerful, but he's out numbered and out gunned.

blasters are faster then bullets and honestly tony can speed blitz the area before sylar responds based on his reflex reactions (he got floored by nathan flying at him in season 3 and tony hits both faster and harder).

sylar's tk isn't going to out muscle the hulk. At best, you'll get him focusing on hulk, as hulk actually has way better strength feats from his movies.

    Invisibility sucks against sensors too.

plus sylar sucks at multitasking. even if he concentrates on hulk or thor, that means iron man, hawkeyes proximity arrows and a certain shield bearer can block any attacks blasts and hop away before he can get a bead on him.

if sylar takes to the air, he's going to meet his match with a certain tornado that thor can generate (as shown by his own movie).

damage is going to be extensive enough that even his healing factor is going to have a 10 count, and that's assuming they don't figure out a way to separate his parts and throw them in separate directions.

    one last thing.

tony's bio sensors are wonderful for finding the "weak point on sylar", and hawkeye's perception score might figure out what to look for as well.
  12. No, the only limit to the healing is that if something is lodged in the part of the brain that controls the 'healing'(not destroys it, is lodged into it). Then he doesn't regen. No more, no less. If you were to put that there, then disintegrate him... i wonder if that would work. However, merely pulping his head isn't enough - Claire and Peter have both been at Ground Zero of a nuclear bomb with a 4 mile diameter, there was nothing left of their bodies to regen and both made it out alive.

The netflix subtitle's call Nathan's first (on screen) flight 'sonic boom' when he makes the ring of smoke/whatever. Now that's not what i'd call definitive, but it's evidence all the same. We know Tony can fly at least as fast as military jets, but we've got no calcs on Nathan's speed other than that.

As well, in season 3 IIRC Sylar no longer has his super hearing. With it, you can't really sneak up on him.

Or he just flys high enough and takes out Tony and Thor first.

Iron Man is the only one with sensors.

And then what? Oh right, Sylar gets up, learns a bit more about them, and adapts. Even if we do assume that.

How do you figure he meets his match with that?
  13. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

Should his head be taken off and hurled across midtown that mission killed enough even if his body walks over an hour later and put it back on.
  14. Are you sure that would be the result?
  15. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

No I'm being Facisous. Sylar just doesn't fucking die though.
  16. How about just smashing him with the hammer... and leaving it on his chest?
  17. The Imperator I am Alpharius

If he uses his ice power to do Ice explosion, and turns himself into ice, then he can just reform in another place.
  18. How about just using one of those HYDRA weapons on him and blasting him to nothing? Or send the Destroyer after him?

Also, I don't think his ice powers will work against Thor himself. It didn't last long when Loki tried the same trick on Heimdall.
  19. The Imperator I am Alpharius

They aren't to hurt the enemies, just to make him even more immortal. Though, he would need competence on to use it.
  20. It's funny you say this, since I just came back from watching the movie an hour ago and I clearly remember wtf'ing as the Hulk jumps onto one of the large, flying Chitauri serpent things and he magically uses his strength to alter the flight path of one these monsters while hanging on to nothing but its face.

Not that I'm seriously arguing against the whole "levitation" thing or whatever.
  21. more angry = bigger, stronger hulk.

Kept getting angry because he could move it, thus more mass from hammer space pulled it over?

    Or just movie logic.

    :p
  22. Citrakite It's no fun when you know the trick already.

Imagine a toy figure with a man's strength suddenly jumps on your head as your out jogging and starts pulling on your hair to make you change directions.
  23. CIDE The voice says I'm almost out of minutes!

I'd lose a lot of hair.
  24. thtadthtshldntb Anti nBSG Troll

Did they ever change the heroes limit of only being able to use one power at a time? Sylar is boned because of that alone if it was true through the end of the series.

The whole team is too much for him to deal with I think.
  25. The Imperator I am Alpharius

IIRC, that was Peter that had that problem; IIRC Sylar could use as many at one time as long as he was able to put enough effort into it.
